Can anyone tell me the whys and wherefores of downloading content onto my desire? The main question I suppose is which formats will it play? Will it accept avi? Any other tips and advice gratefully accepted.

I am considering an Android based 'phone, in particular the Motorola Dream X or one that has an HDMI output, but before I take the plunge I would like to check this:
The HDMI o.p on the 'phone is connected to an external television.A film is being watched by several people. During playback a call is received on the Android 'phone.Can one make and receive telephone calls during playback (routed to a bluetooth headset) without interrupting the film.
Can anyone recommend a good slim case and film?

I have downloaded the Adobe Flash 10.1 app. I can find the BBc Iplayer (Mobile) website should I be able to download programmes when I am at home via Wifi to watch later when i don't have access to wifi, or is this going to be too complicated for somebody with limited technical ability?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am in a deployed location in Afghanistan and within my compound, we utilize satellite internet and broadcast it via WIFI just for us who have paid. Some of the guys here have implemented a few security features so other people around us can hack our network. The WIFI is encrypted with WPA2 and a password.After that to surf on the internet on my laptop I have to input a proxy address of 10.10.8.2, I can connect to the wireless via my Desire, but I cant surf the internet, check email, or do anything that requires a data connection.Other people here have no problem getting their Ipod touches and Iphones on the WIFI.Is there some setting I am over looking because to me there are not a lot of settings I can change in the first place.If I need to download a program to help, please give info how to do so without an internet connection directly on the phone.

I can connect and mount droid and go to DCIM and copy the pictures and video I shot. When I paste it on my PC the video plays but there is no sound. Are there any apps out there that take the movie file and apply the right codec to it so that the file can be downloaded in 720p? Is this something HTC is planning on updating or did they do it intentionally for some reason? Can I upload files to youtube from my phone in 480p?

And not just audio podcasts like Google's app, you also get video podcasts as well! Though it does seem like it takes awhile to sync them, it is a way cool addition that makes doubleTwist closer to that all-inclusive experience that iTunes gives with all the different media.

I then inspected the lens and noticed a thin film over it and it had small air bubbles in it. I tried to remove it but it did not come off easy and began to tear so I stopped immediately. Is the film normal?

I have tried all the resolutions for record but they all crash the phone.I did read that sometimes formatting the SD card helps, but I have don't that and used a different SD card and the problem is still there.Any help greatly received.

When in photo albums, instead of a thumbnail of the video in question, the phone created a thumbnail of a video I have recorded previously and then deleted. Does anyone know how to make the phone recreate all thumbnails for the media files? I am leaning towards deleting all the files in /sdcard/DCIM/.thumbnails/ but not sure this is the way to do it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have owned my HTC Desire now for two weeks and can download apps and games from the Android market with no problems, but when I try and download a ringtone or mp3 song from any ringtone application I just get a instant "ringtone download failed" message and nothing happens. I belive this could be a setting stopping music / ringtone downloads. I have tried four different ringtone apps and it happens on all of them.
