View 4 RepliesMy phone when in vibrate mode doesnt vibrate when i receive a text, but does if i receive a call, all settings are as they should be for it to vibrate....
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe one problem i've not been able to resolve is when i take phone out of my pocket, i often hit the volume control button, which takes the phone out of vibrate mode and turns on the ringer. has anyone found an override or another fix for this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI wasn't sure where to post this so I figured I'd just throw it in the general forum and see how it went. Does anyone else get kind of irritated by the way you have to set the volume/vibrate setting for notifications? I want ONE control that will put the entire phone on either silent, vibrate or ring. For some reason I can't choose a master sound profile, I have choices for each individual messaging app.. I really just don't get it, I'm almost dumbfounded by how insanely involved it is to just get a vibrate notification or none at all. Granted I have had and INC since the week it launched and love this phone, I just don't get it. Am I missing something? I put my phone on VIBRATE and NOTHING VIBRATES unless in the program's settings I have vibrate checked, which means it will vibrate all the time, in vibrate mode, silent, doesn't matter. Is there any way to make it so whatever setting I have my phone volume set too or what i would consider to be the "master" volume is what my notifications will do? I realize this is a bit of a rant but I'm kind of flustered over this. I don't understand why the volume control doesn't just control everything collectively. A good example would be, if my phone is on vibrate and someone tries to TikL me... I don't want the sound to come through, which it did while I was in a meeting... not good. Are all android OS phones like this or just HTC? (I will try and explain myself better and maybe edit this post, i just needed to blow off some steam because I feel this is a rube golberg way of setting sound profiles..
View 5 Replies View RelatedI notice in the Android Default Voice Recorder that can sense how loud is your voice and show it to you in UI parameter .Can i use this from the intent or how can i program a code that sense the loudness of the voice in Android.
View 3 Replies View RelatedTo those that have gotten the incredible early (lucky bastards!), how is the sound quality and volume through the headphone jack? i currently have a moto droid and might switch to the incredible. one concern is the output through the headphone jack. the droid is very quiet through the headphone jack and before the 2.0.1 update had a terrible crackle on the left channel. does the incredible sound good through the headphone jack? any crackle at higher volumes? does it get loud? really loud?
View 27 Replies View RelatedI have the external speaker (the one on the bottom rear of the phone) volume set to MAX but for use as hands free in the car, I found the volume to be tinny and not nearly loud enough. My guess is that there aren't any settings I'm missing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOK. I asked this a different way but I'd like to get some more input. The loudness on the phone is definitely lower after the 2.1 update. To the point that the speakerphone can't be used in the car while under 1.5 it could be used (it was very loud). A lot of discussion on this topic and the only fix given is using a leaked program that is copyrighted. Is there a way to change the phone settings for loudness without using this program? It is almost like they applied that EU loudness mandate. Makes the speakerphone useless now for me.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi seemed to have lost the phone vibration when receiving text messages even though the option is selected in sms/settings does anyone have any ideas?
View 6 Replies View RelatedHad a strange problem this morning where my desire has decided to stop vibrating. Checked all of the settings and vibrate is turned on but nothing. Not even feedback when typing on the keyboard. Any ideas?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed when i installed the 2.2 OTA Update last night that when i turn off my Desire now it doesn't vibrate...is there away or an app to restore this function.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen i get sms message i get the notification light but it does not vibrate despite all settings set to vibrate. also, how do i set up sim lock? i.e. when i turn my phone on i need to put in a 4 digit code to activate the sim?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI like Lockbot, for the swipe and different picture, but i cannot find out how to remove the vibrate when unlocking?I've tried everything. There is just a "Sound" option, not a vibrate.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use Handcent but I don't know how to turn off vibrate when receiving sms. I have it unchecked in the settings of the phone but not sure how to turn it off in the app itself.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any way of changing the settings for the Vibrate profile so it makes a small beep when it rings or you get a message. The items are all greyed out. I use it when I have my headphones in or on a train and would like a small noise to let me know if I have a call or message.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWas wondering if theres any lock screen app that allows me to silent/vibrate my phone... (got root)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get a simple vibration working and according to the api docs(http://developer.android.com/reference/android/os/Vibrator.html) all I need to use is this: public void vibrate (long milliseconds)
Turn the vibrator on. Parameters milliseconds How long to vibrate for.
