Since updating my Desire to 2.2 my people widget no longer show me if people in my favorite group have updated their status! It use to show a green spot by the name with number within it. Has anyone else notice this since updating? This feature was really useful!

Strange thing has happened since the upgrade. I added the people widget to a screen in the large (9x9) style. The group I choose all have photos for each contact. If I view them in the people group listing, all the photos show next to the name. If I view the individual contacts the photos are there.
But only half the photos show in the widget view - anyone know what's going on? I can't work out what the difference could be between the contacts, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.
all my contacts are google contacts with several linked to Facebook accounts.When I access my contacts through the People widget, all's good, I only see the google contacts (I've deselected Facebookers in the view menu). However when I access the Messages widget all my contacts are doubled up for some reason. I realise this list is also showing facebook contacts as well as google contacts but even the non-facebook contacts are doubled up.

Anyway, I'm a little confused with regards to the People Widget.
I have it configured on one of my home screens and its linked to my Gmail contacts account. I have set my favourites (grouped as 'Starred in Android')
and synched the favourites to go to that group when you first set it up.
Now, the phone also has 3 duplicate contacts in the list - all of the duplicates look like they've come from Facebook, but I can't get rid of them from the list.
At first I thought that the phone was trying to synch my gmail contacts with my facebook contacts, but then it hasn't done all of my Facebook contacts that match the contacts in my Gmail.
I'm a bit confused as to how they've got in there.
I've tried resysnching Gmail and Facebook, removed the People widget and re-added it, I've checked everything in my Gmail contacts but can't see anything un-toward, I've tried having background data sync enabled and disabled whilst trying to remove these to no avail.
I still can't seem to remove these 3 duplicate entries.
i was wondering if it is possible to get rid of the voicemail from my people widget. i have the single line it has voicemail at the top which means i only have space for 2 other contacts without having to scroll down?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI started using Pure Calendar today and love it.here is a "Select Update Frequency" setting that can change from 6 hours to "When Calendar is Modified."I left mine on 6 hours to begin with, but I have noticed that when I modify my Exchange or my Google Calendar (on my phone OR on my computer), the Pure Calendar widget updates almost instantly.Anybody know why? Is it a bug in the Widget? Or is it supposed to update the Widget instantly despite being set to 6 hours?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with the Friend Stream widget. It seems that one of my FB friends does not appear on Friend Stream. I do not see any of her updates. I can only see her FB updates when I use the FB app. I cannot see her in my list of FB friends in Friend Stream either. It seems to not be updating properly on the people widget either. Tried to resync. I even tried deleting my FB account in Friend Stream and adding it back in. This only happened with this one friend. I use to be able to see her updates, but she seemed to have disappeared from Friend Stream a couple of days ago.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI rooted my desire about a month ago, and only used root access for backups. last week i got the OTA update to 2.2 and installed it, but now i think i no longer have root access. i was doing something (i forget what now) and it told me i need root access to do the task. i still have superuser permissions on my app list, but im not totally convinced. is there an easy way to find out if i still have root access?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using my Desire with no issues for about 6 weeks and update notifications have worked perfectly, but this week I've recieved 3 different 'updates available' notifications, but clicking on them takes me to the list of installed apps where no updates are highlighted.
Searching the forums identifies this as having been a problem with other phones models (HTC and Motorola) after firmware updates, but I don't think that can be the issue here. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions as to cause or fix?
i have a HTC Desire and although i used to get them at first i am no longer getting the notifications when apps are ready for update, i have the settings clicked to alert me but i have had several apps needed updates recently and none gave me the notification, has any body else had this issue and how can it be resolved, not a majot issue but just frustrating.

Tap the icon and the screen shows the white startup icon, then goes back to the home screen. I'm on 3 in the UK, and have an unbranded, un-locked handset, as sent to me by 3. The phone is not rooted.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have all of my contacts linked to their respective facebook accounts, but the pictures that show up when I go to my People never update with the facebook pictures, they have stayed the same since the day I linked the two regardless of how many times the person has changed their default picture since then. Is there any way for me to change this so the pictures in my People update with facebook? Since they are linked I assume they should be able to do this.

However, I discovered that if I, for instance, put my best friend's cell phone number as a favorite icon I can no longer find his contact to add his home number to a favorites icon. The app seems to allow for only one favorite icon per contact. I am sure I am doing something wrong and there must be a way to have two favorite icons for the same contact but different phone numbers such as home and cell.In addition, sometimes when I add a contact to the Favorites app, the contact is no longer listed or searchable under People. Weird, no?

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy Portal/Spica to a DHD and really happy with the move. Its a beast of a phone!
One question though, the "standard" HTC clock widget, that includes the weather on it won't auto update. If I click it, then menu, then settings the only selectable options are "Update when opened" and "Temperature scale".
The options for "Update automatically" and "Update schedule" are greyed out. I've tried adjusting the sync settings in the main settings section but nothing makes a difference.
How can I get this to work? Frequently I will look at my phone and it will tell me my location but not the weather. And whilst it isn't vital, I jkust think the screen looks nicer with a sun or cloud or moon or whatever on it.
Has anybody managed to get the news widget to auto-update? Twitter is fine just the news widget.

It also used to update the weather every hour and show a sun in the day and a moon at night but now even at 12 at night it still shows the sun. I've also set the weather sync in settings to update ever hour. does anyone know what it could be thats different in my phone now?

Done the usual things remove the widget and added it again to the screen but still does not work.
