I've accessed my sd card many times previously by connecting via USB, but for a reason I cant figure out it will only charge my device. I'vr tried re-installing drivers, HTC Sync etc. I am running Neo's latest ROM.

For some reason on my HTC desire, I cannot access my SD card. It says 'Blank SD card' in the notifications section. For this to happen on a phone is completely unacceptable. Before my SD card was rendered unusable, I used to get problems like whenever I try to take a photo, it would not allow me to because of an SD card issue. Restarting would solve that. That is also unacceptable. Where do I go from here? Have i lost all my data? What is to sat that this wont happen again?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I turn on the screen there's a notice saying that backing up to SD had failed, so I try to look at the contents of the card and I can't see any of my files. Sometimes I notice it when I try to take a picture and it'll say that it doesn't have the required access. Other times, I've just wanted to access something on the card and noticed it had happened. Now, this sounds like it happens all the time, but it's only a couple of times a week, but quite annoying nonetheless.
The only solution I have found is to turn off the phone, and then turn it back on again. I have tried with the programs SDRemount and SDRescan, but neither have any effect. Is it an issue with the SD card that would go away if I got a new one? I have searched for this topic several times in here, without finding it, but I think something goes wrong in the search process (even if I just search for SD, nothing is found, and I'm quite sure SD has been mentioned a couple of times in here.
I finally was able to unlock my Cliq from the T-mobile network to the At&t network, and I can now make calls and text, but all of the sudden I can no longer access the market for apps. It keeps telling me that my password is invalid (which I am 100% sure it is not). Also, every few minutes, I am recieving a text that says "122 Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. 0605040710000041637469766174653A64743D36", but I haven't even sent any text messages.. It started doing that right after I sucessfully unlocked the phone.

I can no longer download my photos and videos to my pc. the pc no longer lists it on my cumputer when I plug it in. I do however hear the appropriate sounds it makes when I plug it into my usb.( hardware insert.wav and hardware remove.wav)
View 5 Replies View RelatedThere has been talk in the Desire forum of the fault where the SD card will no longer be detected by the phone.It will suggest reformatting. But resetting phone or reinserting card is often the required action to take.I have not heard of anyone else having this problem on the Hero (1.5) but it is driving me bonkers. The shipped 2Gb card worked ok. A new 4Gb had this problem. I have send this one card back to ScanDisk. The second 4Gb card eventually corrupted so badly it will no longer reformat. And the third 4Gb card will not remain recognised for more than a few minutes. Making the phone unusable.I am wondering if any other Hero users have experienced this.I do not know for sure if this is a HTC issue a card issue or and Android issue.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been really happy with my Incredible since it came out.I even got a new stereo for my car, an Alpine CDE-102, because I was able to plug my phone into it and it would start playing my music off the SD card.
Today I updated, and now my stereo does not detect the files on the SD card.I think it is only looking at the phone storage.Was the phone storage given some kind of higher priority in the update? Is there any way to keep my phone storage from being mounted?
I recently upgraded my Android app to support multiple resolutions. Previously, my Android.manifest file had a line:

I then added a couple of new directories, like drawable-hdpi-v4 and drawable-long-hdpi-v4 that includes the high-res versions of the graphics. That's about it.
Ever since releasing this update, there have been a decent number of users complaining about various problems:
the app icon doesn't appear (I did not create a high res version of the icon)
the home screen widget no longer works, even if they delete and re-add it (this code did not change with the update). I've had a user send me their error log, which shows:

There is one questionable section in my existing widget code that may be relevant:

And perhaps most troublesome: the sqlite database is no longer accessible/writeable for some users so their data is no longer available. I did add the WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission to the manifest. This is only happening to certain users and it tends to be HTC Eris users. In that error log I see things such as:

It's as if the update has caused a new process and it can't access the old process's data, or something.
I rooted my desire about a month ago, and only used root access for backups. last week i got the OTA update to 2.2 and installed it, but now i think i no longer have root access. i was doing something (i forget what now) and it told me i need root access to do the task. i still have superuser permissions on my app list, but im not totally convinced. is there an easy way to find out if i still have root access?

