View 4 RepliesI hope you guys can implement that in the next android updates. It is really cool that all the applications are free, but the G1 phone doesn't have a lot of on board memory, so please implement the feature to install applications on the SD Card. That is the only comment I have. A lot of people are Jailbreaking their phones just so they can get to that feature. Please consider it. Thank you. One more thing-If you can make it possible to save the browser cache data on the SD card as well will be awesome.
View 3 Replies View RelatedCan someone please tell me how to install apps directly onto the microSD card? Even brand new the HTC Desire seems to only have 100MB to download and install applications on so I find it much more sense being able to store and install them on a 32GB microSD card. My internal memory is full now and I barely have any apps installed on it yet have about 900 applications I can install so I at least want to put more on!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've seen many threads on the crappy side asking how to side load apps (installing non market apps) well you can root (look for the sticky in our forum) or you just use the Side loading Wonder Machine with no need to root. I use it all the time (just got me an Oregon Trail apk anyway, just follow the instructions and you'll be happy. I would make two minor corrections though. I downloaded the samsung drivers from samsung them selfs. Also make sure you have the apk in the same folder as the wonder machine heres a video.

I am rooted and roomed. How can I run applications from my SD card?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI did a search and could not find any new info. on storing apps. on the SD card. Is there a way to run apps off of the sd card with OTA 2.1 and not ROOTING? any way to store apps on the card and then load them from the sd card when you want to use them?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI did a search and couldn't find anything about doing this with the Eris.
Anyone know how to store applications on the micro SD card? Hopefully they will be usable.
Is there a way to store apps to the sd card without rooting?
View 1 Replies View Relatedi wanna install all my apps to run off my SD card. How would one go about doing that? im running OTA 2.1. do i need to root, etc and can someone point me in the right direction?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have to reload all the apps I had on stock 2.1 from the market or is there a way to get them from somewhere deep in the phone. Contacts and pictures seemed to have moved OK.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to set your Droid Eris to automatically store your apps on your SD card, as opposed to your phone's hard drive?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was just curious but the other day I switched from kaosfroyo v34 to v35-1 and after flashing, it didn't recognize my SD Card anymore. So I just re-formatted. Does this mean I no longer have root on my phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs this possible with root? m thinking of going this route (hehe).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have kind of started figuring this stuff out. I've successfully flashed to sbf a few times after screwing up. . So I was wondering about the proper order of installing zips.. For right now I have . . SBF, One click root, Blackglassdeodexer, Blackglassback to stock, Rubix1.86 i think. .. . I was wondering if the order changed anything... Or what all I can now do from here. I'm also having a few random reboots a day where it'll just stop and reboot..
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday I rooted my device yesterday. Today I did Droid X Bootstrap Recovery, Deodex, and backed up after deodex using ROM Manager. I got the rubix .3 ROM, and installed that. From what Ive read is to install a theme you need to put the update.zip folder on the sd card. In the root fold of my sd I already have an update.zip file. What is this? Do I need to put the them in the root of the sd? Or can I make a themes folder with subfolders and put the themes there?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat are the benefits to my D1 if I transfer all of my apps to the SD card? I once tried it, and immediately after my phone started to lag REALLY bad , so I put everything back on the internal memory.
I assume I did something wrong , and would like to know the correct way to do it and why I should.
I've been reading up on rooting/overclocking and the like, and I've made the decision I want to try to overclock. It just seems like it's not running as good as it should be for a phone of its caliber. Killing apps seems to be the only way to improve the speed of the phone, and I think it's unnecessary to have to kill apps every time I do something on my phone. Some people have said that uninstalling app killers and not worrying about running apps has made their phone faster, and I tried that but it was running even more sluggishly than before. So if I overclock to 800-1000 and not kill apps, would I see a noticeable increase in performance? I usually run either PandaHome or just stock Home, and I may install something like BB if I get tired of home replacements, but I don't want to install a ROM at the moment, only if it's necessary.
And I have a few questions before I get started:
I've read a couple threads about rooting/overclocking, and none of them seem to say if it's possible to just get a kernal and overclocking abilities without installing a ROM and wiping the SD card, so is it possible to ONLY get overclocking abilities without installing a custom ROM and wiping the SD card?
For 2.2 OTA someday, I know I need to put my bloatware back on. Do I need to uninstall my rooted software apps also, or do they just stop working?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know that I can put applications on my SD card now that the phone is rooted (very easily using Liquid Frozen Yogurt). Anyways, what I was wondering is if I put all my apps on my SD card, what happens when/if I reflash my ROM? Will I have to wipe the SD card, reinstall the Apps and reback them up top the SD card? Or does it install once the SD card with the programs is inserted?
View 7 Replies View RelatedHow do you get your applications to your SD card? Just can't seem to figure it out.
View 10 Replies View RelatedDo I have to install market apps 1 by 1 every time I flash a ROM? I rooted to Sapphire 0.7.0 a couple of days ago and had to install market apps 1 by 1. Is there a way t back just those apps up and somehow restore them after flashing a ROM?
View 6 Replies View RelatedThere's a lot of instructions floating around for unrooting the droid and what makes the most sense to me is to let the phone handle factory reset thereby bringing the phone back to its original out of the box configuration. By reset I'm referring to booting with power+x vol up+camerra and choosing factory reset from the list. Can someone who's done the reset on a rooted phone confirm that SU permissions are gone after? Also, does the reset delete all apps, system settings and user data and bring the phone back to a true factory state (including going back to OS 2.0)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedToday I purchased a higher capacity micro sd card. There is a similar thread but no info on apps that are instaled to the card. If I just copy everything to the new card will the apps still work? Or do I need to move all the apps to the phone and just transfer my media, bookmarks etc?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my Droid X to 2.2, When I try to move apps to my SD card only certain apps will allow this. Many apps have the "move to SD" button disabled. Is this the way it's supposed to be?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to clean my SD card with applications on it, but it's not obvious where those apps reside. I understand they may be encrypted, which is fine. I have no intention of copying or trading them. I just would like to know what NOT to delete so that I don't mistakenly erase them from my card.
View 1 Replies View RelatedNow that Google has released the source code, has anyone explored the possibility of installing raw Android 2.0--sans Sense UI--on the HTC Eris (or Hero for that matter)? I wasn't able to find anything on search, but maybe I'm just not searching right. I know that would mainly forfeit multi-touch, but I'm just curious...
View 1 Replies View RelatedDisclaimer - Try this at your own risk. I'm not liable if you brick your phone. This is a simliar process for installing updates on the Moto Droid.
NOTE: I DIDN'T LOSE ANY DATA AFTER THE UPGRADE, but some people might. I didn't have much installed/setup. My gmail and contacts synced up, my messages were still all there, but my home screens were different.
Okay, this is all coming from 1.5.
As far as I know, Leak Jumpers are out of luck. From what i've heard, V3 leak = Official OTA..(or pretty dang close)
First, download this OTA file:
http://android.clients.google.com/packages/desirec/OTA_Desire_C_Verizon_WWE_2.36.605.1_1.17.605.1_rel ease_0420.79112f65.zip
Rename it to update.zip and put it on the SD card in the TOP LEVEL (root) Directory. So if your SD Card comes up as the F: drive, it will be F:update.zip

I'm simply trying to download the SDK for rooting/unrooting purposes, not to develop apps with Eclipse, etc. I've downloaded the USB drivers package in the SDK, but when I right click 'My Computer,' go to 'Properties' and go to Hardware, etc, etc, I do not get a yellow exclamation or any other icon next to my phone. Yes, USB Debugging is enabled. So, without the SDK, I cannot download Amon's Recovery Image, etc.
