Hello, I recently got a HTC Desire and I've experienced that it often hangs up on the person I'm talking to because my ear touches some button on the display. I've tried turning on the screen lock, and that works sometimes but not always, so I would like to find a permanent solution.

Everytime I am on a call for more than about 2-3 minutes my phone hangs up - any idea what could be causing this? App killer maybe?
View 16 Replies View Relatedim not sure why or what ive done but when i try and shut the phone down it just hangs at the "shutting down" screen for hours. it went 4 hours lastnight without shutting off. the only way to get it to stop is to pull the batt or it sometimes works to plug it into the computer with the usb cable. ive also noticed that mixzing wont read the sd card, keeps saying memory card is unavailible. could it be the same thing in both cases? the memory card is having issues? ive only had the phone for 2 weeks. i can save to and read from the card when mounted as a disc drive and i can shoot and save pics and videos as well as double twist reading from the card just fine. is there something im missing? this is driving me nuts im on telus, android 2.1, not rooted or modified in any way.
View 6 Replies View Relatedhi i bought a htc desire and it was fine for a week and in the last three days when iring or some rings me it hangs up while talking.i have loads of coverage here in shepparton vic australia then allof a sudden it has no signal bars. went to the telstra shop today and done a sim replacement but i dont think its the sim card. need to know if anyone else has had this problem and what to do .
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen phone locked and somebody calls, i drag down to pick up: in this very moment phones shows like it would follow the procedure and pick up, but it hangs like inbetween for 4-5 seconds and THEN picks up. Meanwhile i can press Menu, Home, etc, nothing happens.. Sometime don't have that luck and the call drops. Most of the time i'm lucky and can pickup.

Issue: I've flashed to another ROM and now want to restore my back-up that I made via Clockworkmod. The restore seems to do fine, but when I reboot my phone hangs at the boot screen.
In the meanwhile I have flashed the recovery from clockwork to AmonRa. To restore the clockwork back-up, I boot into clockwork recovery via ROM Manager. Maybe I should reflash to clockwork, but that didn't work till now.
I have just got my HTC desire and just noticed that I can not receive calls when on my WiFi and on the mobile Internet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLately I can be outside in Central London with 4 or more bars showing on my HTC Desire but can't make or receive any calls. This happened in the Putney area last week and yesterday I was in Camden so I thought it must be a network problem until my mate with an Orange iPhone sat next to me and starting making calls with no problem. Anyone else finding this? The phone says its dialing on the display but seconds later it says call ended. I do try various different numbers just to check but get the same results.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHad a HTC desire now for a couple of weeks and Ive come across an annoying problem, when I make or recieve a call and raise the phone to my head the screen goes blank which in it's self is fine, but after the call has concluded the screen remains blank and there appears to be know why to get it to leap back into life ive tried moving /jiggling the phone and pressing all the buttons including the power, the only way seems to be to remove the battery and force a reboot. Anyone else experienced this or have any ideas that might help solve it?
View 49 Replies View RelatedI'm running a non branded desire at 2.2 but its developed an annoying problem.Whenever i make a call or answer a call it defaults to loud speaker ON and i have to press the button to disable it.I can't see any menu setting anywhere to cause or change this so any idea how i fix this?Also,maybe unrelated but whenever i first boot the phone it comes up with an icon saying "car mode on" which i have to disable by clicking on it (but this doesnt stop the speaker phone behaviour)Any idea how i can get speaker phone to default off?

