Sep 3, 2010My Desire (on Orange UK) is taking about 15-20s to connect when I dial a number. Anyone else experiencing this?

HTC Incredible : Ignoring Calls While Taking Phone From Holster
May 21, 2010It seems every time I get a phonecall, I go to remove the phone from it's holster (leather horizontal type) and look down at the phone to get the "missed call" message... Doesn't matter if it's on the 1st, 3rd, 5th ring... it seems like it's auto-ignoring based on my attempts to get it out of the holster. Can someone tell me if this is a magnet deal, a setting i'm setting, or if there's an option I can turn off/program I can install that makes it harder to ignore calls? Perhaps I'm just brushing the ignore button? Unrelated, it seems if I get an email and don't look at my phone, it continues to beep at me every few minutes until I look at it, is there a way to tell it "notify once, then stfu"?

Also, is it possible to connect my nexus 7 to my Netbook for taking Pen Notes (similar to a graphics tablet)? I am planning to use my Nexus 7 for textbooks + recording lectures. I am using my netbook for notetaking and I usually use a GraphicTablet for anything I need to draw or write down with. I use the OneNote application. Any possible way to do the same w/ my Nexus? Also, not all rooms have wi-fi connection! So I can't connect w/ wi-fi. So basically I need something with a USB connector for the graphic tablet function!
Samsung Captivate :: Phone Calls Not Taking Priority Over Other Sounds?
Sep 14, 2010I have looked and cannot find the answer to this puzzle. The other day my wife came home and said that while she was talking on the phone she got a text message. She has a "Joe Dirt" sound notification for it and said that it began to play loud in the phone while she was talking. The other person could not hear it but she could. Today I am using RingDroid to make a ring tone and I get a call. The screen switches over to answer or not answer with no other options meanwhile the song is still playing. I figure if I answer the phone the call will over ride the music... wrong! As soon as I answer the music stops in the speaker and starts playing through the ear piece really loud. I can barely hear the other person through the music so I put them on hold while I try to navigate back to ringdroid which has vanished so I can push stop. While I'm trying to get back to it, it finally stops because it was set to play for 30 seconds. I go back to the call and ask if they heard that and they say no. This has to be fixed. What do I need to do?

Sep 6, 2010my x10 is fully connect to the internet and i am even receiving my emails. My problem is that despite this i can not make or receive calls as they just say 'call ended' before it even connects! when i try to ring my number it goes straight to voicemail.

Sep 16, 2010When the Bluetooth is on and I am near my laptop, incoming calls are connected without the phone being touched. I have seen a few comments about this in other threads, so it is not just me and this is the 3rd replacement phone, so it is not just a one-off fault.

Nov 20, 2010I really want to take screenshots of my desire to show you all, but i cant get it to work on my desire. When i open the sdk ddms tool my desire doesnt show on the list, I have followed the guide found on page 1 in the "show us your desire screen" thread, but there seems to be a problem: I installed all the software including the usb-driver package for the sdk-software. I checked the "usb-debugging" on the desire.
So I read that maybe i should update the device from the Windows devicemanager. First of, my desire doesnt show, it shows only a "ADB" - is that my desire? I tried upgrading the driver on the ADB, but even if i browse to the USB-folder in sdk it says "no driver found".
HTC Desire :: Dolphin Browser HD Taking Up Internal Memory?
Sep 30, 2010Dolphin Browser continually takes up more and more memory. I have it set to use SD CARD STORAGE, but it still accumulates a lot of data on internal memory. I can go to Manage Applications and "Clear data" on the phone, but I then have to basically re-start DOlphin, import bookmarks again, and then takes me 30 minutes to reorder them in the order that I like them to be in. Very frustrating!
1) What is this DATA that is taking up internal memory?
2) Where on the memory is it stored? Can I access it using Astro and delete it manually?

HTC Desire :: A2sd / App2sd Taking Up Space In Internal Memory
Oct 18, 2010I've setup the ext3 partition and it does show the symbolic link to the sd card. Also using quickinfo to check the space of the partitions and internal memory. I tested by installing google earth (20meg) and it seems like it does take space from the a2sd partition but also reduces my internal memory space as well. What or why does it do this? I only have about 110 megabytes left.

Aug 16, 2010Before I updated to android 2.2 and updated to latest Googlemaps the navigation was perfect. It calculated the route in seconds and was a joy to use. Since the updates, it is taking ages to calculate route, so long in fact that I exit the programme and start again, and then I just give up and dig out my atlas.

Aug 4, 2010I installed HTC Sync 2.0.28 on Win XP machine and Have HTC desire connected to it. Desire is able to connect to HTC Sync and works fine.
I have setup eclipse with Android SDK on the same Win XP machine.
Problem comes here ..
HTC sync works fine as long as i don't launch any Android SDK sample applications through eclipse on to virtual device. From that point phone no longer able connect to HTC Sync . Only Solution is i have to restart my workstation then only Desire is able to connect to Synch again. Restarting phone is not working.

Sep 23, 2010having loads trouble trying to connect, on o2 network (but phone was intially vodaphone) when i purchased it got APN settings and all sweet , then htc sent update to my phone and since then no joy , went back to repair centre , recived it back yesterday and it's still the same argghhh.Htc say it's because it has been on vodaphone and this is causing the problem (even though it worked fine before they upgraded software!).

Jul 3, 2010I have checked the USB debugging (to on, presumably).Downloaded HTC Sync on PC as the PC is not recognising the phone at all. It simply says when trying to open in My Computer as "PLease insert disc into drive E." I've set the Default Connection Device to all options; HTC sync, disc drive (not bothering with internet sharing) - neither work. However the charge only setting does work.The USB lead supplied doesnt look like a car charging type. How can you tell? The HTC Sync screen on the PC doesnt even register that the phone is connected.I have no interest in syncing with Google contacts or calendar, however I would like to be able to transfer calender info and contacts to the PC, and transfer from the PC, music and applications to the phone.

Aug 25, 2010I have recently updated to Froyo/2.2 on my HTC Desire (on Vodafone contract). According to Vodafone this is now the standard HTC firmware with none of their nonsense installed. Now I cannot connect to wifi either at home or work. It can see the wireless networks OK, but gets stuck in a loop trying to connect - it seems to be trying to obtains an IP address, gives up and starts again endlessly. Having searched around the web this seems to be a common 2.2 issue. I've tried many times with forgetting the credentials, etc and have done the full factory reset. Not sure what to do next.

Jul 10, 2010Lately I can be outside in Central London with 4 or more bars showing on my HTC Desire but can't make or receive any calls. This happened in the Putney area last week and yesterday I was in Camden so I thought it must be a network problem until my mate with an Orange iPhone sat next to me and starting making calls with no problem. Anyone else finding this? The phone says its dialing on the display but seconds later it says call ended. I do try various different numbers just to check but get the same results.

Apr 20, 2010Had a HTC desire now for a couple of weeks and Ive come across an annoying problem, when I make or recieve a call and raise the phone to my head the screen goes blank which in it's self is fine, but after the call has concluded the screen remains blank and there appears to be know why to get it to leap back into life ive tried moving /jiggling the phone and pressing all the buttons including the power, the only way seems to be to remove the battery and force a reboot. Anyone else experienced this or have any ideas that might help solve it?
