View 2 Replies View RelatedHow to" on how to get my phone to VIBRATE for:
- Calls
- SMS
- emails
I can put it in SILENT mode and get nothing. If I put it in VIBRATE, then go into Settings>Sound and Display I find the Silent mode checkbox selected. Hence, I don't get any vibrations for SMS or email.
I used to have this working. Not sure what the hell happened.
I like to put my phone on silent but keep the vibrate on. Does anyone know an app that does this. I'd also like to disable the volume controls at the side of the handset because I sometimes knock this and that turns the ringtone back on. Is this possible.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create something similar to Blackberry Messengers "PING" function. I want certain people to be able to make my phone vibrate even if I have placed the phone on silent mode. I have tried to use Setting Profiles to do this, by creating a profile (let's call it "Profile1") that turns on notification vibrations. I also created a rule that would activate Profile1 if I received a text message from someone containing the phrase "PING".
But when I test this out, the Profile1 never activates. As I've messed around with the rule, I've also tried having the rule activate based on the receipt of any text message (i.e., leaving the "*" in the contents field), and that does not work either. Any suggestions for those of you familiar with setting profiles, or if you know of another application? I have an EVO 4G.
I've seen a few other questions about how to keep vibrate on when a phone is switched to "silent" mode, but that doesn't quite do what I'm looking for. I want to keep vibration disabled while the ringer is turned up, and to automatically enable vibrate when the ringer volume is set to vibrate, as opposed to just disabling the ringer and leaving the vibrate setting wherever it was previously.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my droid x last week and I like it. I only have a couple problems. One I can't seem to getnmy phone to vibrate when receiving txts or calls when in silent mode. I went into settings and I have vibrate set to only vibrate in silent mode but it doesn't.Also it may be just me but it seems like other phones I have the in call volume was extremely loud. My old phone I could hear the person clear as day even holding the phone away from me. With the droid x I have volume maxes out but its not white as loud. Its not that bad I can still hear but I was just wondering. My other speakers such as media work great and are extremely loud. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor the last 3 months I've been turning my ringer to 'medium' (1/2 the bar) before bed and turning off my notifications for yahoo and sync so my gmail alerts won't wake me in the middle of the night. Then my alarm will go off as normal in the morning and I have to turn back on my yahoo notification sound and click the sync button to get my gmail messages.Just now my better half informed me that on his Dinc you can have it on silent or vibrate modes and the alarm still goes off as normal. I tested it on mine and it was the same. Okay, I'm half annoyed because I've been taking all these extra steps to silence my phone before bed and half annoyed because what's the point of having silent mode if the alarm is accidentally set during a meeting or a movie and it will go off? I'm also 1/2 pleased (yes, too many halves) that I now can just avoid unnecessary actions with my phone before bed every single night. My old LG Voyager had an "alarm only" setting (in addition to vibrate/silent /ringer) which makes more sense to me than "vibrate with alarm ring" or "silent with alarm ring". If my Voyager was set to vibrate and the alarm went off, it would just repeatedly vibrate. I am somewhat worried (always paranoid) that this is some kind of glitch and I'll have it set to vibrate overnight and one morning instead of ringing for my alarm it'll just vibrate over and over and I won't wake up. Being late to work is one of my biggest fears Is this the norm with other Dincs? I tried searching but there are so many alarm threads and questions and I am too tired to keep looking.

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if any of the ROMs re-added the old 2.1 feature where you could switch from Volume on, to Vibrate only, to Silent mode on the phone. Since 2.2 it's either Vibrate with sound or vibrate in silent, and you have to edit the settings menu itself to get "just" silent or "just vibrate. Do any ROMs add this functionality?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI used to have a motorola droid and one of the features that I really liked on the unlock screen there was a silent feature which is still there on my droid x where I could put the phone in silent mode. That's great but I want a vibrate option also. On my droid I could login and use the volume down key and the volume would go down on the ringer and then it would go into vibrate all mode, and then silent mode. On my droid x it goes straight into silent mode without a vibrate all mode. Where is my vibrate all mode? I want it back!
View 4 Replies View RelatedSeems like froyo broke the option to have a ring mode, silent mode, AND a vibrate mode separately?
Personally, I'd like to be able to be notified discretely in social situations without having the ring on, BUT also the convenience of being able to turn everything off with a quick swipe. The vibrate is pretty dang loud.
Has anyone noticed that Silent mode - when accessed via the Widget that comes up when the power button is held - also turns vibrate off. One would think vibrate should stay on to alert an incoming call "silently"
I've been using Menu> Settings> Sound and Display to turn sound off and leave vibrate on. Does anyone know an easier way ?
