I want to setup a folder that links to the files in my SD card.I want to set it up using my HTC Desire, not via my PC.I am currently going to + > Folder > New Folder. How do I rename it and set the target location?

I have set up the stock mail app on my desire to receive my hotmail account mail. However i only have access to the inbox folder. Is there a way to get access to my junk mail folder and trash folder?

Unfortunately I'm having trouble figuring out where in my project folder I should place this video file, and also how to access it (the path to the file).
I am using videoView.setVideoPath();
I got tired of the messing with the people widget so I created shortcuts to people. I have a couple of folders that I put these shortcuts into, one for texting and one for calling. Is there any setting to change the transparency of the folder?

Do I really need them and can I setup my Desire to auto delete them if not required?
Out of curiosity could anyone with a Desire let me know if their SMS app settings are the same as mine Unbranded Desire on the Orange network.In 'Manage Applications' if I look at the stock HTC SMS app (Messages) the 'Launch by default' section is greyed out and says 'No defaults set'.Same thing when I look at the 'Application info' for Handcent.The problem this is causing me is that I can't set a 'default' SMS app in the GOTO lock screen app. A pop up should launch in the GOTO app asking me to set a default but it doesn't and so I can only use the stock SMS app with the GOTO lockscreen.Spoke to the developer about it and he thinks it's an issue specific to the Desire so out of curiosity I'm keen to know if other Desires have the same default settings as mine mentioned above.

Is there an easy way to change the preview picture of the folder? It seems to be using the first picture in the folder. I tried deleting the folder and recreating it from my computer but didn't work. The first picture in the folder also doesn't seem to be related to the alphabetical order, or date order so not sure why it's even picking that picture as the first one.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got my desire back from repair. I thought everything would be backed up, and that I could just load my backup file once the phone was started for the first time. But apparently, this is not the case... HTC has stopped the support for this backup from Android 2.1 to 2.2 they told me in their phone support.... They advised me to download a file manager, and locate e.g my sms messages, and recreate them from there. However, I have not been able to find that folder? I can se lots of other old data, so the sd card has not been formatted...

i can't for example put a music folder or video folder or excel file in it to prevent unauthorised viewing and stuff.
Is there a way I can save certain text messages to their own folder? Eg. Is it possible to save and store all the joke messages I receive in one place where I can forward the on from if I wish?
