HTC Desire :: Text Messages Going To E-mail Addresses

I have created a group to send out joke texts etc however when i sent the text to the group i have created some go to their mobile number (What i want) and others go to their e-mail address... I have checked all the settings and cannot find a way to select the mobile number. Also some people that get it sent via text also have an e-mail address saved so it's not defaulting to e-mail for all the contact in the group with an e-mail address...

I have the Samsung Fascinate obviously but I'm annoyed with one Android feature. I managed to get only my contacts to sync what I want (not e-mails). However, when I send text messages, the message contacts seems to all the e-mail addresses I've previously sent e-mails to.
Is there any way to get rid of that? And why the heck isn't it the same as my contacts?

Our company uses a blackberry enterprise server, and they refuse to give me our mail server addresses because they don't want to have to deal with starting a pandemic of people getting away from blackberry, one IT guy told me that if I could figure out how to get it to just sync with outlook, I'd be able to use it. any ideas? I've messed around a lot in outlook and can't find our BBES information anywhere.

I use the Yahoo mail android app (as well as gmail). When I create an email in the app and "click" in the "to" field and type a letter I get a whole raft of email address suggestions that are not in the contacts. I've looked in my phone contacts and they aren't there. I've looked at Yahoo mail settings and see nothing there. I've gone to the desktop Yahoo mail an tried looking in contacts there and they don't show up. Many of these are addresses of people that I recognize and have probably either sent or received an email from them but certainly never saved them as a contact. I tried long pressing on the suggested address and it highlights it but no options are given. It doesn't happen in my gmail. I've gone to URL...contacts and they don't show up there. I know I should just switch to gmail only but this is an old address that I want to keep active. I have a Moto X with Kitkat. This has followed me from phone to phone.

I just got married and my old e-mail address had my old last name, so I created a new gmail e-mail address reflecting my new last name. Is there a way to use my new e-mail address on my phone as my primary account (I don't mind doing a factory reset or anything) without losing my paid apps. Like is there a way to transfer the paid apps from one e-mail address to the other?

I have synced my contacts with facebook but when I receive text messages I get their phone number after the persons name and it's annoying and looks crap. Anyone know how to solve this. I know if the contact has multiple numbers it shows but it's showing on contacts with only one number too.

for the last 4 or 5 days frequently, when i'm composing a text the screen with flip back to the all messages page and completley lose the text i'm in the middle of. most frustrating and quite unpredictable. had the phone about 2 months, and its been fine up until now. have done the usual off/ on. cant think that i've changed any settings but i've had a few new apps from time to time.

This forum has saved me from going insane many times now.. but I have searched for an answer to this question but cannot find anything. I had the usual hastle of my facebook contacts getting in the way so I removed the facebook sync in account settings (it was a pain when trying to send a text message to multiple people) but for some reason I can still see my sim card contacts when sending a text message and I cannot find any options in settings to only view phone contacts. When I look at the contacts settings I only have phone contact selected. I dont really want to delete the contacts from the sim as there are some numbers that I want to keep on there incase I ever need them again, so if anyone knows another work around that would be great.

I found a load of old texts when I inserted my sim into my lovely new Desire. I deleted them...now their back again!
I deleted them again...and their back again!
How do I get rid of them for good?!

I received a couple of text messages from Vodafone today, and the Messages app showed the sender as one of my personal contacts! It happened to be the last contact that I edited in the People app, and seems like a bug. Has anyone else seen this? this is on an unlocked Desire bought from mobiles.co.uk.

i'm brand new to this forum (and to android in general)! i just got an HTC Desire through Telus and i absolutely adore it.however i have a very annoying problem.whenever i receive a long text message from a friend (over 130ish characters), the message is broken apart into separate text messages and the messages are not in the order in which they were sent. since i get A LOT of long messages from friends, this is a huge pain in the butt.i don't mind the long message being broken down into smaller messages, my problem is that the small messages arrive in RANDOM order.

