Does anybody know of a keyboard with the buttons more spread out? My wife hates all the keyboards on the Eris that we've found so far. Any help would make life at the house more peaceful.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo through a weird assortment of events i managed to crack the screen on my Eris. But this is the trippy part, I didnt break the glass but the touch sensors underneath. So now i am unable to use the menu or home buttons and the entire left part of my screen and more. I am unable to unlock my device in anyway that i know(menu button, the slider). Is there any other way to unlock it? I now have 11 unread texts and 4 voicemails that I desperately want to view. Oh and I know some of you won't be happy about what I'm about to say but.... I took the leap to the moto droid. I had the chance to get it on a 1 year because I didnt get insurance and I went for it. I will really miss my Eris but the keyboard lag was just killing me.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have had a bunch of problems with my droid keyboards. What is happening is that the corner of the keyboard buttons will bend up - it then gets caught on my cover, or on the phone as it slides. I originally had the problem with the lower left hand corner of the I button, I replaced the phone and got a 'certified like new' phone from verizon. Now the lower left hand corner of my R button is starting to have the same problem. If I move my finger over the board, the corner will actually poke my finger. What gives? Is anyone else having this problem? I am very careful with the phone and don't do anything unusual. I wonder if I am dragging my fingers as I message, etc.

View 8 Replies View RelatedFriend of mine told me today that ones of his co-workers have their phone set-up where it is bluetooth connected to his laptop, His laptop is connected to his home television which makes the tv act as his monitor, then he uses his android phone as the wireless keyboard and trackball for the mouse. He wasn't sure what phone exactly he had, or what app he was using.
My questions are. Is this possible with the eris? If so, is there a specific app you need to get? I know that the Eris doesn't do data over bluetooth, so I don't know if this is something that won't work now, but may work with an upgrade to 2.x. This is something that I would be interested in doing.
I can't get the SlideIT to work on my HTC droid eris. Does it even work on 1.5 or do I need to have 2.1 for it to work?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy phone unlocked in my pocket I have a droid eris btw. I also have the lockpattern where you connect he dots set up.
In my pocket it did the wrong lock pattern five times and now it is asking me to put my email and password in to unlock it. The problEm is that the keyboard does not come up even when I hold menu.
Are their any options for any form of external full-sized keyboard for the Eris? It'd be nice to have just one electronic device to bring to school to take notes on. Oh, I don't know if this matters, but I'm still on 1.5.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFrom what information I can gather from the web, android browser shortcuts are comprised of MENU + X combinations. Is there an equivalent for the Eris? I do not see how this works given the lack of a real keyboard. To open the keyboard take a separate action and when holding MENU to then click the appropriate letter, all you get is the menu.

Is there a way of completely disabling the slide unlock to answer the phone? Using the Green to answer, Red to deny works perfectly well. I want it like an "olden-days" dumb phone. Is it at all possible to modify/flash the ROM to render the screen inactive for this? Most threads point to unlocker apps, but I'm trying to avoid them.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI noticed the 4 big cursor keys on the side (landscape) and bottom (portrait) of the HTC Sense keyboard on the EVO. After playing with the HD2 that has the same layout, I prefer not having them there. It makes me have to reach farther with my right thumb to get to the spacebar and gives an unbalanced feel. I end up hitting the period by accident.
-Can the cursor keys be removed?
-If I install a 3rd party keyboard like Smart Keyboard or Better Keyboard (I've purchased both) on the EVO, will that get rid of the cursor keys?
I know that the Sense UI keyboard is supposed to be pretty good, but I'm wondering if I should download Better Keyboard.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone have issues where the touch screen and the buttons become unresponsive for a period for short bursts. I think my phone has had it. I tried restoring it to see if certain apps maybe causing it but that is not the issue. Restored still same problem. it happens about every 5 minutes.

Also when i press the back button all it does is close the app rather then going back. Which is what the middle button should be doing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen you press the 'google search button' on your Hero it takes you to the Browser.. I then turn it in landscape mode to get a bigger keyboard. As soon as I press any of the keyboard buttons the keyboard bounces up and down..thus you can't type properly..

GMail is almost unusable when composing a message - the Send and discard and Save buttons take up more room than you get space to type, resulting in just 3 or so lines of visible text. To make it worse, the typing font is massive.
Does anyone know how to...
1) Remove the stupid Send/Discard/Save buttons above the keyboard. Clicking the menu soft-key brings up those options anyway, meaning they literally are nothing but a waste of typing space
2) Change the font size, so we can see more text as we type. When reading a message, the font is much smaller and still very readable...
3) Change the keyboard to something shorter, gaining more room to see messages we composes
I got this phone to GMail with so this is pretty annoying.
Somehow I have changed a setting on my phone and I can no longer use my fingers in that pinch and unpinch way to make the screen smaller and bigger. All I have is the little - and + in the bottom right corner. Tried settings and searching here... anyone have any idea how I can use the pinch/unpinch?

What is the best keyboard to get off the market. The default keyboard is ok but sometimes it doesn't backspace or when i hit the space bar i get the . instead of the space.
