View 2 RepliesI'm as I'm deciding whether or not to get the iphone 4, and I'm wondering if any exciting Android phones will come to the AT&T 3G network. I'm planning on staying with AT&T as I'm grandfathered into the unlimited data plan and I do like their coverage and being able to use voice/data simultaneously.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm wanting to move over from symbian. Been a happy user for many years, but Nokia simply seems to be heading for a fall in all respects. This silly Ovi thing which will never take off, and the rapid decline of the quality and innovation of their handsets is the final nail in the coffin for me.However, I can't see any Android handsets that do it for me.While I think the operating system is miles better, there seems to be a massive drawback for Android phones - the imaging. There's not a single one with a decent camera - the hero and galaxy both have 5mp, but the images taken by them are nothing in comparison with all the Nokia generic 5mp CZ ones.So is there anything coming up that I would like? I noticed the Samsung behold 2, but that seems to be US only. Not to mention it might not be an better than the galaxy camera.I really don't want to go back to Nokia, but since I use my phone as my main camera, it has to be reasonably good. I know about the upcoming SE beast, but that's got a 4" screen, and I sold the i8910 because it was simply too big to comfortably operate.So.is there anything that could interest me? All I can see is the behold 2, and like I said, that seems to be US only (I'm UK).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI had an HTC Desire (actually I had 4) before I got a refund due to a whole host of technical problems. Given that the problems I encountered don't seem to be widespread (mostly concerning the vibrate mechanism failing), I am thinking I may have just got caught up in a bad batch and am considering trying again.I tried other phones but nothing really compares to the Desire at the moment. The iPhone 4 looks nicer, but the OS bores me to death and it seems there are far more technical problems with the iPhone than the Desire at the moment.I have looked around for other upcoming phones and, aside from the Evo 4g which is not in the UK, I can see no other alternatives to the desire. Am I missing any other options?I don't consider the Galaxy S an alternative as it looks and feels like a cheap plastic toy.
View 15 Replies View Relatedjust about 3 weeks ago I went from an iphone 4s to the Galaxy S4, and literally up until a couple days ago everything has been going smoothly. Even texting. But recently , texts from an important number (a number that used to have no problem coming through) are not coming through. So I found since the other phone is an iOS device, and my previous phone was iOS, I had to turn off my iMessage and disassociate my Apple ID from my iphone. I did both of these things, but now this number that is trying to text me is saying the texts won't even send.
View 1 Replies View RelatedPlease help!Been waiting ages, has anyone got it or when is it coming out?
View 21 Replies View RelatedJust picked up the EVO 4G and looking to root in order to remove the Sprint apps and other bloatware (Peep, Footprints, etc.). I'm just trying to find out if it will be possible to use OTA Sprint firmware updates (i.e. the inevitable 2.2 down the road) once the phone is rooted, and if so, will it reset the phone (delete all data) or merely revoke root access? Down the line, I'm not so concerned about having root access, mostly right now with removing the excess.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust saw this article at Brighthand. HTC Hero Getting Android OS 2.1 in Early Spring.I would assume that may mean the Eris is also going to have to wait until Spring time as well?

View 49 Replies View RelatedMy gmail was coming in pretty fast, now today it isn't. I have to manually refresh it now. Maybe I changed something, if so can you direct me where I need to check please? They are not showing up in my notification nar at this time (after refresh) either. I really like that bar too! Also, the data sycnronizing or connected HTC Sync icon (right by the gps and 3g icons) keeps coming on and off every few seconds. Is this normal? While I'm at it, the 3g icon's arrows (up and down) do the same thing all the time.I'm a yahoo guy and setup my gmail to import my yahoo, now all day it hasn't been when refreshing, etc. Gmail issues today perhaps? I think from all of my reading on here and messing with the phone I did something perhaps?
View 7 Replies View RelatedAnyone else have this problem? about 1 out of 4 calls the people on the other end (whether they call me or i call them) can hear me but i can't hear them. just happened again, though this time i tried 5 times in a row to make a call and it apparently went through but i had no audio. finally on the 6th try i could hear. also, i received a call but the phone never rung.
on an unrelated note i just had to resign into google. and a couple of forced close problems. hoping this isn't 2.1 related. though i had the audio problem before.
I am running 1.5..When I get a 2nd incoming call my phone does a lond double beep and cuts out current call..I can't hear the 1st caller and they can't hear me...Has anyone had this problem and if so how can I fix it...Verizon of course has never heard this complaint..I did a full reset...Even with just stock apps it does this..They offered to send me a refurb one...
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I just recently updated to the 2.1 and I've been having lots of trouble with contacts. Every single one of my contacts in my call history is listed as unknown even though I have them all in "people". Furthermore, when I go to Messages>Compose message and type in a person's name in where it says "To" they do not come up in the search results despite being part of of my "people" contacts. Is there anyway I can fix this without having to reset my enitre phone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I got my new Eris, the Verizon guy offered to swap my contacts from my old phone to the new one (as usual). He did so. After getting home, I noticed he'd also downloaded all the accumulated contacts 9 mostly crap) from my Google Mail account as well. I went and deleted them all but now I keep getting a notification saying that I deleted TOO MANY? It then gives me three choices, one of which is delete them. The notification keeps coming back.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone have a problem with the onscreen keypad not coming up when a call is in progress? My credit card company called me with an automated message to notify me about possible fraud on one of my credit cards. At one point to continue with the call, I had to press "1", but the onscreen keypad would not come up when I tapped on the keypad icon. I kept tapping but nothing happened, and ended up losing the call. The keypad icon has worked on other calls, just not this one.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I ended a call and went back to the home screen. I wanted to text someone. But when I pushed the message icon the end call screen kept coming up and when I went on the internet and went back to home screen later on today it brought up google home page over and over instead of the message app. I am using the one that came with the phone. I am on 2.1

