Oct 8, 2010Ever since I got my phone (January of this year) my contact icons will disappear randomly. I think it has to do with the facebook sync because all the other icons that I took pictures for are fine. My "People" list is just messed up in general - the update status shows up under the wrong contact icon, it never loads properly, really laggy, and the contacts who are facebook linked randomly show up and disappear. My phone is completely optimized for speed and performance. Its been almost one year and I still cant figure it out.

Dec 11, 2009On my Hero I have synchronised people's details to the 'People' application from my desktop Outlook using both the HTC sync and Companionlink. But either way, I just seem to get a truncated version of their physical addresses under the 'Find Home' field. When I hit that, I get a map I'm not looking for, and sometimes the full address, sometimes not. I can't see any other way of accessing the full address on the Hero - what am I missing?

Jan 25, 2010Does anybody else find the display of addresses in People app to be very poor. Its all displayed on one line obscuring half of the address - even going into edit mode doesn't show the address in full unless you scroll down the edit box.
I use the People app for addresses quite a bit and it frustrating. Any alternatives out there?

Aug 28, 2009I have an app where I want to list all phone numbers and the associated contact name.I see that there is the Contacts.People table for the purpose of getting all phone numbers and that there is a PERSON_ID to allow me to lookup the contact in Contacts.People.Great.Now I see that all the columns I want are already joined to the Contacts.People.Phones table. But that seems lucky in this case.How could I do the equivalent of the above statement in general if the implementer of the content provider hadn't been so nice as to join for me?

Aug 4, 2010My 'People'/contacts app is linked to my Facebook account but seems to have stopped refreshing/updating when they do things like update their status or profile pictures. I have updated the Facebook app but to no avail; people on the Legend's Facebook page say that it is an error of which HTC are aware and 'working on', but I thought I would check here to see if anyone knew anything else about it. It's not a major problem but it can be rather annoying to see the same status update over and over again.

May 7, 2010In the Gmail app on my Incredible, when composing a message, i start by addressing the email in the "To" field. If I want to send an email to "Jonathon Blackburn" i start typing "jonat" and a list of emails comes up like: Jonathon Blackburn <jonblack@ Jonathon Blackburn <jonathon@ But the rest of the contact info is cut off, so I do not know which email I am selecting and whether it is office of home, etc. Is there a way to change the font/setting so that it includes the entire email address and whether it is a work or home address?

I've got the full page calendar widget, but none of the birthdates I enter for any of my contacts sync over to that calendar. Mar 24, 2014When using my sms app, I am looking for a way to display which phone number of my contact is used (mobile, work, home, ...)
The only thing showed is the contact name and his phone number.
With all the sms apps I've tried (stock, hangouts, hello sms, 8sms, evolvesms, chomp, handcent), I didn't find a way to display this information. I always have to do an extra action (clik on contact photo, or title bar) to check if the phone number concerned is 'work' or 'mobile'.
Any tip or a new app to show this info ?
HTC Droid Eris :: People Vs Phone Contacts
May 21, 2010The 'People' widget has all my phone contacts that I synced with Gmail. The 'Phone' contacts are everyone I have as a friend on Facebook. I do not want all my FB friends showing up in the 'Phone' contacts and there does not appear to be a way to delete them. In other words, there are "friends" I have on FB that I have no desire to call and I just don't want them in my phone. Is there any way to make the 'Phone' contacts match the 'People' widget?

Jan 30, 2010I have both a gmail and an exchange email account and have the contacts from both nicely synched in the people app. HOWEVER, if I select a particular contact from the list and toogle along the bottom to look at the "mail" option, it only shows emails from them that came in to my exchange account. It never shows emails from any of my contacts that originated from my gmail account. All the other options work great for text messages and updates etc, so I am not quite sure how to resolve this so that I can see gmail emails too.

Jan 20, 2010So on my way to class the other day listening to the media player in the car was just fine, I plug it in to one of those little FM transmitter things and it bounces along under my e-brake handle just fine. But when I parked my car and plugged in my headphones things went bonkers. It started skipping tracks, fast forward, and rewinding tracks, and finally started calling people, I called a friend of mine 4 times. When it started doing it again tonight I did some investigating and discovered that it's recognizing my headPHONES as a headSET. I tried it with my roommate's headphones and it started as headphones but if I twisted the plug the little microphone would appear.So I guess this is a 2 part question.
1.) Can I turn off the microphone of a headset through the phone?
2.) Has anyone else encountered this problem and how did you fix it?
Ok that's 3 parts but who's counting.

Jun 23, 2010I have facebook synced up to my contacts so that their fb pics can also be their contact photo, except they only show up half the time. is anyone else having this problem? it was sorta annoying before but now it's really bothering me because I just DL'd the handcent update and now they have the contact pics next to the chat bubble. Is there anyway to keep the pics on there at all times or any reason they go away?

May 17, 2010My phone just did the OTA upgrade from 1.5 to 2.1 last night / this morning. Previously, I had linked my contacts with their Facebook profiles. Now after the OTA update, the links are all but not there. I have two people, me included whose Facebook profile picture still shows. When I go to re-link someone, I no longer get my full list of Facebook Friends to link their profile to.

Apr 11, 2010Well, because no one has any idea how to change from the phone symbol to the index card symbol on the large "people" icons I found another way to do what I want.
I still can't believe nobody knows how to fix that problem but oh well.
Anyway, I found that you can add a people shortcut which adds a small face icon and made my own people page.
It works great. When you tap it it brings up all of the persons info and allows you to choose what action you want.
Just like the large default people icons *IF* you could change to the index card symbol.
Now, the ONLY problem is, I can't get the persons picture to show up on the main page instead of the silhouette pic.
I am synced with google so all my contacts have pics and they DO show up in the info when you tap on the icon but NOT on the main page icon.
I just want to add the pic to the home page icon, any ideas how to to do it ?

Jan 15, 2010So I have it set that my phone is supposed to sync with people every four hours and give me updates, but that rarely happens. Sometimes it's every 15 minutes, sometimes it's every 24 hours. What's the deal?Is there a program I need to ignore using ATK? I leave Gmail, Messages and Clock running all the time. I kill the rest when I think about it.

May 18, 2010Ever since the OTA update, my contacts have been a mess. Before the update, I had the people I put in my contacts and they were linked to Facebook so their photos would show. They were the only ones that would show up in my call list when I went to the Phone app. However now, although my contacts are still just the people I had listed, whenever I go to my Phone app I'm left with a list of every Facebook friend I have. This is especially annoying when I have to see people with numbers like "ask me" or even people I just don't ever want to call. Also, in my contacts, now e-mails and numbers from people's Facebooks are also posted, and I just want the ones I entered in my phone to show up. Can anyone help me get back to the way my contacts used to be?
