HTC Desire :: Text Messages People And Facebook

I have linked my facebook account to my desire and I have a couple of issues that I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with:
1. I received a text message from my credit card company, who are not in my contacts list. The phone has listed the sender as a random facebook contact who is not in my 'people' list. How has this happened and how can I fix it?
2. I have used some of my friends facebook profile photos in my people list. However, when they update their profile picture, the photo does not change on my phone. Can I do anything about this?

Anyone have this issue where some people do not get your sent text messages? I seem to receive text messages without problems but sending text messages does not get to certain people. One colleague at work who is on ATT can send me a text but does not receive mine in return. Similar stories for some other contacts of mine and some are on Verizon as well.

I'm having issues with sending text messages to a few people and they aren't even all on the same carrier.I have been using CM 5.0.6.1 and really haven't had any problem until today.I switched to the stock 2.1 with root because i thought that maybe it was the rom and still these people can't receive my text messages they can send me messages and I receive them but I cannot send them out.I have reactivated my phone twice now and nothing has worked.Any help would be much appreciated.I know I said in the title i can't receive them but I can sorry i'm kind of tired at the moment.

I have the HTC Hero from Sprint. Great little phone. I'm having issues with texting. Here's my scenario.I receive a text from Facebook stating someone wrote on my wall. The from id is 123456789. I then get a text from a friend George. In the list view of of my texts George's text showing under the Facebook number. When I press on the Facebook name it shows the text from Facebook then from George. If I reply it goes to Facebook not George.It also happens under different users, appears to be very random and is causing issues as I'm trying to quickly reply, forget to check who it's going to, then I text someone something I shouldn't have. Not cool.Any ideas how to fix it? I downloaded Handcent SMS as well and that is having the same issue so it appears to be a root droid issue.

What I need is i have pre-defined list of 10 people and I need to send text message (sms only not mms) to them from time to time. There is no Chat needed, no MMS, no threading. Only sending sms to a list. I tried GoSMS, Handcet.. but couldnt achieved.

I've been using Google Voice on my Env Touch for about a year now but only mainly for the sms transcriptions as the Env Touch doesn't have an app for it.
So, here's my main problem. All of my contacts are just in my phone. I don't have anyone's email address as all I do mainly is txt people or send them a message on facebook. I'm wanting to add all of my contacts to my gmail account so when I get my Incredible everything will be there. Right now my sms from GV just has the number and I actually don't know any of my friends numbers, they're just in my phone. *yes, technology can be a sort of burden at times* So I don't have a clue who the voicemail is from until I call into it. Is there any easy way of porting all these contacts from either my phone, backup assistant, or facebook? Also, do android phones take your contacts and your facebook and merge them into your gmail account?

I've just started linking people I have in my phonebook to their facebook accounts manually and I've clicked the wrong persons name in the facebook list. Is their anyway I can rectify this? When I try to edit the contact it does not give me the option to unlink said contact from facebook. Also can anyone please tell me why when I'm trying to search through the people in my facebook contacts it only goes up to the letter B?

I have an incredibly annoying problem with my People contacts, where if I link a contact's Facebook account to their profile on my phone, People also decides to add in their phone numbers! This means I end up with duplicate phone numbers to choose from (for example, when selecting a contact to send an SMS to) or numbers that have been incorrectly added to Facebook by the contact (made up numbers or incorrect international dialing codes). All I want is to link the Facebook account and NOT have the contact details automatically added. The only contacts I have set up to view in People are my Google contacts - 'Facebook for HTC Sense' is unticked.

My People seems to be syncing with Facebook fine (their status updates show up, and it uses their FB profile photo), but when I select "View Facebook Profile", I get the following error message: "The application People (process com.android.htccontacts) has stopped unexpectedly. Force Close."

Tried to send a text to a group yesterday. The group has 14 people in it.
My desire said it was limited to 10 people.
Anyway around this, or have I just not found a setting somewhere.