View 31 Replies View RelatedSeems all the posts are about the opposite but I rooted and things were good, installed leedroid last night and just recently turned off my wifi and that's when I noticed that I had no data? I'm on Telus and far from using all of my plan. Very odd! Re-flashing with "AuraxTSense v8.0 HTC Sense 2.2" I do get the "limited service" warning at start up.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't know what to do. I tried to make a call this morning and it kept disconnecting, even though it was showing signal. So I decided to turn it off. This took over 15mins. Finally it went off. I switched it back on to find it will only make Emergency calls and I don't know why.
I've turned it off multiple times now, even taken the battery out etc and nothing works. Its been very slow the last couple of days, and frozen a couple of times. I've only had the phone 3 weeks from new (T-Mobile!)
I have had my desire HD for a week and although very impressed it started to shut down prematurely even during phone calls, I did a factory data reset and all was well for a day then started shutting down again for no reason. Has anybody experienced the same thing and is there affix or do I need to send it back?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI?ve had my HTC desire for about 3 weeks until now not had any problems, but now i can?t seem to make or receive calls or text. When I try to ring someone it just beeps and ends the call. When someone rings me it says unavailable. Nor can i send or receive texts. I?ve spoken to my network operator and everything is fine on their end and also got a new sim card from them just in case it was a sim card fault. Anyone know what the problem could be?
View 4 Replies View RelatedLet's start from first: I bought a t-mobile desire from someone. when I got it, it was rooted and an official htc middle east rom flashed on it (...and unrooted).Both seller and me have a local sim card (Not t-mobile) but it worked for him and not for me.It displays a "Limited Service", "Emergency Calls Only" message. when I search for operators it list my operator but when I choose that android can't register on it.
1. I rooted it again and flashed LeeDroid rom on it but no success
2. Seller did a hard reset before giving it to me (I guess it generated the problem)
3. Sim card is correct
4. Seller is not scam!
I'm not sure if it's an issue with my Desire or my SIM card or network (T-Mobile). Basically, I will have a full signal but if a person tries to call me will be forwarded to my voicemail. I will then receive a text informing me that I have a missed call. Also, when calling a contact, there will sometimes be a long delay before it finally connects and begins to ring.

I also have no problem listening to music through the speaker or headphones.My phone is a black orange branded HTC Desire running the 2.1 software. I am using the 3 network.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used my phone with no problem yesterday (made and received calls), then went to sleep and charged my phone overnight. When I woke up this morning, I tried to make a call and just got "this number is not in use", thought it was something to do with that persons number. Tried to call some other numbers and always got the same thing. I asked my brother to call me and it just went straight to voicemail. Then, when I opened "Phone" I noticed that there was something wrong with my last few calls made. Phone numbers here in Iceland are 7 letters, for example 1234567.. but all the recent calls I made looked like 6171234567, that 617 always got added before the number I tried to call and that made it fail. I only see 1234567 when trying to make the call, when I look at the phone while listening to "This number is not in use", I never see that 617 until I've hung up and check the call log. I did try to call +3541234567 though (354 being the Icelandic country code) and that went through fine. But if I don't use it, the 617 gets added. Has anyone ever experienced this problem? I thought it might be some setting so automatically add a country/area code before a number or something like that, but didn't find anything in settings.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed my phone has a tendency to drop calls when switching from HSDPA to 3G. My phone dropped calls about 5 times today, so I thought I'd do a little test... I rang someone (display showing 3G) then refreshed my GoogleMail app (display went to H) to see if the call stayed connected... well... it dropped the call. I did the exact same thing again... dropped the call. I tried this about 5 or 6 times using different apps to basically put my phone in HSDPA mode and it is dropping the call when switching between 3G and HSDPA...

When I answer the call there's no one there and the other side hangs up.The problem started when I got my new phone so I don't think it's my provider.Also it can't be a prank caller.If it was I should've at least heard something on the other end of the line.Does anyone know what causes this problem? A bug perhaps?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm on O2 UK and if my wife rings me from her O2 mobile or from our home landline my Desire doesn't ring but shows the missed call icon in the notification area. what happens on the phone you ring from i.e my wife�s mobile or our landline all you here is 2 short rings then the phone goes dead.I only have wifi switched on and not the mobile network.that is to say I don't have the 'mobile network' option ticked in 'wireless & networks' screen. Has anyone else had this problem?PS the phone rings fine when I ring from say my work mobile or my work landline and also from other mobiles including ones on O2 UK. >PPS tried turning off the option 'Quiet ring on pickup' but that hasn't made any difference either
View 12 Replies View RelatedI've just noticed a strange problem today, when I'm browsing the web on HSDPA or 3G and a someonce calls, the call takes over and I can take it, now when I'm on GPRS the call goes to voicemail, I've had my Desire since last Thursday and I have a 7 day return to shop swap out still in place (luckily) but is it a settings thing?
