Verizon Eris here in Delaware. Have not gotten any emails delivered since 10am this morning. Also, My phone display only shows 2 signal bars and does not say 3g or 1x anymore. very strange. anyone else? I thought the 3g problem would still show "1x" in display? i do not have the update yet either.

Not sure if this had been posted or not but I read there was a nationwide 3G outage, but does anyone know what caused it? Did they try to push 2.1 and crash the system?

I just added the leaked 2.1 yesterday and was trying to add the new 2.1 music player that a few people have added. I dl'ed it on my computer and connected my eris to my PC through USB. Once I connected, it gave me three options, charge only, HTC Sync, or disk drive. I chose disk drive and added the new musicplayer file to my phone. Forgetting how to access my SD card files, I went to Settings>SD card &phone storage> and quite regretably hit Unmount SD card. In doing this, the only option I have on that screen is to Format (erase) my SD card (Which I'd rather not do). Now when I connect using USB, I only get the first 2 options, charge and HTC sync, and cannot connect with my PC anymore as a disk drive. how I can connect back up with USB to my computer? and where do I go to access the files I've added to my SD card? View 4 Replies View RelatedI sync my Eris with Outlook on my computer but have not done so since March 2010. When I now plug my Eris into a USB port, it does not recognize it as another drive or hardware like it used to. The computer does recognize other peripherals when plugged into the USB port.

View 29 Replies View RelatedI used to have chompSMS and the trackball lit up when I got a new text. I uninstalled it and went back to the native texting app but decided I liked chompSMS's UI and ability to set different ringtones to different contacts so I went back to it... and now my trackball won't light up when I get a text. The notification LED flashes, but no trackball light at all. I kind of liked it cause it was the only way I could tell I got a text when I was on a call (seeing the trackball light up out of the corner of my eye).Any ideas as to what's wrong? Or does chompSMS's latest update not support the trackball lighting up anymore?The trackball still lights up for calls and emails though, so I know it's not the phone's hardware causing the problem.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI've searched all over the internet, and all over my phone trying desperately to figure out why I can't listen to my voicemail anymore. I installed Fusion Visual Voicemail a few weeks ago, and didn't really use it that much, so I uninstalled it. My phone crashed and I had to hard reset it, but I'm still getting those texts from the App when I receive a new voicemail. They don't make sense, it's all a bunch of numbers. When I try to call my voicemail it's another answering service. I can't find it under the "Manage Applications" tab.
I'm sorry if these seems redundant or ridiculously stupid.
I've been having a 3g outage on my droid all day here in western NY and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this? I'm up to date with the official 2.1 and yes I've tried restarting my phone, turning wireless on and off, toggling airplane mode, and still nothing works. Not sure if it's just my phone acting up or if anyone else is experiencing it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo everything is perfect about my Eris except that the scroll-ball doesn't scroll left anymore. This isn't the first time the problem came up. My last Eris had the same problem. It scrolls in every direction except which is kinda annoying as I use it alot more than I thought I would. Should I take it up with Verizon? It isn't a life or death situation but it makes editing sentences in texts a pain.

I did a small search around the internet, and it came up with just about nothing.My first question is: I turned mobile data off, and yet, during the night, I was charged for data, so something leaked.Personally, I thought if this was because of this particular function. But maybe it was something else.So, I turned it off, but around the forums for other androids people seem to think that syncing doesn't work as well with this disabled.Does anybody know what might have happened? And could this function have been the thing that caused the leak.The leak, was actually for only 50 KB or so, but because I'm on Page Plus, it caused me to go under the required balance to refill of $29.95 and caused my plan to lapse. It's important for me for this not to happen again. Can anyone give any tips?

Even after trying to resend them all it is not working. I have performed a battery pull and a forced close of the message application. I have done the "airplane" fix and have updated roaming via *228,2. I am able to use all other functions of the phone. Now for some reason when I do it it only gives me a google search option although I can still say "Navigate to 123 Whatever RD" and it will open up the navigator but why is my voice dial not working anymore.
View 15 Replies View RelatedA few weeks ago, I followed a tutorial to get Eclipse and the Android Development Kit up and running. I successfully built the test application and ran it on a virtual device.
Tonight I finally went back to do the next step in the tutorial, but when I went to start a new project there wasn't an option to start a new Android project. Even searching for it didn't produce anything. Window -> Preferences doesn't have an Android preferences dialog, either. The developer tools are still installed, though, according to Help -> Install New Software.
I'm using Eclipse Galileo 3.5.2 on Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat. I just recently upgraded. I remember I had to install some additional packages to get Eclipse to run the Android stuff last time. I haven't uninstalled those, so I don't know what's causing the problem.
What's causing this problem, and what can I do to fix it?

I mean if your turn off one and leave the other on, what effect would that have? If they are both off, do the google apps only sync when you open them? Do you have to manually sync the google apps if they are both off? If I was to leave auto sync on, and background data off, would everything still sync in some way? Just looking for some clarification on those 2 options.

(Those numbers have been different, obviously at different times. The above numbers are after killing the still-running Music, Listen, and AK Notebook processes. No other "non-essential" proceses were running. )
But what do they mean?
How does that correlate to Settings -> SD card & phone storage which tells me Available space is 86 MB?
Anyone have any tips on disabling 3g without going into airplane mode in the form of a widget, without running Sense. I'm using Helix Launcher, and sure I can use anycut but I was looking for something that just requires one tap....running 2.1v2

View 1 Replies View RelatedQuick question about Handcent and the notification sounds. My wife's Droid was doing the whole "droid" sound everytime she received a text up until tonight and it stopped. Same with emails. For the past two weeks it has been fine, but now all of the sudden it stopped. Anyone have any idea? I went through and checked all the settings and they look good, but still nothing. I even uninstalled Handcent and tried reinstalling it and still nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince updating to 2.2, when i add a shortcut to someone's contact info by (holding finger on screen>shortcut>contact>John Doe) it does not use the picture. Instead I just get the "shadow outline thingy" for their picture, even though the picture is still there in contacts app.
The only things I've added since doing the update are Facebook and Takephone, but I don't think either of those are the culprit since they are showing their pictures just fine...
