I've started to use Outlook (2003) since I got my Desire, but don't like it - it is clunky and crashes a lot. Does anyone have any experience of any other programs (other than Google) combining mail / contacts / diary?

I need my Exchange subfolders to synchronise automatically, and I need to receive notifications when a new mail arrives in any of the subfolders.
So far, the only app I've found that manages this properly is Touchdown. I'm in the trial period, and may end up buying it, but I'm hoping that there's another application out there that works as well, but has better design and UI. Does anyone know of one?
I used RoadSync on my Nokia, and was looking for the Android version on the market (it does exist, apparently), but can't find it. It might have been taken off, or perhaps doesn't work with v2.1.
I can no longer make out going calls from my GV number after updating my phone. Whenever i try to call someone, it rings twice and goes to their voicemail, on the other persons phone it just shows that I "rejected call" and they have no way to pick it up.
Anyone know if this is because of the update or another gv issue that has a solution? Already rebooted my phone twice, and uninstalled and reinstalled GV and that didnt fix the problem.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm having a strange problem with a new appointment I've just entered in my Desire.Problem shows itself as follows:
1 Go to Doctor, get new appointment for 8:30am next Feb 14th.
2 Enter appointment into Desire under PC Sync calendar. Shows up OK in calendar.
3 Go Home. Sync with Outlook (2003 SP3) on home PC (XP Pro SP3)
4 Outlook shows appointment as 9:30am on Feb 14th.
5 Correct in Outlook back to 8:30 and re-sync.
6 Desire now shows appointment for 7:30am.
7 Repeat...
Off the top of my head, I'd say that there's a Daylight Saving / Summer Time issue here, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to go about fixing it.I live in Qld, Australia. Qld does not have Daylight Saving during Summer, but other Eastern Australian States do. I've only had the Desire for about 2 weeks, but no other dates have been increased/decreased by an hour when I've synced them. Google doesn't seem to be my friend (at least with the key words I've used).
I have a huge problem with duplicates and modifications of my telephone numbers after synchronising with Outlook 2007 and 2010.
My question: can my Desire synchronise with Outlook 2000?
I have tried HTC Sync 2 and 3. I have tried removing agd.exe. On my Vista and my W7 laptop it works, albeit creating duplicates and keeping me occupied going through 1600 contacts manually. On my XP desktop with Outlook 2000 it does absolutely nothing, stating that contact can't be copied from the PIM. But this is my master database, which would resolve all issues.
HTC sync programme only recognize and synchronize the PEOPLE who are entered under " PHONE " section while opening contact card.
I have hundreds of contacts appearing under " Google account section "
I can not remove them to the PHONE section therefore I can not synchronize to microsoft outlook.
I have tried to back up as VCF file by using HTC menu - Home-- People -- Import/Export to SD card ; it does 2 back-up file
1- for People section ( 33 people )
2- for google account section ( 348 people )
I tried to import this VCF file to the microsoft outlook but google account Vcf can not accepted by the programme only gives 1 person address card, in fact while backing up I have seen 348 people have been backed up. how to back up my people all of them to the microsoft outlook safely.
I've set up my Desire to synch email, contacts and calender with Outlook. All seems to work fine except when I try to lookup a contact from the company directory. It never finds anyone. This worked on my old WM device. Am i doing something wrong or is there something I need to do to synch the directory first?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using W7 Ultimate x64 and had no issues with the latest version of HTC Sync and Outlook 2007 x86 - all fine and dandy.
Upgraded last night to Office 2010 x64 and now Sync won't see my Desire - any reasons for this? I've not tried another USB port as yet so will do so later this evening but thought I'd see if anyone else has got it working.
This is the full retail Office 2010, not the beta/technical preview btw.
Does anyone know if there is a way to sync the Desire with Outlook calendar via bluetooth?
My previous phone was a Nokia and I was able to sync via bluetooth.
Its just annoying having the usb cable double as the AC charger connection too. I have to keep moving it from the bedroom to the laptop every day. Why didn't they give us a separate usb cable and ac charger in the box?
My first posting as I am new to Android and the Desire. Must say everything great so far and synchronised with my PC Outlook 2002 first go. Pity it won't do notes as my Apple Ipod touch did.I now use my Desire as the master diary entry and control as set up in the options. As my Outlook 2002 is now aged I thought I might transfer to Google calendars where I have an account. But when I open the Tools in Synchronisation I only have the Outlook option.Can anyone advise how I sync with Google Calendars as then in effect I am using the Desire as the transfer medium from Outlook to Google without the hazards of import/export

