It just sounds very mid to high rangey compared to my old iphone's speaker. Am I missing an equalizer setting or is that just how it goes? I'm not expecting serious bass from a tiny speaker but it IS very tinny sounding.

View 3 Replies View RelatedEarlier, I received a facebook message, and my Desire started playing a Bruce Springsteen track (needless to say I have Springsteen in my Music app). The thing is, my music app wasn't even open (in Task Killer) and when I did open it, I could still select another song and play it on top of the Springsteen song - so it wasn't a Music app bug. The only way to stop it was to open the task manager (swiping to home screen down) to identify the message. Is there somewhere where this particular track has been selected as a Facebook notification tone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt doesn't matter what profile I have selected not that I have chosen which notification sound I want, it just starts playing a random song from my music collection. That in itself isn't so bad but what winds me up more than anything is that I have to interact with the phone to stop the tune from playing. Anyone got any ideas as to what it could be. It's on Orange running 2.1 and my ringtones etc are done through Zedge
View 13 Replies View RelatedTHE SPEAKERPHONE IS CRAP! It just sounds tinny and horrible and distorts all over the place. It has no mid-tones or bass (as much as phones can have bass). Even my little old Nokia does speakerphone 100 times better, and that this is no super-phone. So, is there some kind of graphic equaliser app that can fix this? Please?

When i connect it to my pc, the phone will automatically start playing a mp3 song from my sd card? if i let the song play for a little bit, then unplug the usb, the song resets and starts over from the beginning???? There is no way to stop the music once the usb is disconnected, short of removing the battery.

I'm not sure if this is a setting that needs to be turned off because I have not found it yet. The music stops whenever I unplug it. I have USB debugging enabled as well.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just activated replacement Eris number two. Upon plugging it into my PC, the phone started playing a loud music track at maximum volume. When I went to adjust my volume, I found that this sound was being controlled by my ringtone volume and not media volume (interesting). I did a reboot of the phone and was greeted by the sound as soon as I plugged it in. The sound's duration is about thirty seconds.
I've plugged it into the other computer here and had the same issue. I've had it plugged into my computer for about an hour, and I have heard the music start up without notice twice so far. I did a google search as well as a search here and haven't found another user with this peculiar (if amusing/irritating) issue. I can upload a video/soundclip if wanted. I was considering rooting but I don't want to have to go to the trouble if I'm going to have to send this phone back to Verizon.
Music plays automatically at a couple of instances:
1) Whenever I turn on my car and it connects to bluetooth (not a big problem)
2) Whenever I hang up a call
3) Most of the time if I Ignore an incoming call
I was in a meeting today and answered a phone call. I hang up and BAM, the music starts playing automatically. Of course at this particular time I was listening to Opie and Anthony and the first two words were something I'm not even allowed to say on this forum. I had to defend my damn job after that. This happens with both the default music player and Audible and has happened with other 3rd party music players, so it's not just an isolated incident with one particular app. Only one app plays at a time, and it seems to be whatever app I used last? I absolutely love the droid platform and my Incredible, but I'm going to have to get rid of this phone if I can't fix this problem. I see no reason that a music player should start automatically after hanging up a phone call.
I use Pandora for "radio" and Shuttle to listen to MP3s that I've copied/downloaded to my phone.
Problem is that when I get in my car and connect via Bluetooth, Shuttle starts up most of the time, even if I was listening to Pandora previously (e.g., listening to Pandora, park, run an errand, get back in car and Shuttle starts up when I start the car).
Today, I even had the situation where Pandora started up, played for a second or two, then Shuttle started up and "drowned it out".
When I take a call and I'm listening to music it stops when ringing but then it starts playing when I'm trying to talk, the only way I can hear is if I hang up and go and kill the mediaplayer i'm using. I thought it was just mediascape being weird but I switched to mixzing and it still does it! Has anyone else had this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedGot my EVO today around 1:00. Yay! I have been playing around with it and so far everything is great, and I like it much better than my Moment, with one exception: The phone.
Every call I have made sounds terrible -- muffled, tinny, harsh and buzzy. I swear my ear actually rang after getting off a 5 minute phone call. I enabled the hearing aid option so I could turn the volume down a bit and it helps somewhat, but not a lot. Even Bluetooth doesn't sound as good as it did on the Moment.
I have read other threads on this but there didn't seem to be a consensus. Is it a bum earpiece or a software/hardware issue? I just got this and it is my 3rd phone in a month (2 moments due to overheating now this one). I order them from Sprint online so it's getting expensive as well, since they only credit you AFTER they receive the phone you are exchanging for, which you mail back. I am also getting tired of setting up new phones. :lol
Don't get me wrong, I have every intention of keeping the EVO. But I am wondering if this is just how it is or if it is a defect that warrants the phone being replaced? If it is how it is, I will live with it. My cell phone is not my primary phone and I don't actually spend that much time on phone calls, so the rest of the EVO features outweigh the bad sound. But it IS a cell phone after all, so should it sound this bad?
When in HTC Sync, on the music tab, i've added a folder to be synced, but when i try sync it, it's not doing it an all it wants to do is see ms outlook. so how do i get this music onto my phone.

I have over 1,000 mp3 files on my sd card but they are not showing up in any of my music players..they show up in astro and i can play them through there, but id like the ease of just having them in my playlists.
Me and my brother bought the EVO and his gf has an iphone 3gs. So they both loaded the same mp4 file on their phones and played them back side to side for comparison. He said that the video looked better on the 3gs than the EVO.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a default ringtone for my contacts. That's all well and good and it will play the correct ringtone.
Now, the problem is, I go into my contacts and set custom ringtones for different people so I know it's them calling without even having to look. Probably about 10 or so people. The rest of the contacts, plus numbers not in my phonebook get the default.
All was well and good until last week. Now the default plays for everyone, no matter what. And when I went into my contacts and their contact page, it shows their ringtone as being the custom one I set but it's not playing. All the songs are still on my phone.
Only thing I can think of is I cleared data in ChompSMS, updated and downloaded a few apps. I've turned the phone on/off and took battery out but nothing.
I have SCOURED this forum - and others - in search of an answer for my problem and have simply not found it. I accidently set up a ringtone to be the default ringer. Which is no big deal, except that now none of my custom ringers work. No matter who calls, it plays the default ringer. I have tried to change the custom ringer to something else (contact, options - and it says the correct name...plays the correct ringer when demo-ed), and change it back to what I wanted originally - didn't work.
Tried changing the default ringer and repeating the above - didn't work. Tried using two different ringer apps from the market - didn't work. I do not use any type of task killer, and don't know the slightest thing about rooting or anything of that nature. I restarted the phone several times. Also took the battery out while still on...didn't work. After all that...still rings the default ringer EVERY time. I'm at a total loss.
Is there a app that plays random sounds from my phone with having any notifications? I just want to have a playlist of sounds that randomly play when i'm walking around.

In doing so...if a user places their finger on the area it may hit it multiple times thus getting new coordinates within the area that plays the sounds...thus playing the sound twice. View 5 Replies View RelatedI can't get my Droid to play anything but the stock sounds for notifications. If I try a custom sound I get this crappy digital phone ring sound. I have made all my folders on the root of the card. I have tried rings extended but it still does the same thing. It shows the sound I want. It plays it in the selection screen but when it comes time for the phone to play it all I get is that stupid bell. I even used sounds that I know work as ringtones by copying them to the notifications folder, but still that ring is all I get.
