HTC Desire :: Android 2.2 - Width Device- No Longer Working
Sep 7, 2010In previous versions of Android that supported: <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width" /> the device displayed the content correctly resized in Webkit - in fact, all devices that recognize meta viewport work fine for me. Android 2.2, of course, has broken this - all items show up full size regardless of what is set in the meta tags. Anyone have a workaround, or is this fubared for now?

May 10, 2010I've had my Desire for about a week end enjoyed pinch to zoom in many applications over the first few days. Somehow the feature was disabled or removed and I struggle to enable it again. Other threads mentioned an update followed by a reboot. I'm not aware of any OS updates and I've done several reboots without any change to the issue. Also, these threads seemed to be US related and about other and slightly older phones.
HTC Desire, firmware 2.1-update1, baseband 32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11, software 1.15.405.4, Vodafone Ireland network, no visible branding, not rooted
Please could someone point me how to re-enable pinch to zoom?

HTC Desire :: Twitter Timeline Wasnt Updating In Peep
Apr 20, 2010Love my new Desire but having gripes with Twitter on the Peep client. Doesn't seem as if you can install an effective alternative client either.
My twitter timeline wasn't updating in Peep. It said, No Tweets. It lied. I could see @ messages and dms and even new tweets scrolling in the notification bar at the top of the screen, but NOTHING in the main timeline.
Tried refreshing, re-synching, updating location, to no avail.
The only way I've managed to get the timeline to show now, was to go into Settings and Apps and clear all the database data from Peep. Then sign out and sign in again.

An excellent replacement, tried a few after being spoilt rotten by the iPhone's music player. In Winamp, I've finally found a music player to compare to this.
2 Peep
The standard HTC Twitter client looks good and is easy to use.
3 Tune In Radio
Not really used this much but used it loads on the iPhone. A huge directory of stations to listen to.
4 MP3 Music Downloader
Get music tracks for FREE (legally debatable) But what I like is the ability to preview on the go, nice if you think "I wish I could listen to that track right now"
5 Google Maps
Superb free navigation, used it to find a pub I wanted to go to (on foot) Drains the battery if you have it on for too long though

imap.mail.yahoo.com
smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
This has been working for me for weeks now but suddenly it is giving me "incorrect username or password" error.
HTC EVO 4G :: Root Explorer No Longer Working?
Aug 18, 2010I was attempting to replace inverted facebook 1.3.1 with 1.3.2. Root explorer appeared to be working (tho the apk didn't update :|) Attempted today (i was plugged in to my computer, but was not in USB mode) and RE seemed to be stuck on a bl ck screen after it got SU permissions. Pressing menu key caused it to fc. I un-/re-installed and even rebooted. Still no luck. I was planning on flashing a nightly anyways. Wonder if that will help.

Jan 4, 2014My tablet and pc no longer communicate.My computer makes the noise that it recognizes the new item, yet my tablet will no longer bring up the option to use usb mode. Why. As far as I know there have been no changes to warrent this. Sometimes the pc pops up with a messege saying the drivers could not install correctly.

Oct 6, 2010I'm not sure when this started happening or if it ever even worked, but my vibrate notifications do not work for text messages or email (i'm using K-9). I've gone through EVERY possible setting, in the messaging app, in K-9, and the standard phone settings, to ensure that Vibrate Notification is indeed on, and yet it does not work. It doesn't matter if my phone is on Vibrate Mode, Silent Mode, or Normal Mode, no vibration notifications.
I've tried restarting the phone, nothing works.
My Haptic Feedback works perfectly.
Nexus :: Power Switch No Longer Working
Aug 8, 2010The switch has been a bit finicky for a few months. Today it stopped working all together. I couldn't turn the phone on except my plugging in power. Then I couldn't shut it off. I pulled the battery to try and reboot but now I can't turn it on. I opened the back but there is a star shaped screw and another with a void sticker on it. I was thinking of taking a look at the button leads to see if there is something lodged in there of perhaps if they were just dirty, I could clean them to get a better connection....but I will be crossing a line if I do.
The big question is....who do I turn to regarding a repair? Since I bought it from google, I don't think T-mobile will help. Once I finally reach the right person at google, they will most likely say ship it to us and we will look at it when we get around to it.

May 22, 2010Over the past 2 days i have noticed that the green led is no longer flashing when i receive an email.Has anyone else got this issue?I cant see a specific option to enable the led, so i doubt i have turned it off (plus it sometimes works).I was thinking of doing a hard reset - anyone got any advice before i do this?

