View 1 Repliesis there an app available that shows call duration on screen once you disconnect, or is it a setting somewhere within the phone that I have just missed...?
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently, for no reason apparent to me, my HTC Desire is making no sound whatsoever when I receive or make a call.I can hear calls if I have the speaker on or if I have a headset plugged in. I also have no problem listening to music through the speaker or headphones. My phone is a black orange branded HTC Desire running the 2.1 software. I am using the 3 network.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWeird problem which I encountered for the first time today. The missus called me and I couldn't hear her, and she couldn't hear me. We could text each other fine though. I'm currently using a Desire on T-Mobile UK with the first version of 2.2 (complete with German apps by mistake).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been having problem with the carrier, they use to say I have called many numbers and have sent many SMSs I didn't really call or send.
So I was wondering if there is an app which will record all the calls' duration, SMSs sent and 3G/Edge usage.
So I could have a report later and compare it to my phone bill.
I would get outgoing call duration a call, I thought to get when the persone to the other side answer my call, but with PhoneStateListener we can get the state of a call, but PhoneStateListener changes state to CALL_STATE_OFFHOOK immediately when the outgoing call starts and not when the person to other side answers, so i can't get the effective time of call during a conversation.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to drop a call after some time duration let me know how to send the event to it or how to throw event on ACTION_DIAL intent
View 2 Replies View RelatedNow I write one app and have some problem - I need to show real-time outgoing call duration. But I do not know when I should start timer. I must start when get answer from other side. I tried TelephonyManager.EXTRA_STATE_OFFHOOK -- but it's state is when I press call-button..
OFFHOOK is the state when call is placed.
So we should be notified when the call is received. How can we get that?
When I should start count outgoing time?
easiest way to view a call's details, to see call duration? The only way I can find is to go to a contact's info, view call history, then get the details of the call there.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI activated my phone Friday night (2 days ago) and started using the phone only on Saturday morning. A few calls are going through but almost ALL are being disconnected back to the previous/home screen after one or two rings -- INCLUDING, now, *611 and *228. Called tech services this morning and am now on hold (15 min. so far!), from a land line. Texts from my family have not shown up, since yesterday and this morning. Did a soft reset this morning.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've only had my phone a couple of weeks and pleased with it now that I have installed many of the recommended free apps.
I have one problem though with the bluetooth. When I connect to my car bluetooth, everything is fine for 8 minnutes - calls can be made and received but then the bluetooth drops. As this happens when I am driving the easiest way to reconnect is by pressing the connect button in my car (ie not on the handset). It re-connects straight away and then works perfectly for the rest of the journey. This happens everytime I am in the car !
I'm fairly sure the problem is with the phone as my Nokia5800 did not have this issue.
I havn´t been able to find out, how to detect the event (if there are any), when an outgoing call is answered - does anybody know how to do this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an application that is silencing the ringer while it is open, then when it closes it unsilences it. Currently I am doing these two things in OnStart and OnStop. The only problem (and it's a big one) is that when a phone call comes in, it stops my application (calling OnStop), then rings at its normal volume. Is there any way to get around this? I tried using onCreate and onDestroy, but I want to restore the original volume setting as soon as the program is closed, which onDestroy doesn't seem to do. View 8 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is any way (through a tweak or an app) to have my contact's information appear automatically when I receive a call from him/her. For instance, if I receive a call from Joe Smith, the contact card for Joe Smith would pop up with all of his details (address, birthday, notes, etc.).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had many occasions where I haven't received sms from friends. I have a HTC desire with Telstra and I have attempted to resolve the issue starting with the provider. I turned the phone off and on, replaced the SIM card through the provider, attempted to send myself sms to which I received them straight away. I escalated the issue to the level 2 tech support team whereby they reset the network settings on the network side and then followed the above steps again. They came to the conclusion that it was a handset issue. They transferred me to a HTC department whereby I spoke to someone about this issue, and they asked me my initiative to resolving the issue. On top of my encounter with Telstra, I have reset the phone to its original settings, updated the firmware to the latest (1.25xxxxx) aka the Telstra ROM, synced the phone to the pc too.
To continue with the HTC department conversation, he had said to me that if I have done all the above, its a Telstra network issue! I never mentioned to either department that I actually work for Telstra because I assumed they would treat me like an idiot, so I am aware of all the procedures both the company and manufacturer take when dealing with this type of issue, they really handball around until the consumer gives up. In this case my final resort was this forum, to which I sadly am trying the uninstall of chompsms even tho the logic behind how these sms apps work would in my view make no difference to the phone not receiving a message, but I'll try anyway (in addition, I also did all the above with handcent). I will see how this goes. Would anyone believe that the phone itself has the rare issue of going into a type of black state where it turns the network off intermittently? I really have no clue what to do, I am hoping that android 2.2 fixes this, or I may have to try n get HTC repaired even tho they will do all the above anyway.
On other phones I've had not only do you get the normal call history log but also the sms/text history too. I'm assuming the Desire must have one I just cannot find it!

View 6 Replies View RelatedDid a search but couldn't see a solution. I have 3 email accounts set up. All of them work for both send and receive while connected to any WiFi. However, when not in range of WiFi I can receive emails but not send.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHas anyone had this happen to them: not always, but very often, if I quickly reply to a text message, my reply jumps up a place in the thread and appears before the last message, i.e. like this:
(instead of)
Sender: Where are you?
Me: I'm at work.
(it appears as)
Me: I'm at work.
Sender: Where are you?
I've noticed it almost exclusively happens if I reply within the same minute on the clock. If I receive a text at 10:50 and reply at 10:51, it doesn't happen. But if I promptly replied while time was still 10:50 almost certainly my message will jump up the thread and not be the last.
For those interested, I inquired about the EU SAR Rating of the HTC Desire and today received an official response, which as far as I know isn't available online yet.

I have just started using using handcent SMS which i love. Couple of things i am not sure of though. How do i dasable the standard HTC app as i seem to get a notification on both. Also i have moved the handcent app to the home screen but it does not display a numerical display of a received text message (on the app icon) which i liked on the standard app. Is there a way to get it to do this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe update from 1-2 days ago or so, I guess. Now every time the app does it's job, it also gives an additional notice in the notification bar - A triangle with an exclamation point in it letting you know that you missed something. Driving me f'ing crazy! Anyone know how to disable that?...I can't figure it out.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased my new Desire and although I love it, i've noticed two annoying faults! 1. When i send text messages to some contacts, the phone decides to send them not as an sms but as an email or sometime even an mms! 2. My voicemail notifications are being received under one of my Facebook contacts instead of just plain Vodafone! Very weird as my contacts list isnt set to display Facebook contacts even though its an option! Is anyone else having the same problem and been able to fix this? Im sure its just the settings that need to be changed but ive had a play and just cant seem to stop it happening!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had the same mobile number for about 10 years and only ever had one problem with spam text messages, that was 7 years ago. However, since moving onto Android I have received a message every few weeks. Usually they are about wiping debts or accident law suits and come from standard mobile numbers, not premium ones. Is this just a coincidence or have I been lax in some form of personal security with apps or 3G Internet?