However the behavior I am seeing is not what is described. Instead of a number of milliseconds, it seems this parameter translates into an "intensity"?
I tried: vibrator.vibrate(200);
And I got a sustained vibration which didn't stop until I exited my app. Initially I thought perhaps the api docs were wrong and the parameter was seconds, not milliseconds, so I tried: vibrator.vibrate(2);
This time I got the same behavior, i.e. continuous vibration, but the vibration was very gentle.. almost in-perceptible. This leads me to conclude that the parameter translates into an intensity, not a time.
Is it possible that this is a "feature" of the particular device? In my case HTC Desire.
I'm running 2.1 as my crappy telco hasn't distributed an update to 2.2, but it worries me that this behavior may differ from device to device.
Sorry if this has been bought up in the past but how do you get the phone to vibrate on incoming messages? I have the phone set to vibrate on incoming messages but does not work. does vibrate for phone calls though.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAll I want to do is create a simple "vibrate" profile that turns phone calls and text messages to vibrate. I have the call part but the messages just come in silently with no vibrate. I have the following in the task:
1) Vibrate on Notify: On
2) Vibrate on Ringer: On
3) Silent Mode: Vibrate
I have a Droid X with the OTA 2.2 rooted and when I put the phone in Vibrate the phone will not vibrate at all not for phone calls, text, or email? I have "MINI INFO WIDGET" and when I go in there to adjust the volume to vibrate it will work but then when I try to go back to Sound Profile I have to manually adjust the sound again? I have Vibrate Widget and when that is selected it goes to silent only. I tried Uninstalling MINI INFO and VIBRATE WIDGET but I still have the same result sooo it can't be the programs.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded Handcent and love all the options that it gives. However, there are times when I set my phone on silent and do not want anything to vibrate. I have went through all of the settings and notifications and changed everything to "never" vibrate. But still when I receive a new message it does the 3 or 4 vibrate tones. I am sure I am over looking something, but I am gettng a little aggervated.
View 3 Replies View Relatedis the speakers equal to the HTC Desire? Or better? how can the phone ring louder when it is put in a bag? if it is already on maximum volume? does the SRS and Dolby Digital really have a difference? I'm seriously afraid of all those things before I buy a DHD
View 8 Replies View RelatedDHD such a great phone, only let down low speaker volume.I hardly can hear phone in my pocket.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy volume is high....the highest node, but still on a high street when I ring someone or someone rings me I find it hard hearing them (although at home the sound is not too bad). I didnt have this prob even on a cheap handset I was using previously....is the volume genuinely low or is it a prob with my handset?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI use my Desire in the car quite a bit, and as I don't have a bluetooth hands free kit, my old one got smashed in the boot when I dropped a big tool box on it. Dumb ass, I'm using the inbuilt speaker on the phone. While for the most part, this is fine, I would like to increase the volume slightly. Obviously not enough to blow the speaker. I know there's an app/mod for the headphones volume, but what about the speakers volume? Anyway of increasing that?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI use in-ear headphones which usually perform at very high volume. That is to say, I have to put the volume very low on the phone for an optimal use.
However, my HTC Desire, even at the lowest possible volume, is still too loud for my fragile ears. Is there any way to fix this and change volume settings?
I've noticed many threads on the volume levels of the HTC Desire, all to do with the speaker volume for music, notifications and alarms. I have no problems with these, they're perfectly acceptable to me. However, the in call volume on this phone is ridiculously low, if there is any noise in the room at all I can't hear a thing and this is with the volume maxed. Using headphones or the speakerphone it is fine. Is there a fix to increase the in call volume beyond the current maximum?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI think it might be normal, but my volume rocker is a little lose in its fitting. It's not going to fall out or anything and it looks normal, but it does wobble quite easily. anyone else have the same?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI am probably missing something blatantly obvious. However, volume at max for listening to music and its just not that loud. Is there any way to crank it up?