Can anyone help with android 2.2 silent/vibrate mode issues? Before the Andriod 2.2 upgrade the toggle, could turn volume up and down, change to vibrate, and change to silent; however, now with Andriod 2.2, you can only turn volume down and switch to either vibrate or silent, you cannot choose which on you would like. I want to be able to select vibrate or silent just from using my toggle switch instead of having to go into setting every time.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAnyone having issues with their phone changing itself to Silent mode? Every morning, I switch to Vibrate before I go to work. At roughly 9:00, the phone will then change itself to Silent mode without me doing anything. The only thing I can think of is that I used to use the app "Settings Profiles" to do changes for me automatically. I wasnt crazy about it though so Ive uninstalled it. The program no longer shows up for me so I dont think thats the problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got the update to 2.2 on my Droid and I am having a slight issue. Usually whenever I go to school, I would put my Droid in silent mode and then when done I put it into vibrate mode. Now with the update it seems that I cannot do this. Here are the options that I want. What must I do to get them:
Vibrate mode: Vibrate for incoming calls, texts, emails, etc.
Silent mode: No vibration or sound for anything at all.
Before 2.2 There was a vibrate only option if you rocked the volume down just before the silent all option. Now, I can either only have vibrate with audio and a complete silent option; or a vibrate all option with no complete silent.
The vibrate only was great for things like movies, meetings, etc. The silent was great also when the vibrate itself is loud enough for an entire room to hear the buzz. Is there a script or an option I'm overlooking that would allow me to get that back?
I'm running BB v0.3, OC'd 1100 Max.
I have a Razr M on CM10.1 - 4.2.2, and Facebook Mesesnger vibrates even during silent mode when I get a message.I would think Silent Mode overwrites any app priorities, but I guess not.
I have a tasker profile to set my phone to silent mode between 10pm and 9am only if the phone is plugged in, so my phone is on silent all night, but if I get a random facebook message, I wake up to the vibration.
Is there a way to mute all notifications (preferably set them on vibrate) and still have the phone ring when someone calls. I found many apps that do that for certain contacts, but is there a way to do this for ALL calls?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter the update, the shutter sound is not silent when in silent/vibrate mode. Sony always had this one in a bag. Why does it fail now? Please fix this Also, I am not sure if this is bug, but to activate camera with camera button, now you need to long press the button, whereas before you just had to tap. [Is it a bug or a fix?] But, the previous mentioned is a bug. Shutter should not make a sound when the phone is on silent mode or vibrate mode.

View 28 Replies View RelatedTwo issues that are bugging me...
1) Is there a way to avoid notification sounds to take place during media playback, mainly music player, without having to change my sounds profile to silent, or vibrate?
2) All of a sudden my phone is taking a little long to load SMS conversations. Is there a way to fix that? I feel as though my Snapdragon shouldn't lag when I open a text.
My phone when in vibrate mode doesnt vibrate when i receive a text, but does if i receive a call, all settings are as they should be for it to vibrate....
View 3 Replies View Relatedthe screen has stopped locking. When i press the end call button the phone sleeps but the screen doesnt lock. I do have the 'require pattern' etc selected in the settigs, so it should work. it used to work, can anyone tell me how to get it back? spare parts doesnt work. Also, When i press and hold the end call button, the only option that appears is 'power off'. It used to say flight mode and silent mode too. Finally it appears that my phone will not receive calls. texts and outgoings fine, but no calls any help really would help, and i would like to avoid doing a hard reset.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI miss my Blackberry choices for notification, in particular, phone only. A quick one press button for ring, vibrate, ring phone only, silent. I use profile and find it a little too in depth. I want something simple. I also think there may be a gremlin or two as I have found my settings changed without my doing anything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know there are other threads on putting your phone on vibrate, but haven't found an answer to my particular issue. When I'm in the lock/unlock screen, I can go two ways. Swipe right and the phone unlocks, swipe left and the silent mode is on/off. Is there a way to make it go into vibrate mode on/off instead of silent? I NEVER use silent but I ALWAYS use vibrate, and would much rather make that quick switch at the lock/unlock screen than using locale or volume control after unlocking.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm finding that when I switch to "Sound Off" on my lock screen, it's turning off vibrate too. Does anyone know if its possible to change the default behavior of "Sound Off" to be "Vibrate On", or at least not to affect things that are already on vibrate?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOn my HTC desire, when I'm choosing a notification sound I no longer have the choice of just having it silent while I can still have the phone ringer on. I was able to do this with my old Droid back in the US and just wondering if anyone knew a way setup their Desire this way. Just I'm at work all day and still want to be able to hear calls but don't want a ping everytime I get an email or a text msg. Really appreciate any help people can give here.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone has a really annoying habit. Every night before I go to sleep. I switch it to silent mode. But if a call or a text message comes through overnight it vibrates. The next morning I find that the phone is now in vibrate mode. I did have Foxy Ring installed, although it was not activated. I wondered whether it could have anything to do with this, but I've now removed it from the phone, but the irritating behaviour persists. Short of turning the phone off overnight, how can I get a quiet night's sleep?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAny way to quickly hit a button to mute the phone when you go to sleep? Don't like my phone ringing when I am sleeping. On my G2 I just hold the power button and the mute option pops up. Or if I power on I can slide it to the right which mutes the phone. Side it left and it powers on. My gf has the HTC Desire Z I cant seem to find it. Only way I found out was to adjust the volume to lowest setting but this takes time there must be an easier way.