View 22 Replies View RelatedI went into settings/accounts yesterday to stop weather from syncing, and noticed a red exclamation mark next to my 'myname@googlemail.com' account.
and below it says 'sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.'
when i click on the google account it shows 3 tick boxes, all ticked, contacts, gmail and calendar.
but the contacts again has a red exclamation mark by it, and a date for the last sync of 23.08.10 which is when I updated to 2.2 using the RUU (i think).
I can use the marketplace, gmails come in ok, my calendar works fine and all other features of the phone are great. But its not syncing contacts anymore?
presumably I cant delete this account and recreate it as its the one the phone asked for on 1st boot and setup?
Good Evening, I doing a bit of surfing this morning with the Desire and put it in down for a few hours and when I cam back to it about 4 hours later I found the battery was dead.. After charging it up and turning it back on all it will do is show the white screen with green HTC letters before rebooting again.
Very frustrating as I have just got this one setup the way I like it since being replaced. I can not even say why it has happened, I use no task killers and the only app ran was the internet via wifi.
I have called Orange and they will send a new one out tomorrow to replace it, so good for the customer services but this is my second faulty desire.
I tried loading the phone with the volume down button pressed and using fastboot / recovery but no joy there.
Before it goes back tomorrow I really want to reset the phone to factory defaults as all my data will remain in the phone and I do not trust any 3rd party to clear it down.
Does anyone know what I can do to clear the data please?
My battery level was 36% this morning (8AM), so I plugged it into my computer and pulled it out when it was 100%. It still has 93% now (7.13PM)Has anybody encountered this as well?

Got caught in a torrential downpour this afternoon to find my wallet and phone somewhat damp after being in my soaking jeans.Power button no longer works so effectively once the screen saver kicks in I cant unlock it. Thankfully its still within warranty so will take it back to get a replacement.This is the 2nd phone I've had that has suffered this prob. My previous phone, a dreadful Sony Ericsson died a death.Avoiding the rain is somewhat unavoidable when you live in Scotland. MakingTaking a phonecall in the rain is sometimes a necessary evil. I really have to question the build quality of some of the modern phones. Do they even test the use of phones in the rain? It seems somewhat of a basic function, and to have such a major malfunction with such minimal exposure to rain is quite disappointing to say the least, especially when it never came into direct contact.

View 12 Replies View RelatedIn previous versions of Android that supported: <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width" /> the device displayed the content correctly resized in Webkit - in fact, all devices that recognize meta viewport work fine for me. Android 2.2, of course, has broken this - all items show up full size regardless of what is set in the meta tags. Anyone have a workaround, or is this fubared for now?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my Desire for about a week end enjoyed pinch to zoom in many applications over the first few days. Somehow the feature was disabled or removed and I struggle to enable it again. Other threads mentioned an update followed by a reboot. I'm not aware of any OS updates and I've done several reboots without any change to the issue. Also, these threads seemed to be US related and about other and slightly older phones.
HTC Desire, firmware 2.1-update1, baseband 32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11, software 1.15.405.4, Vodafone Ireland network, no visible branding, not rooted

Since updating my Desire to 2.2 my people widget no longer show me if people in my favorite group have updated their status! It use to show a green spot by the name with number within it. Has anyone else notice this since updating? This feature was really useful!

I would like to open the SD card from the phone without seeing all the other files on the phone. I simply want to see files on the card.....pics, music, ringtones, movies, etc......not every file and program on the damn phone. I love my EVO, but this issue really annoys me.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can format the card from the phone. I can save pictures to the card from the camera app. The phone sees the card properly. When I plug in the pc usb cable I select "disk drive" but the drive doesn't show up on the computer. Sometimes I see the drive (Drive G) pop up for a split second then disappear. Sometimes it never appears. I always get the "choose a connection type" message and select disk drive. The notification bar shows "USB DEBUGGING." I have tried it with USB debugging off or on. I have also installed HTC SYnc but that didn't help (and doesn't connect). Computer says "USB device not recognized." It always worked fine with my MyTouch 3G. There is nothing amiss in device manager.

Except I cannot access my SD card at all. I can't take screenshots or use apps that need the SD card either.
And my SD card is not full. I still have 2 gigs left.
Also, when I press storage in settings, the app crashes.
And I ported the ROM from the MyTouch4G Slide to the MyTouch4G.
Or have I missed some SD card file or something... myTouch 4g.
I have a MX2 Android TV Box and flashed it with Linux software, then I flashed Matricom firmware Android), running 4.2.2.When I try to access the SD card in recovery mode it doesn't allow me to do this - Apply from EXT, update from SD card, then it's blank. I've formatted several times and confirmed the files are there but they don't show in recovery.
When I open Winzip/File manager on the box I can see my files there. I want to flash the box again back to Linux but can't from SD because the files won't show up. I'm not sure what to do with 'Update from ADB', (is this an option)?. I've since been told that in Matricom System Recovery (3e) it is stock so wont let me flash anything else.I want to restore the box on Linux, I dont mind about losing anything as ive got everything backed up.

Can an Activity still have read/write access to an SD card after it has been mounted to USB storage (connecting USB and selecting Mount from the resulting notification screen). In other words, does mounting the SD card lock out system access until USB is disconnected. I need to create a live channel between an application and an external USB device and I'm running out of options.