I have all of my contacts linked to their respective facebook accounts, but the pictures that show up when I go to my People never update with the facebook pictures, they have stayed the same since the day I linked the two regardless of how many times the person has changed their default picture since then. Is there any way for me to change this so the pictures in my People update with facebook? Since they are linked I assume they should be able to do this.

all my contacts are google contacts with several linked to Facebook accounts.When I access my contacts through the People widget, all's good, I only see the google contacts (I've deselected Facebookers in the view menu). However when I access the Messages widget all my contacts are doubled up for some reason. I realise this list is also showing facebook contacts as well as google contacts but even the non-facebook contacts are doubled up.

I have synced my contacts with facebook but when I receive text messages I get their phone number after the persons name and it's annoying and looks crap. Anyone know how to solve this. I know if the contact has multiple numbers it shows but it's showing on contacts with only one number too.

for the last 4 or 5 days frequently, when i'm composing a text the screen with flip back to the all messages page and completley lose the text i'm in the middle of. most frustrating and quite unpredictable. had the phone about 2 months, and its been fine up until now. have done the usual off/ on. cant think that i've changed any settings but i've had a few new apps from time to time.

This forum has saved me from going insane many times now.. but I have searched for an answer to this question but cannot find anything. I had the usual hastle of my facebook contacts getting in the way so I removed the facebook sync in account settings (it was a pain when trying to send a text message to multiple people) but for some reason I can still see my sim card contacts when sending a text message and I cannot find any options in settings to only view phone contacts. When I look at the contacts settings I only have phone contact selected. I dont really want to delete the contacts from the sim as there are some numbers that I want to keep on there incase I ever need them again, so if anyone knows another work around that would be great.

I found a load of old texts when I inserted my sim into my lovely new Desire. I deleted them...now their back again!

I have created a group to send out joke texts etc however when i sent the text to the group i have created some go to their mobile number (What i want) and others go to their e-mail address... I have checked all the settings and cannot find a way to select the mobile number. Also some people that get it sent via text also have an e-mail address saved so it's not defaulting to e-mail for all the contact in the group with an e-mail address...

I received a couple of text messages from Vodafone today, and the Messages app showed the sender as one of my personal contacts! It happened to be the last contact that I edited in the People app, and seems like a bug. Has anyone else seen this? this is on an unlocked Desire bought from mobiles.co.uk.

i'm brand new to this forum (and to android in general)! i just got an HTC Desire through Telus and i absolutely adore it.however i have a very annoying problem.whenever i receive a long text message from a friend (over 130ish characters), the message is broken apart into separate text messages and the messages are not in the order in which they were sent. since i get A LOT of long messages from friends, this is a huge pain in the butt.i don't mind the long message being broken down into smaller messages, my problem is that the small messages arrive in RANDOM order.

I have a HTC Desire, running Froyo on the o2 network. My text messages automatically deleted during the middle of the night, this has happened once before... but paid no attention to it, thinking it a one off. Has this happen to anyone else?

i had my desire i was always faced with the letters in lower case and if i wanted capitals then i would press the arrow pointing up but ive now pressed something and when i start a text all the letters on show are all in capitalsa dn to get lower case i have to press the arrow pointing up.how do i get it back to starting a text off in lower case letters

I own a htc desire which was updated to 2.2 a cpl months back.I sent a text a few mins ago. and then when i came back to my phone all my text history has disappeared. I have not selected the option to delete all old messages, So im a bit confused and annoyed about this.Especially since ive lost a lot of important messages.Has anyone had the same issue? Is there any solutions?

Every few days I seem to lose my mobile connection completely. I try turning it off and on but that makes no difference, I have to turn the phone off completely in order for it to come back. Quite often after I do this I have a text message appear (usually says it is a few days old) from 'Anonymous'. The messages are blank.
Any ideas what is causing this or how to fix it?