I have linked my facebook account to my desire and I have a couple of issues that I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with:
1. I received a text message from my credit card company, who are not in my contacts list. The phone has listed the sender as a random facebook contact who is not in my 'people' list. How has this happened and how can I fix it?
2. I have used some of my friends facebook profile photos in my people list. However, when they update their profile picture, the photo does not change on my phone. Can I do anything about this?

i had my desire i was always faced with the letters in lower case and if i wanted capitals then i would press the arrow pointing up but ive now pressed something and when i start a text all the letters on show are all in capitalsa dn to get lower case i have to press the arrow pointing up.how do i get it back to starting a text off in lower case letters

I own a htc desire which was updated to 2.2 a cpl months back.I sent a text a few mins ago. and then when i came back to my phone all my text history has disappeared. I have not selected the option to delete all old messages, So im a bit confused and annoyed about this.Especially since ive lost a lot of important messages.Has anyone had the same issue? Is there any solutions?

Every few days I seem to lose my mobile connection completely. I try turning it off and on but that makes no difference, I have to turn the phone off completely in order for it to come back. Quite often after I do this I have a text message appear (usually says it is a few days old) from 'Anonymous'. The messages are blank.
Any ideas what is causing this or how to fix it?

I have had the same mobile number for about 10 years and only ever had one problem with spam text messages, that was 7 years ago. However, since moving onto Android I have received a message every few weeks. Usually they are about wiping debts or accident law suits and come from standard mobile numbers, not premium ones. Is this just a coincidence or have I been lax in some form of personal security with apps or 3G Internet?

Is it possible to have all SMS (text messages) automatically stored to the SD card? I recently had to reflash my ROM and as such have lost all the messages I had stored - about 800 or so from my partner and a few semi-important ones from both work and my basketball coach.

This is my first post here. Got my Desire recently and i am loving the phone. Like other i was having battery issues but following the advice here i was able to extend the battery life considerably, so im hoping someone here may know something about an issue om having.
Im using the Handscent app for text messaging. However over the last week or so when i go to open a new message, the application freezes and shuts down. When i go to open it again all my messages are deleted. They are also missing in the standard messaging app that came with the phone.
Has this happened to anyone else? If it did did you find a way to stop it happening?

so today my htc desire has decided that it won't send any text messages.phone calls work, signal is fine, but whenever i send a text it just buzzes and says it's unable to send. i last successfully sent a text yesterday (20th may) at 23:39. haven't installed any apps since or anything like that.i am very frustrated. this is basic stuff here that a phone should be able to do. anyway, eventually it gives up and tells me:"Unable to send message after multiple attempts."

I've been using Handcent since I've had my Desire, but since the last few updates it seems to have developed a fault when sending the same sms message to multiple contacts. If I send a message to say 3 people, it either force closes, or comes up with the error message not sent. If it comes up with the latter, the messages are queued & sent 1 after the other. I was able to do this no problem before, so has anyone else experienced this in Handcent?

When ever I send a text message when I've had no signal but the phone hasn't told me yet I get a failed notification which is fine, but I'll keep getting them until I find the text message and delete it, even then I still get a couple more, deleting the message also means I have to type it again, anyone know how to stop the multiple notifications?
I've downloaded No Signal Alert which should help in the future and Handcent seems to cut the notifications down and bit but I still get a few.

I have a particular problem with the Desire in the format of the delivery report for the messages. It only says 'received', or sometimes 'pending'. I have done some tests, and the pending status does not change when it's actually delivered, and sometimes it will say 'received' when the phone the message is being sent to is switched off.
I used this function (on my trusty old Sony C905) to send messages to phones when they were off, the delivery report would come in with the date and time that the phone was switched on and the message delivered.
Is there an app that I can download to do better management of message tracking? Hopefully the same app that will let me see arabic characters as mentioned in my other query.

Every once in a while I receive an empty text message that says the sender is anonymous and has no phone number assigned to it. It also shows as being saved to the sim card, which is weird coz the others arent! anyone ever received anything like this too? I didn't get this on my old Sony Ericsson w995 which used the same Sim and plan that i am on now.
