Motorola Droid :: Duplicate Messages In Handcent?
Mar 31, 2010I have been using Handcent for awhile. Recently been having problems with duplicate messages in Handcent. I think it started when I switched to Koush's Rom, but I can't swear to it. I use Google Voice for all my calls and text, but I send and receive my text via Handcent using my GNumber. The default client has the duplicates tos, so I don't think it is Handcent's fault but either the phone is somehow duplicating the message or the problem is with GVoice when it forwards the text to me. I can send texts just fine and no one has complained to me about recieving double texts, so I believe it is only my incoming messages. It also isn't 100% of the time, but I would say around 80%.

Dec 7, 2009I've been using Handcent for a few days now, and have found all the threads about people getting two notifications. I'm not having that issue - I've disabled notifications in the stock messaging app.
What's happening, though, is that TWO messages are being SENT when I send a message from Handcent. The GF says she's getting every message twice.

I am confused I have not seen any indication that there was charges associated w using Handcent ... is this info correct or do I need to go back to verizon for more info?

Sep 28, 2010Its not really a problem then an annoyance..does anyone know how I can make it so that when I receive a txt or an email and I open it in another way then the notification bar that my droid notification led will stop blink and the notifications will disappear from the disappearing notification bar? I'm just try to stop the fact that I have to go into LPP settings, make my bar re-appear, erase notifications, then make it so the bar disappears again.

Mar 30, 2010Quick question about Handcent and the notification sounds. My wife's Droid was doing the whole "droid" sound everytime she received a text up until tonight and it stopped. Same with emails. For the past two weeks it has been fine, but now all of the sudden it stopped. Anyone have any idea? I went through and checked all the settings and they look good, but still nothing. I even uninstalled Handcent and tried reinstalling it and still nothing.

Nov 9, 2009Anyone else getting full HTML email properly in their corporate exchange accounts? All my gmail based accounts are showing up with HTML formatted messages as they should but all of the HTML formatted messages on my exchange account end up looking like markup language. I turned off the accept all certs and I'm now able to properly download attachments from exchange just not able to get HTML emails to display properly.

Jan 2, 2010When I first got my new DROID a few weeks ago, new email messages arrived and I was notified by a ringtone, and a blinking green light in the upper right corner. Now that has stopped completely. If I want to check for new email messages I have to manually start the email app and manually select refresh for the app to go out and look for new messages (via Yahoo pop mail). What happened? Is there a simple setting somewhere that got switched?

Dec 29, 2009I can access my AOL, Comcast and obviously Gmail with no problems on my Droid. However I want to be able to access my companies email I have set up through powweb.com (they host my website). Anyway I keep getting error messages that it could not finish set up or sometimes it says Error: check user and password details. I triple checked and made sure I was putting in the right info and then I even went on the powweb website and made sure I was putting in the correct settings and even contacted someone there and they gave me some info to try and help and I am still getting error messages. I have tried POP and IMAP. The exchange account, is a fee based account.

But reliability is Job 1, so I kept chompSMS for a few weeks.Then I heard that Handcent received a major update a few days ago, so I replaced chompSMS with Handcent. So far so good. I got all the features back, and I haven't had one single issue in days of texting. So if you're like me and you left Handcent for chompSMS, you may want to give the new version a spin.

Dec 11, 2009So I was using my the handcent sms app on my Droid today and all a sudden the person i was sending messages to was receiving the messages 3 times. Then all a sudden when i went back to text someone else my whole thread was gone and all my messages had been deleted. Then I try using the stock messaging app and obviously all my threads are deleted but messages send twice, any suggestions?

Dec 28, 2009I tried the steps above, and it didn't work. I then compared it to the steps on the other link, and there it says to do mtdblock4, not mtdblock3
So I typed mtdblock4 instead, and I rebooted from the adb shell in the computer.
The boot animation went fine, and then when I got to my homescreen, I freaked out!
It is all black. Instead of the unlock button, there is a green button with an airplane symbol on it. It says NO SERVICE.
The bar IS transparent, but it has these weird symbols on it, not the normal ones.
AND, to make it worse, EVERYTHING is force closing. I'm getting messages after messages of force closing. NOTHING works.
I can't even pull down the notification bar to get mount my sdcard in order to delete the .apk file from there. All these stupid force close messages keep propping up.
Also, it says that the date is Wednesday, December 31 (the 31 is a thursday, though), and it has a time of 6 hours from now.
NOW,
I am actually still in debugging mode, and I still have access to adb shell.
IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO? I'M FREAKING OUT HERE!
(Why oh why did I have to root my beautiful Droid! I think I killed it!)