Apr 2, 2010I have BB 0.9 as well as the smokeless glass theme and noticed that on my SMS app, CHOMPS MS the LED does not work. I try to 'test notification' but the LED does not flash regardless of the color I choose. This is extremely annoying as I don't know when I have a text anymore unless I hear my phone. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, as well as going back to Handcent but still no luck. Is there an easy solution for this? I'm hoping!

Oct 4, 2010My Eris is just no longer working as a phone. The only place I get good signal strength is at the Verizon store. I think the radio is dying because the other 3 Eris droids in my house (wife and 2 kids) all show 15 - 20 dB higher (less negative) signal strength.
I went to VZW store for some help and all they could do was #228 option 1 and *228 option 2 and recommend that I get a task killer app and use it 3 times a day.
So, anybody know how to get past the sales side and get to somebody that can determine if the phone is broke?
Data and apps all work fine, I get 3G everywhere, and it's rooted (so is the wife's) using XTRROM 4.2(me) XTRSense 4.2 (wife) - kids not rooted.
Motorola Milestone :: 2.1 UK - Pattern Unlock No Longer Working
May 6, 2010Prior to upgrading to 2.1 (UK) today, I used the pattern unlock feature (a great feature) to unlock my phone. After the 2.1 u/g was complete the phone reverted back to the unlock slider + entering a password. So, I head to settings->location & security settings-> phone lock settings. Now the only option I can access is 'Change unlock password', which is fine, but unfortunately the 'use visible pattern' & 'use tactile feedback' options are greyed out....however they each have a green tick against each item which I've taken to assume means they're enabled! If it's enabled where do I enter the pattern?
While I'm here....if I look in applications, filtering on all, for some reason I have three 'Settings Storage' apps for various sizes....this doesn't sound right?
General :: Speech To Text No Longer Working - Can't Install App To Fix
Jun 8, 2012I rooted my phone (Samsung Galaxy S Showcase i500) the other day and deleted a lot of the stock apk files, the ones that I thought I didn't need .
One of them was Voice Search (and also voice commands, if that matters). Now, my speech or voice to text in my text messaging program is not working. Whenever I press the mic icon, nothing happens. Through searching I think I've determined it's because I deleted the voice search apk?
Whenever I go to the Market to download Google Voice Search, the Market says its already "installed"...but obviously its not?! I've tried downloading the file from other places but when I try to install it says "There is a problem parsing the package."
Bottom line, how do I get my speech to text back?

May 14, 2010has anyone noticed that post OTA the speed dial no longer works? i had speed dials set up before the update and they worked fine. after the update whenever i try to set speed dials they just don't stick. everything seems to work fine, but after i hit save they just don't register.

Nov 11, 2010Recently as in the past few days I have noticed that new emails aren't giving me the status update/green flashing light as SMS messages are. The only thing I've done recently is re-flashed with the BA20 update and did a restore from Titanium backup of my apps and system info. I am getting mail, but no indicator. I have the account set to check every 5 mins and send and indication.
I sent a test email to my account and went into settings, data sync and synced gmail and the the indicator worked as it immediately found my new test email. I've received several emails in the past few days though with no indication. Any thoughts?
General :: Cloud Printer Beta / Chrome To Mobile No Longer Working?
Oct 25, 2012In the last 3 weeks, I've found that Chrome To Mobile has stopped working for my Chrome browsers on mulitple desktops, to multiple devices. "Print" requests on the Cloud Printer Beta page show my requests, stuck in a perpetual state of "Queued" ... until I delete them.
Deleting and adding the devices hasn't worked. Neither has stopping and restarting Chrome sync.

HTC Desire :: OTA Update / Now No Longer Rooted?
Nov 7, 2010I rooted my desire about a month ago, and only used root access for backups. last week i got the OTA update to 2.2 and installed it, but now i think i no longer have root access. i was doing something (i forget what now) and it told me i need root access to do the task. i still have superuser permissions on my app list, but im not totally convinced. is there an easy way to find out if i still have root access?

Oct 3, 2010I went into settings/accounts yesterday to stop weather from syncing, and noticed a red exclamation mark next to my 'myname@googlemail.com' account.
and below it says 'sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.'
when i click on the google account it shows 3 tick boxes, all ticked, contacts, gmail and calendar.
but the contacts again has a red exclamation mark by it, and a date for the last sync of 23.08.10 which is when I updated to 2.2 using the RUU (i think).
I can use the marketplace, gmails come in ok, my calendar works fine and all other features of the phone are great. But its not syncing contacts anymore?
presumably I cant delete this account and recreate it as its the one the phone asked for on 1st boot and setup?

Sep 16, 2010I've accessed my sd card many times previously by connecting via USB, but for a reason I cant figure out it will only charge my device. I'vr tried re-installing drivers, HTC Sync etc. I am running Neo's latest ROM.
