Is there a way of showing contact information on the first unlock screen (in case the phone gets lost). I've tried Contact Owner but it adds the information to the 2nd unlock screen - the one with the unlock pattern. Anyone know of an app that can do this? Or is it possible to change the wallpaper for the lock screen ONLY so that I could add it the wallpaper file using an image editor.

When using my sms app, I am looking for a way to display which phone number of my contact is used (mobile, work, home, ...)
The only thing showed is the contact name and his phone number.
With all the sms apps I've tried (stock, hangouts, hello sms, 8sms, evolvesms, chomp, handcent), I didn't find a way to display this information. I always have to do an extra action (clik on contact photo, or title bar) to check if the phone number concerned is 'work' or 'mobile'.
Any tip or a new app to show this info ?
I have recently got my samsung galaxy android phone. Today i downloaded some applications like power saver, no lock, etc. suddenly it started blinking system process information at right top of the screen. I have uninstalled all downloaded applications but system information keeps on blinking. Sometime it is occupying entire right side portion and i am unable to see screen content. System process information like "3.56/5.67/3.84 system_server akmd2 android.process.core" is displaying in low size text. It seems as it is showing information for debug purposes.
I have stopped all services, all application, etc. forcefully even then it keeps on displaying. Can anyone help me how to disable showing such information ?
Since I started installing custom ROMs on my Desire, the contact pictures have been missing in the HTC Messages app. They show up fine everywhere else, just in Messages I see the default grey contact icon all the time.I initially thought it could be a bug specific to one of the ROMs I installed but it's happened with AdamG's 'official' Froyo Sense ROM and Paul's MCR Custom ROM r5 which I'm currently running (actually, I've installed 2 slightly different 'bakes' of this and the problem is there in both).I've tried asking about this on XDA and MoDaCo in the relevant ROM threads but not had any luck. Just wondered if anyone had any idea at all what could be causing this and how to fix it, or at least find out why it's happening.As I said, its literally just in the Messages app that it's happening - everywhere else contact pics show up just fine.

The issue I have is that my sister has our home number listed on her Facebook profile as a contact number. I have linked this profile to her contact.
I have also set up 'Home' as a person on the phone. But when the home number calls me, it shows it as being my sister calling rather than home.
Is there anyway to remove the home number from my sister's contact details without de-syncing her Facebook profile?
Ii haven't made any big changes to my Desire and all was working well. suddenly a couple of days ago i noticed that things slowed down significantly.
exmples: when drawing the unlock screen, there is a big lag till the home screen comes up huge lag in opening programmes or menus
so, the only app i recently installed was the BA (british airways) android app. could this have affected the whole phone?
what steps can i take to check what might be wrong?looking at the SPARE PARTS app, i can see that CPU usage shows a huge bar for "init".i don't know if this is a normal process? anyone got info on this? might have nothing to do with my phone lagging of course.

If I tap the weather info icon, I can do a search and it finds my local weather, but the desktop doesn't update, it stays on Chicago. View 25 Replies View RelatedMy friend had an HTC Desire HD and it impressed me so much i actually wanted to but it off him, even though its about 2x worse in specs than my current phone, but it has the most beautiful user interface i've ever seen.I'm talking about the HTC DHD weather unlock animation.I first noticed it when i asked the friend to make a call and upon unlocking the phone the screen froze over and it started to snow, it was pretty amazed by how good it looked, and how accurate it was since it was really snowing outside.Here it is. I think this is one of the best looking widgets/launchers i've ever seen, and i have a question, not as much as a request.I do know that this is "exclusive" to sense, most likely 3.0, but would it be theoretically possible to rip out the launcher/weather widget you saw in the video? I'm currently using a SONY Xperia GO , and i would like to port the needed things to it from sense (3.0?) to it. How do i do it? i've downloaded 20+ widgets/apps from the play store and didn't find anything ever NEAR as beautiful, or as functional. Most of the apps/widgets require you to click on the widget to see a weather animation, thats not what i want.
How do i port the sense (3.0?) launcher/weather widget? Is there an app that is as functional and looks similar?

If I want to send an email to "Jonathon Blackburn" i start typing "jonat" and a list of emails comes up like: Jonathon Blackburn <jonblack@ Jonathon Blackburn <jonathon@ But the rest of the contact info is cut off, so I do not know which email I am selecting and whether it is office of home, etc. Is there a way to change the font/setting so that it includes the entire email address and whether it is a work or home address?

Anybody else run into this isssue and know a better way to fix it?I'm on stock 2.2 but this happened in stock 2.1 also.

But the contacts when added as a google contact only show up under "all contacts" in google and not on the phone itself.
At first, I worked around this by logging into google to manually switch the contacts to "my contacts" and it then showed up on the phone.
Now, I figured out that when adding the contact on the phone, I have to choose "null" as a group label for the contact to show up on the phone.
Hope someone can help me out with this one.I can't seem to get Handcent to display contact pictures. it did show the ones with Facebook contacts, but I rebooted my Hero, and selected 'fix uid mismatches' which I read would fix this, and now it doesn't show any pictures.
View 6 Replies View RelatedRecently I noticed that my contact icons in the messaging app have disappeared and just changed into the regular "no contact picture" icon. The contact pictures are still intact in my contacts and call log though. I tried handcent, but the pictures are missing there too.
Anyone have any ideas?
I am on Virtuous 2.6 ROM and noticed a curious thing going on with my contact images. I have used Handcent since day one with my Incredible and about a week ago the contact images stopped showing for my most often used texting contacts. I have found that new contacts that text me, or some that havent texted much have images showing, but my family (most used) don't. I have tried everything I can think of. I don't think it is the ROM, I have uninstalled Handcent, deleted cache, reinstalled, deleted all conversations, and even tried Chomp....same results.

I opened my 'Messages' inbox by clicking the Messages icon. At the top of the screen it showed that the message was from my mate Doug, not my brother. So, I opened the actual message by selecting it from my message inbox and it showed that it was actually from my mate Charlie
View 4 Replies View Relatedcould not locate an important phone number which I personally entered on her Gmail contacts on her desktop. I checked her 4G contacts (view contacts boxes are all checked) and that specific contact is still missing while showing up on her desktop contacts. Out of curiousity, we checked both of our phones. Just from A-C alone, she is missing 23 contacts and I am missing 41 contacts. The contacts are there on our desktop contacts, but not on the 4G. I feel guilty since I was the one who talked her into changing from Blackberry. Her Head Nurse warned that she will have no tolerance for screw ups due to android phones. Apparently, she has same issues before with one of her RNs.