View 5 Replies View RelatedEvery time I sync my new HTC Desire to my Outlook 2003 using HTCSync V 3.0.5422, I come up with over 300 reminders on the PC which date back to almost a year ago. I've tried dismissing them in Outlook - they go away - until next time I sync.
I tried downloading the latest version of HTCSync, but that caused the whole sync process to hang - had to uninstall it and load the version that came on the phone.
I'm seriously thinking of upgrading my MDA Vario III to an HTC Desire.I'm getting on a bit and a bit stuck in Windows mode, so Android sounds a scary world. View 10 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC desire and can get the device to talk to my PC running Windows 7 64 bit OK mounted as a disk drive. However when I go to sync my contacts etc it fails immediately when trying to sync (using the sync mode) with Outlook 2007 32 bit.
It says: items synchronised 0/1
Errors: 1 contacts.
In win for mobile is it possible to sort your contacts by company name in the same way as in Outlook. I use HTC Desire in my work and I have 1200 contacts. It is impossible to remember all names, but I remember the company name. It would be a nice feature in Android.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that if i revise a contact in outlook and then sync with my HTC-Desire the revised contact is added as a new -linked- contact and I still see the old contact details. If I than delete one of the two contacts, they are both deleted.
My questions:
- Are revisions always synced as a new, linked contact
- How can i take care that simple changes ares simply updated in contacts
- How can I delete only one of the two contacts
I'm trying to run HTC Sync to share my contacts from outlook 2010 (beta) to the phone, yet HTC Sync tells me there are no contacts there. Is there any way to sync between the 2, or do I need to manually add them?

He's tried syncing with htc sync 3 on his laptop but this has put all his events on his phone one hour later than they should be. Also we have tried to clear the calendar data using settings>applications>calendar>clear data but its not deleting all the events .

However, all my annoying meetings from work are now popping up as "notifications" in my phone's status bar. I can't stand corporate meetings, which are a colossal waster of time, and i don't want to be reminded of all the meetings on my work schedule. I was able to successfully turn of the Outlook mail notifications on my phone (and I still get Gmail notifications, since they are two separate email systems, which is exactly what I want). How do I turn my "Outlook calendar reminders," but still be reminded of my Google Calendar reminders, which is my personal, and far more important, calendar?

I've noticed than when synching with Outlook Contacts on the PC, some fields are not copied to the phone, for example the 'car' field, which is an additional phone number field.
Other than this, My previous phone was a BB Storm2. At the moment, My opinion is that, THe HTC desire is faster than the bb, its browser much better, but for day to day 'real world' use, the bb is much much better. More reliable, and although less options, but gives you those that you realy need.
My Exchange profile has subfolders, incoming mail is moved automatically with rules to these subfolders. I am getting an alert for mail arriving in my 'Inbox' but not my subfolders. I can manually access my subfolders and see the mail but I am not alerted with mail arriving to my subfolders.

I tried to sync my Outlook contacts to the new HTC Desire, using HTC sync, (running Android 2.2) and it copied over the contact but only with their primary numbers and not all the numbers, emails or addresses.
I haven't tried anything else yet but surely I won't be the only one with this teething issue, can some of you guys give me an updates on this?
It looks like several people having tales woe with HTC Sync issues. I finally got HTC Sync working 2 nights ago and synced my contacts with no problems. Last night thought I'd sync. again and also try my calendar Phone didn't find HTC Sync until I re-installed HTC sync. It worked fine, but then after a 3rd sync the PC and phone lost each other and didn't re-establish a link. I'm used to a Windows Mobile PDA that simply works - no messing around. I use Outlook 2003, or at least a version that rules out using the free Google tools, if HTC Sync is this flaky I feel forced to buy something like SyncMyCal and go via Google for contacts/calendars. It obviously works, but I am doing something that breaks the link? Running ActiveSync, having Outlook running etc?

Just having some issues with syncing my outlook contacts and calendar appointments.
I googled it and followed these instructions: HTC Desire - Using HTC Sync
I used the HTC Sync installer that�s in the supplied microSD card to install but that didn't work so I have downloaded latest HTC Sync But when I get to the next step, "Setting up HTC Sync to recognize your phone" the instructions are:
First of all, step 1. seems pretty pointless coz you go to that part of the phone and don't make any changes. When I get to step 2 I can do what the instructions says but the phone doesn't attempt to find the HTC sync on my computer, it does nothing. I don't get a message saying its unable to find the computer, i can change the setting to HTC Sync and click done and thats all that happens.
Would love some help with this one, I've tried googling but can't find a difinitive answer to this issue.
Here are my details..
1.) Model Number: HTC Desire A8183
2.) Firmware Version: 2.1-update

Now I finally have a stable connection between Desire & Windows 7 I have a new problem.
Whenever I try to sync it goes through the motions but nothing syncs.
I have a clean Outlook install with nothing in it and the contacts and calendar entries on Desire came fromm synching with Google account.
For some reason HTC Sync doesn't see anything on the phone and reports no added / updated / removed items - so it syncs nothing.
Any ideas how I can get my contacts & calendar entries on the desire to show up so it can sync with outlook?
Can anyone help to understand how to sync MS outlook task with HTC desire along with contacts and calender. This is a basic feature should be in all mobile phones, but seems to be missing in HTC.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HTC Desire (updated to Froyo) and have been syncing my contacts with my Outlook 2010 (running Windows 7 Enterprise-32 bit). Everything seems to synchronize well but somehow the "email address-Display As" fields gets updated in outlook, which then doesnt allow me to send emails to those email addresses unless I manually go and update the display as field inside my outlook contacts. I have manually updated all the contacts once already hoping that it may not be due to HTC Sync but when I did the sync then immediately all my Outlook email ids got updated.
Now everytime I try and send an email I immediately get Undeliverable receipt from System Administrator stating the following:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
Subject: test Sent: 14-Sep-2010 17:41
The following recipient(s) cannot be reached: abc@xyz.com on 14-Sep-2010 17:41
None of your e-mail accounts could send to this recipient.
