I'm looking at buying some of these Vuzix iWear - buy at Firebox.com but they need video out. Do Desire's have this function? Also, is there any reason NOT to buy these? Has anyone tried them?

From my understanding the Desire was originally supposed to have HD video recording, but this was ditched. Is it possible that a future firmware upgrade could allow HD recording, or the phone physically incapable of recording in HD?

Even when i do a search on my phone find it comes up with nothing. I cant even find a video player in which to look for them. Can someone give me a guide on which folders video's should be placed into, and how to find them on my phone and view them?

View 2 Replies View RelatedBefore I upgraded to Froyo my HTC Desire camcorder function worked fine.After the update it crashes after a few seconds of recording video. I have tried all the resolutions for record but they all crash the phone.I did read that sometimes formatting the SD card helps, but I have don't that and used a different SD card and the problem is still there.Any help greatly received.

When in photo albums, instead of a thumbnail of the video in question, the phone created a thumbnail of a video I have recorded previously and then deleted. Does anyone know how to make the phone recreate all thumbnails for the media files? I am leaning towards deleting all the files in /sdcard/DCIM/.thumbnails/ but not sure this is the way to do it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to the Android OS having been a Symbian (2nd phone is a Nokia N97) and Windows Mobile user previously. My question regards a copy of Family Guy (Something, Something, Something, Dark Side) which I purchased yesterday. The standard DVD also comes with a digital copy on the DVD which, when inserted into the drive brings up a choice of transferring the file to my computer to be copied over to my Desire as either a iTunes file or a Windows Media Video (WMV).Ideally I want to avoid the iTunes route as currently I have no use for that program on my system so I would like to be able to use the WMV version. When I copied the file to my Desire, it didn't play and the phone didn't seem to recognise it. Can anyone please give me advice on how to play a WMV on my Desire?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have tried to transfer an mp4 (Terminator salvation) from a laptop to my phone and when I play it, I get the 'cannot play video' message.I thought that I may have done something wrong when transferring so today I also tested it via Bluetooth with a friend who also has the desire but on o2 (I am with Orange). I turned on the ftp server and it took the file via, went to 100% completing the BT transfer but again, when I try and play it I get the exact same message. This file was also mp4. This file works on his Desire (it is a 26 minute cartoon called the Boondocks) but not mine. I cannot understand the inconsistency as you would think that the same would apply to both mine and his.My last phone was a n95 and I am not someone who regularly takes an interest in new gadgets coming out, making this big jump (only ever used Nokia's and Ericson's before the desire). However, I have had a new phone (always top of the range through upgrade) every 12/18 months since 2001 so I am very much used to adjusting to new phones, albeit not the 'smartphone' generation. So I am not a technophobe but nor am I a tech geek. But I cannot for the life of me work this one out.