Some how cities that I have never added show up on the weather widget. New York and Detroit come up often.

View 23 Replies View RelatedWith people on here asking what the difference between the Eris and other phones are, I stumbled upon this article and thought I would share. It's the EVO 4G vs. the Nexus One vs. the Incredible. The last two will be on VZW, while the EVO will be Sprint only, I believe. Verizon Droid Incredible vs. Sprint Evo 4G vs. Google Nexus One -- Spec fight! | Android Central. Do you really need to make the switch? This should help you. These will be the best phones (for how long, no one knows) by the time this summer rolls around, so if you're breaking your contract or something similarly crazy as that, read this. This is just a fraction of the research you need to do before you make a decision like that. You may decide the Eris is the best for you.
View 33 Replies View RelatedI have a moto droid now and I am unhappy with it. It is way to bulky and I never use the pop out keyboard. I am thinking of getting an eris. Should I make the change to an eris? Does anyone think the eris will get 2.2? Should I just save up to get the incrediable?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone get an email offering a training seminar on the Android phones? I just got it today.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am receiving a replacement Eris tomorrow, but before I get settled in with it, I am curious to see how common the issues I've had with my two previous Eris's? I'm listing out the issues I've had, just state whether you've had the same issues.
1 - Phone losing 3G coverage and having to restart phone for it to reacquire said coverage.
2 - Up to two minute delay between pressing "Call" and call actually being placed.
3 - GPS unable to track/find you.
4 - Browser scrolling erratically.
5 - Unable to answer incoming call (phone rings, screen goes black, hit call button, nothing happens, phone then states "missed call").
6 - Touch buttons unresponsive.
Essentially, when I receive my third Eris, I am debating whether to go ahead and find issues with it and demand another device, or if the issues listed above were mere coincidences with two different phones.
I'm curious about what your experience has been if you've had to get a replacement phone. Have the bugs on your old phone been resolved, or are you still having glitches - either the same old ones or new one? Your evening quiz: Did you have to install OTA or was 2.1 already installed? If you had the problems with poor battery life, or poor signal, before, do you have them on your replacement?Anyone have any *new* bugs arise on the replacement that you didn't have before? Was the replacement (presumably a refurb) in like-new condition? Did you just pull the SD and swap it before sending the old phone back? Does it make a difference if you return it to a Verizon store, or directly back to Verizon?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI notice on forums that alot of People and apps have barcodes as avatars that can be scanned right from our phones (cool). My question is how / where do I make one for myself?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI moved to a different town after buying my Eris. I changed my service address at verizon.com but my phone keeps showing my old town as it's default location on the clock widget and in other apps. I know the clock widget has a change city setting, but my small town doesn't show up in their cities database. Is there any way to change the default home location of my phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm so thankful for this place, but there's so much info I'm not sure I can read it all fast enough!I have a couple quick questions(I just got my Eris yesterday)...there are 2 things I want to do:
1) decide which notifications I get...for example I don't need my phone to let me know I have FB messages or updates or emails...I'll check that on my own, but VM and missed calls I'd like to get a notification(tone and flash deal)
2) How do I shut off the vibrations when I'm touching the phone in any way? I don't really need it to vibrate at all...never been a fan of that
I plan on letting the battery drain down all the way before fully charging it back up, and my husband and I are getting the nifty better batteries too.I just want to remove any unnecessary(totally spelled wrong) things...And I did install an app killer.what is the concencus on this? Should I just uninstall it? I don't use a lot of these things so I thought it would be good to kill some apps unless I need them on demand.
