View 5 RepliesFor some reason on my HTC desire, I cannot access my SD card. It says 'Blank SD card' in the notifications section. For this to happen on a phone is completely unacceptable. Before my SD card was rendered unusable, I used to get problems like whenever I try to take a photo, it would not allow me to because of an SD card issue. Restarting would solve that. That is also unacceptable. Where do I go from here? Have i lost all my data? What is to sat that this wont happen again?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've accessed my sd card many times previously by connecting via USB, but for a reason I cant figure out it will only charge my device. I'vr tried re-installing drivers, HTC Sync etc. I am running Neo's latest ROM.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I turn on the screen there's a notice saying that backing up to SD had failed, so I try to look at the contents of the card and I can't see any of my files. Sometimes I notice it when I try to take a picture and it'll say that it doesn't have the required access. Other times, I've just wanted to access something on the card and noticed it had happened. Now, this sounds like it happens all the time, but it's only a couple of times a week, but quite annoying nonetheless.
The only solution I have found is to turn off the phone, and then turn it back on again. I have tried with the programs SDRemount and SDRescan, but neither have any effect. Is it an issue with the SD card that would go away if I got a new one? I have searched for this topic several times in here, without finding it, but I think something goes wrong in the search process (even if I just search for SD, nothing is found, and I'm quite sure SD has been mentioned a couple of times in here.
Does anyone know if there is a simpler way to access SD card info from the phone, other than using the Astro app? I would like to open the SD card from the phone without seeing all the other files on the phone. I simply want to see files on the card.....pics, music, ringtones, movies, etc......not every file and program on the damn phone. I love my EVO, but this issue really annoys me.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can format the card from the phone. I can save pictures to the card from the camera app. The phone sees the card properly. When I plug in the pc usb cable I select "disk drive" but the drive doesn't show up on the computer. Sometimes I see the drive (Drive G) pop up for a split second then disappear. Sometimes it never appears. I always get the "choose a connection type" message and select disk drive. The notification bar shows "USB DEBUGGING." I have tried it with USB debugging off or on. I have also installed HTC SYnc but that didn't help (and doesn't connect). Computer says "USB device not recognized." It always worked fine with my MyTouch 3G. There is nothing amiss in device manager.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a port, and I got it booting up everything working great.
Except I cannot access my SD card at all. I can't take screenshots or use apps that need the SD card either.
And my SD card is not full. I still have 2 gigs left.
Also, when I press storage in settings, the app crashes.
And I ported the ROM from the MyTouch4G Slide to the MyTouch4G.
Or have I missed some SD card file or something... myTouch 4g.
I have a MX2 Android TV Box and flashed it with Linux software, then I flashed Matricom firmware Android), running 4.2.2.When I try to access the SD card in recovery mode it doesn't allow me to do this - Apply from EXT, update from SD card, then it's blank. I've formatted several times and confirmed the files are there but they don't show in recovery.
When I open Winzip/File manager on the box I can see my files there. I want to flash the box again back to Linux but can't from SD because the files won't show up. I'm not sure what to do with 'Update from ADB', (is this an option)?. I've since been told that in Matricom System Recovery (3e) it is stock so wont let me flash anything else.I want to restore the box on Linux, I dont mind about losing anything as ive got everything backed up.
I cant seem to figure this one out?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI juts want to know how can I access a certain data from my SD card. How can I browse SD card contents? For example, from my application, I want to open a pdf file from SD card, how am I going to do this? I tried to write this code but it doesn't seem to work.
Uri uri = Uri.parse("file:///sdcard/"); Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_PICK, uri); startActivity(intent);
Can an Activity still have read/write access to an SD card after it has been mounted to USB storage (connecting USB and selecting Mount from the resulting notification screen). In other words, does mounting the SD card lock out system access until USB is disconnected. I need to create a live channel between an application and an external USB device and I'm running out of options.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI cannot for the life of me figure out where I access the SD card on my Legend without plugging it to the PC. On my old touch diamond 2 I had a file browser - I can not find it on my Legend. It brings up the pictures in the picture browser, but I can't find the ringtones I have on it to use instead of the build in on the Legend.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince doing the OTA Froyo update on my Incredible I can not access the SD card when charging. I have gone into Settings > Connect to PC and default connection is set to Charging only. I have tried it with "Ask Me" both checked and unchecked, pulled the battery, etc. When connecting power it doesn't ask anyway as it knows it's power and not a computer connection. But as soon as any charger (have multiple chargers) is connected the SD card is unmounted. Unplugging power shows the sd card remounting. It's a big probably because if you want to let's say listen to a podcast or music on the sd card, I cant charge the phone at the same time.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOk just got my EVO yesterday. This is not only my first android phone, but my first smart phone as well. I'm fairly savvy when it comes to computers and techy stuff, but I do have what sounds like a ridiculous question. I bluetoothed some files (songs and pictures) from my old phone to my EVO. It acknowledged getting them and indeed I was able to play them from the notification area after receiving them. However, now I cannot find anyplace to 'browse' the phone folders or the SD card folders so I can find and utilize these files. How do you access the SD card or the file system?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed a 32 GB micro SD card into my Samsung Galaxy SII. My device appears to recognize it in Settings | Storage since it shows Total space for the SD card as "29.71GB". However, I cannot figure how to browse to the card nor how to move files to it from within the Android OS. From within the My Files app, I cannot change directories from what appears to be the built-in memory since the "Up" icon is grayed out.
How do I access the microSD card by browsing to it and moving files to it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got my eris yesterday since I don't have a NE2 available and I wanted to get away from WinMo, in any case, I can't access my SD card from my Eris. I downloaded Astro Manager, went to sd card, it says it is empty. I connected my phone to my PC via USB, mounted it as a drive, and I can access the SD card and contents without a problem. I can even use the photo album on the phone to look at pictures that are on the card.
When I go to settings > sd card and phone storage it displays total space and available space as being unavailable and the option to unmount the sd card is grayed out. Pressing the menu button on this screen doesn't do anything. Running 2.1, not rooted. I not interested in rooting the phone since I don't need the WiFi tethering and the stock apps aren't bothering me. The phone was connected to the PC and mounted. I couldn't see the card from the phone when it was mounted to the PC. Why?
