HTC Desire :: Loudspeaker Defaults To ON For Calls

Aug 23, 2010

I'm running a non branded desire at 2.2 but its developed an annoying problem.Whenever i make a call or answer a call it defaults to loud speaker ON and i have to press the button to disable it.I can't see any menu setting anywhere to cause or change this so any idea how i fix this? Also, maybe unrelated but whenever i first boot the phone it comes up with an icon saying "car mode on" which i have to disable by clicking on it (but this doesnt stop the speaker phone behaviour)Any idea how i can get speaker phone to default off?

HTC Desire :: Music Player Defaults To Alphabetical Order When Selecting An Album To Play

Jun 8, 2010

Does anyone know how to fix the default Music player's behaviour when long-pressing on an album and selecting "Play" ?

If you start playing by quick-pressing the album, it shows you the list of songs. If tagged correctly, this list is in correct song order, and will play the album in order from whichever song you select to start from. If not tagged correctly, it shows in alphabetical order.

So far, so good.. can't complain... BUT...

If you start playing an album by long-pressing it and selecting "Play", it plays it alphabetically, regardless of the status of the tagging.

HTC Hero :: Easy Switch To Loudspeaker Mode

Jul 20, 2010

A lot of the time I leave my phone on its desk charger. I would like to be able to set it up so that anytime that I receive or make a call when it is charging the loudspeaker mode will be automatically turned on. That way it can be used as a speakerphone. Is there an app that can do that please?Alternatively is there a little switch widget that I can put on my homescreen and which can toggle the loudspeaker mode on and off? I want this to usable when I first set the phone on charge, so I do not have to fiddle about with the phone when a call comes in.By the way I am still running a stock Orange 1.5 ROM.

Motorola Droid :: Handsfree Loudspeaker Doesn't Work

Nov 17, 2009

Have many of you had the issue that only the earpiece speaker or earphones work, and the handsfree loudspeaker doesn't kick in, unless you're making a call and choose handsfree? This is particularly annoying when listening to music and you want it through the louder speaker, or if you set an alarm, or receiving calls...... Anyhow here is an article: Motorola DROID Experiencing Main Speaker Issues | PhoneNews.com. Surprised I haven't seen more about this on the forum.

Motorola Droid X :: TERRIBLE Loudspeaker - Nearly Impossible To Hear

Jul 23, 2010

I'm speaking as a formal HTC user, Had the HTC Eris for over 6 months, before that, the palm Pre.... and being around my mother with her HTC Hero (cdma) her phone ringing all day long it was impossible to ignore that thing, dang loud and clear.

My previous phones both had VERY loud and rich speakers on them (the speaker the ringer/music/sound affects come out of), even in some noisy environments it was impossible to miss a call when I had service, just the week that I've had the droid X, I've missed several calls either from not noticing the vibrator in looser pockets or its just too dang quiet.

Speaker placement is bad too, sitting the phone on a slighty soft surface like a chair can muffle the speaker to nearly impossible to hear 6 feet away.

I'm hoping the droid X doesnt have a hardware deficiency and that this can be fixed through software... My best buddy has the droid x also, his is just the same, very quiet vs my old Eris put side to side.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Loudspeaker Icon Doesn't Appear Until Conversation Has Started

Sep 9, 2010

When I call someone and I'm in a private environment, I like to hit the top left loudspeaker icon at once so that I can do other stuff with both my hands until the other end answers. But with the Sony Ericsson Xperia, the loudspeaker icon doesn't appear until the conversation has started. Which means first that I have to hold the phone next to my ear until the other end answers, and second that the screen has gone black, and if I still want to use the loudspeaker I have to tilt it or press a button or something (which always feels like it takes forever) to wake it up so that I can access the loudspeaker icon. Can you make the loudspeaker icon appear at once the phone number has been called, instead of .wait for connection.wait while ringing.go black.still wait for some more ringing.screen is black, tilt, tilt, furiously click wildly at screen,Btw, can you also make the phone wake up faster while during a conversation.I have a small problem with it going black when I am calling centers with automated answering where I need access to the numbers to enter selections in the automated menu.

HTC Desire :: Can't Make Calls On Orange

Jul 10, 2010

Lately I can be outside in Central London with 4 or more bars showing on my HTC Desire but can't make or receive any calls. This happened in the Putney area last week and yesterday I was in Camden so I thought it must be a network problem until my mate with an Orange iPhone sat next to me and starting making calls with no problem. Anyone else finding this? The phone says its dialing on the display but seconds later it says call ended. I do try various different numbers just to check but get the same results.

Android :: Gmail Defaults Everything

Aug 17, 2010

I have the X (very nice BTW) and I have a few questions.

Everytime a save a new contact or add a phone number, or anything from the phone is defaults to add it to the Gmail profile. I like gmail, but I'm pretty sure I want my work mates to be on the work account. Is there a way to change that default or does Google really want that infomation?

Can I disconnect gmail? I know... ouch... but it keeps getting in my way. I use gmail, but I need the phone to be a work phone. I don't want Gmail stealing all my contacts. I mean seriously, it scanned my AD at work (awesome) and I saved the person... it went to gmail. When you pull someone off the AD, why does it dup them in Gmail, obviouslyt the phone was smart enough to look there, but not save there?

I need a nice line. My average conact now has 3 linked profiles. I want most in the "phone" and work people in the "work" and gmail...sorry. You don't need to know any of these people.

Any ideas or thoughts.... I hate Google bashing, but I need the phone to act like a smart phone and not a gPhone. (Yes I know who makes it, but even Apple doesn't steal your contacts...ouch)

I've turned it off multiple times now, even taken the battery out etc and nothing works. Its been very slow the last couple of days, and frozen a couple of times. I've only had the phone 3 weeks from new (T-Mobile!)

HTC Desire :: Limited Service Emergency Calls Only

Nov 3, 2010

Let's start from first: I bought a t-mobile desire from someone. when I got it, it was rooted and an official htc middle east rom flashed on it (...and unrooted). Both seller and me have a local sim card (Not t-mobile) but it worked for him and not for me.It displays a "Limited Service", "Emergency Calls Only" message. when I search for operators it list my operator but when I choose that android can't register on it.

1. I rooted it again and flashed LeeDroid rom on it but no success

2. Seller did a hard reset before giving it to me (I guess it generated the problem)

3. Sim card is correct

4. Seller is not scam!

HTC Desire :: Incoming Calls Not Connecting Properly

Jun 23, 2010

I'm not sure if it's an issue with my Desire or my SIM card or network (T-Mobile). Basically, I will have a full signal but if a person tries to call me will be forwarded to my voicemail. I will then receive a text informing me that I have a missed call. Also, when calling a contact, there will sometimes be a long delay before it finally connects and begins to ring.
