Is there any way of changing the settings for the Vibrate profile so it makes a small beep when it rings or you get a message. The items are all greyed out. I use it when I have my headphones in or on a train and would like a small noise to let me know if I have a call or message.

Is there a quick and simple way to change Sound Profiles? maybe a shortcut or a widget or something. I can't believe that every time I want to move from one profile to another (gooing into a meetiong for example) I have to press:- Menu / Settings / Sound & Display and then select the profile.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Droid for about 5 months now, and I've tried many of the profile apps. Unfortunately, the one thing that I'm annoyed with when it comes to the Android system is how it handles profiles-- specifically in regards to Vibrate. I simply want to be able to have sounds on and vibrate off, and sounds off and vibrate on. However, you have to set each program (gmail, email, messaging) to have vibrate on, to utilize vibrate. BUT-- what if you want to quickly switch to a low volume sound only? I haven't seen an app that offers this yet. So, you have to go in and turn off the vibrates... Really dumb shortful on Google's part in my opinion. It's actually causing me to consider going back to a windows phone *shudder* (windows 7 perhaps). Anyways, if I'm missing something, please enlighten me. I've been through EVERYTHING (rooted, not rooted, DroidMod, Cynogen, etc, etc, and back to 2.1 OTA).

I want something that allows me to switch among: completely silent, vibration without ringer, vibration with ringer. I currently use the free app "Profiles' by "egg 'n stone". It's ok, but I was wondering if there's anything better.
I know there are plenty of widgets to enable/disable ringer and vibration; I tried several, but most didn't work well, especially when I tried to combine ringer and vibration: i.e. they were ok if I only wanted to enable or disable one of the two, but not both. Coming from Nokias and the Iphone, I must say I'm really disappointed there isn't soemthing integrated in the OS to switch profiles (like with Nokias) or at least a physical button to enable/disable the ringer, like in the Iphone.
I am looking for an app, that say when I go to bed at 2300, it auto silences. It goes back to loud at 0600. When I get to work at 0800, it silences again. Yet, when my GF calls, I want it to always override and ring no matter what time it is.Are there any programs like this that will work for what I want?

These are all things that I didn't have to deal with on the blackberry. I know they are different devices but I use my Phone primarily for work. I'm afraid now that I'll miss important messages or voice calls..
- Phone goes Mute (ringer)... No idea how it gets there. Probably a bad finger swipe on the home screen. Is there a way to disable this?
- No easy change from profiles (notifications, ringer, etc...). I tried a few apps but they all seems to fail at turning on/off notifications for e-mail/gmail.
- don't receive my messages (gmail), seems like it doesn't sync all the time
- gapps crashes all the time when downloading an app from the market.
- Random calls...
- Didn't use the browser, battery is 70%. Put it down for a movie (2 hours) and then battery is now 20%... Browser used the battery 50% according to the phone. Switch to the browser, was on the google.com home page.
I did search on all of these and they seem to be pretty much standard issues that people are having. Are they?Other that that it seems like a great phone. But like I said, I'm afraid of not getting calls sometime because it gets turned to "mute".

When I am working I like to turn of my ring tone (leave on vibrate) but leave my message tone as normal. at the moment the only way I can see to do this is to manually turn the ring volume down.Now thats pretty simple and only takes a second but I was wondering if there is a way to create profiles instead? On my Nokia E71 for example I have a work profile and a normal profile which I just switch between when I need to.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an incredibly annoying problem with my People contacts, where if I link a contact's Facebook account to their profile on my phone, People also decides to add in their phone numbers! This means I end up with duplicate phone numbers to choose from (for example, when selecting a contact to send an SMS to) or numbers that have been incorrectly added to Facebook by the contact (made up numbers or incorrect international dialing codes). All I want is to link the Facebook account and NOT have the contact details automatically added. The only contacts I have set up to view in People are my Google contacts - 'Facebook for HTC Sense' is unticked.

Before the Andriod 2.2 upgrade the toggle, could turn volume up and down, change to vibrate, and change to silent; however, now with Andriod 2.2, you can only turn volume down and switch to either vibrate or silent, you cannot choose which on you would like. I want to be able to select vibrate or silent just from using my toggle switch instead of having to go into setting every time.
