Nov 12, 2010I got my phone on Orange UK and was wandering if anyone has managed to get the official Froyo update through Kies for a branded Orange UK Galaxy S?Every time I check Kies tells me the latest firmware is on my phone, but I'm sure I read a post from Beards stating all Galaxy S phones should be able to get the update by 11th and its the 12th now and still no update showing for me.

Nov 17, 2009I'm wanting to move over from symbian. Been a happy user for many years, but Nokia simply seems to be heading for a fall in all respects.This silly Ovi thing which will never take off, and the rapid decline of the quality and innovation of their handsets is the final nail in the coffin for me.However, I can't see any Android handsets that do it for me.While I think the operating system is miles better, there seems to be a massive drawback for Android phones - the imaging.There's not a single one with a decent camera - the hero and galaxy both have 5mp, but the images taken by them are nothing in comparison with all the Nokia generic 5mp CZ ones.So is there anything coming up that I would like? I noticed the Samsung behold 2, but that seems to be US only.Not to mention it might not be an better than the galaxy camera.I really don't want to go back to Nokia, but since I use my phone as my main camera, it has to be reasonably good. I know about the upcoming SE beast, but that's got a 4" screen, and I sold the i8910 because it was simply too big to comfortably operate.So.is there anything that could interest me? All I can see is the behold 2, and like I said,that seems to be US only (I'm UK).

Jul 1, 2010I had an HTC Desire (actually I had 4) before I got a refund due to a whole host of technical problems. Given that the problems I encountered don't seem to be widespread (mostly concerning the vibrate mechanism failing), I am thinking I may have just got caught up in a bad batch and am considering trying again.I tried other phones but nothing really compares to the Desire at the moment. The iPhone 4 looks nicer, but the OS bores me to death and it seems there are far more technical problems with the iPhone than the Desire at the moment.I have looked around for other upcoming phones and, aside from the Evo 4g which is not in the UK, I can see no other alternatives to the desire. Am I missing any other options?I don't consider the Galaxy S an alternative as it looks and feels like a cheap plastic toy.

Sep 20, 2013just about 3 weeks ago I went from an iphone 4s to the Galaxy S4, and literally up until a couple days ago everything has been going smoothly. Even texting. But recently , texts from an important number (a number that used to have no problem coming through) are not coming through. So I found since the other phone is an iOS device, and my previous phone was iOS, I had to turn off my iMessage and disassociate my Apple ID from my iphone. I did both of these things, but now this number that is trying to text me is saying the texts won't even send.

Jun 7, 2010Just picked up the EVO 4G and looking to root in order to remove the Sprint apps and other bloatware (Peep, Footprints, etc.). I'm just trying to find out if it will be possible to use OTA Sprint firmware updates (i.e. the inevitable 2.2 down the road) once the phone is rooted, and if so, will it reset the phone (delete all data) or merely revoke root access? Down the line, I'm not so concerned about having root access, mostly right now with removing the excess.

Brother I am on stock jellybean I have never rooted never flashed my device it says this after the official jellybean 310 mb update and I have already has a fight with Samsung over this 5 months back approx whenever I got the phone it so happens that this piece is a replaced one the previous one I had had problems with it so I got it replaces and as soon I got it replaced and opened it (it came sealed like a new one) sir I let the Samsung care guy update the firmware via Odin and I never saw what the status was when it came so I had a fight with Samsung I said they gave me a modded phone out of the box and they're fuse to accept saying that the piece was new and whatever happened just have been done by me... They refused me another replacement and since then the status of my device fluctuates between modified and normal once every few boots.. But it never gave me this dialog saying that my device is modified and I will not be able to update ..

Nov 8, 2010I'm just starting to use the video camera in my vibrant. Overall the video quality is excellent but sometimes when I'm doing indoor shooting, the video has an orange color overlay. Occasionally this will correct itself to a nice natural color part way through the video. I was wondering if this might be due to some automatic color adjustment that I'm not aware of. Has anyone else run into a similar issue?
The HD videos from the phone play very poorly (slow, jerky) on every media player I've tried on my Windows XP computer including VLC and WMP with updated codecs. Converting the .3gp files to .mpg or .wmv format produces a low quality video.

Nov 16, 2010I have had my Captivate for a couple of weeks now and love it except for one major issue. I keep dropping calls -- The back light comes on randomly and then my chin hits the end call button or other keys and I lose the call. I have had no success figuring out how to disable the backscreen from coming on during a call or if there is another solution that would work. I do not want to return the phone. Can anyone think of a solution?
