PDF, docx, xls, ppt. Is there an application on the market that allows me to view all these types of files? I have seen a few, but they all get crappy reviews. Anyone have one that works for them? Also, is it free or paid?

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy searches all bring back ways to transfer files using my Windows Explorer on my PC Interface via USB and on Android "Es file explorer" using wifi.
I use ES file Explorer to view shared folders on my PC via wifi. I want to do the same thing only faster through USB. Similar to how you connect the android to your pc and it shows the internal sd and external sd in windows explorer.
For example... I want to browse my vast collection of "Justin Bieber's Monkey confiscated by German customs for excessive spanking" pics on my pc to find one that looks good as my android wallpaper. I dont want to use wifi and cant load the 74GB of pics from my pc on my 8 GB SD card on my Android to go through them.
Im trying to figure out if the Eris can only detect wireless routers with certain authentication types? My phone does not recognize my wireless router, yet all other mobile devices and laptops are able to see and connect just fine. I'm using WPA2 encryption type for the pw, which is over 30 chars. long. Is this an issue?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using a nice widget called "Timeriffic". You can set up different notification profiles. 6:30 - 10:30pm I get all notifications. After 10:30pm I only get phone calls. Are you aware of a application that does this for email, wireless and other services as well? Was thinking it would be nice to set up a profile that stopped email polling at specific times to save battery life. I usually put the phone into airplane mode...but would like something automatic.
View 8 Replies View RelatedA couple nights ago, I installed a picture frame widget from the Market. Nice black frame, just what I wanted. Since then I've been getting unsolicited Spam texts. I don't know for sure, though, if its the widget causing the trouble. The reason I suspect it now is that there was no screen detailing what types of permissions the app had when I chose to install. I didn't think anything of it at the time, since it was supposed to be basically an inert widget. Now I'm regretting my naivete. So, I've uninstalled the pic frame (and Messaging Widgets just to be safe). Anything else I should do at this point? I don't do any banking or buying on my phone, but still.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to do something very similar (in terms of appearance) to the app details activity of the Market app. It looks like a cross between linear layout (not all rows the same), list (scrolling nature), preferences (headings). My guess is its a linear layout in a scroll view (ignoring activity header/footer) and the headings are just hard coded.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've seen a few other threads on this subject, but none that addresses my need which is to not only find the app in the market via the market uri, but display it as if the user had navigated to it. The closest anyone has gotten to this answer is to show how to bring up the Android Market app and browse for the app you want which shows the single result in a list that the user must still select to get to the screen I want to display.
Here's my existing code that does exactly that:

I had an edited png for the market icon in the vending apk but when I applied my edited png's to Ivans rom with the market fix it seems to have changed the icon back to the original market Icon. When I first loaded the rom it showed my edited png for the market icon but after my first reboot it seems to change the icon back to the original. I assume that the market is updating upon reboot so I pulled the vending apk off my phone and my edited png's are still there but its still showing the original market icon. Anybody else with an edited market icon notice this or any ideas of why its going back to original? I have tried this a couple times and it always updates after first reboot...

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to download the SMS app from XDA and the guy has it up as a zip file. I download it and extract it, and it's a folder with random crap in it. No apk.
Then I read that I just change the file name. I'm on a Mac, so I change the filename and it verifies if I want to change it from .zip to .apk and I say "yes." Put it on my card and Astro still doesn't recognize it. It's list, but it's an icon with a window and a gear in front of it.
I installed the Vanilla email app, no problem. Not sure what the deal is with this one.
I sent a pdf file from my corporate email to my personal email. On my Droid email it gives me the option to save or open. It opens and I know it saves on my sd card. How do I find it and view it after that?

Now I have to publish an update to this application to fix some little bugs, but I am afraid that downloading and installing the update will delate the local database associated with the previous version.
I would like to know how the update system works. Will installing an update completely delete all the apk, files, databases associeted with the previous version?

View 19 Replies View RelatedI am working on an application where I need to display some locations on a map and in a list view where the user should be able to toggle between these views(activities?). I want the toggle button(s) to be in my custom titlebar like in the images (if they are attached). What is the best practice for this? Tab view seems like a solution but can I customize the tab buttons? Should the map and list be in different activities or the same? Now I have two different activities one extending MapActivity and one extending ListActivity but no way to toggle between them. Is it possible to load activities into a FrameLayout?

I am looking to create an app with plugin functionality. What I want is to allow a separate plugin "app" to provide me with the view, and take care of the updating of the view that I will use in my list adapter. Essentially, I want the separate app to take care of the bindView and newView methods of my adapter.
I am looking at RemoteViews, but I am not sure if that is exactly what I need, if it would work, or maybe it's what I have to use, since it would be cross-process.
Anyone know of an app that would let you view a webcam on your Droid? Keep an eye on the daggets at home while I'm away? Would be cool, but If It dosen't exist wonder why?

I bought them on the VZW website and got both for around $22 bucks each. I've been happy with both even though I haven't been driving much. Has anyone seen a car dock that doesn't block the camera? Mine does. I wanted to launch Qik or Ustream Broadcaster while I drive around. Just thought it would make for some cool video.
