View 1 RepliesWhat video formats does the epic play when using allshare cause I cant play any on my home network.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried two different files so far in 720p, an .mkv and an .MPEG-TS . neither show up in the EVO's video gallery.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust thought I'd share the video formats supported by EVO for those who may not know. You can play these high-definition MP4 video formats in:
H.263 profile 0 @ 30 fps, WVGA (800x480), max 2 Mbps
MPEG-4 simple profile @ 30 fps, 720p (1280x720), max 6 Mbps
H.264 baseline profile @ 30 fps, 720p (1280x720), max 6 Mbps
Me and my brother bought the EVO and his gf has an iphone 3gs. So they both loaded the same mp4 file on their phones and played them back side to side for comparison. He said that the video looked better on the 3gs than the EVO.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm just trying to find out what video formats are supported on the Hero? I've tried mkv and avi, but no go on either. This is particularly frustrating since all my movies / video files are in mkv and avi. Also, if these formats can be supported through the use of an application.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a few episodes of my favorite series (futurama whoop whoop whoop) off of Megaupload.com to watch on the go. Now, the native player won't play .avi files, which is an annoying inconvenience for such an advanced device, but easily averted with a trip to the market. I personally use rockplayer to play these.
But now in an effort to get what little use the hdmi out offers I want to get them to play on the native player to be able to project them on my television.
Is there a way to play .avi or other formats on the evos native player? or a way to convert them?
I've been using MediaPlayer for playing some sounds and I've found no way to get hold of a list of supported mime types at runtime. I was hoping for something along the lines of MIDP's javax.microedition.media.Manager.getSupportedContentTypes() but there doesn't seem to be anything that achieves this on Android. The only thing that there seems to be is a web page that lists supported media types (at the moment and on the small amount of devices available).
http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/media-formats.html
Does anyone know of a way of enumerating the mime types?
I get emails with .wav files from my home phone provider for voicemail. When I try to open it, I get "can't play". What can I use to play these on my HTC Droid Incredible?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAOR by leadapps did this well. But when I upgraded my moment to eclair 2.1, I could no longer find the app. This is one reason the android experience has been a let down for me; I'm no bagger or birther, but damn...this is one socialist OS. Anyway, what have you used to hear streams of .aac's?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a default ringtone for my contacts. That's all well and good and it will play the correct ringtone.
Now, the problem is, I go into my contacts and set custom ringtones for different people so I know it's them calling without even having to look. Probably about 10 or so people. The rest of the contacts, plus numbers not in my phonebook get the default.
All was well and good until last week. Now the default plays for everyone, no matter what. And when I went into my contacts and their contact page, it shows their ringtone as being the custom one I set but it's not playing. All the songs are still on my phone.
Only thing I can think of is I cleared data in ChompSMS, updated and downloaded a few apps. I've turned the phone on/off and took battery out but nothing.
Any music player that can stream audio formats aac+,pls,m3u.asx,.ram?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having a bit of trouble getting videos to play on my HTC Evo with Android 2.1. I have several videos that I play on my PSP, and work just fine. However, when I transferred them over to my Evo's MicroSD card and tried to play them in any video player, they only played the audio stream, and no picture was shown. I never had trouble getting PSP-formatted videos to work on phones before; they worked n my G1 just fine. I assumed that because the Evo and PSP even had similar-sized screens, it would be even more compatible. It sounds somewhat foolish when I type it out, but one could expect it to work. I have tried playing it in the stock video player, the Meridian player, and the Video Player app from the android market, and they all had the same error. The file is an .mp4; and, as I said, gave me no problems when played in the PSP's video player.
Here's the specifications on the video file:
Type: MPEG4
Video Codec: AVC
Audio Codec: AAC
Size: 25 MB
Length: 00:23:41
Width: 480
Height: 272
Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Data Rate: 99kbps
Total Bitrate: 147 kbps
Frame Rate: 23 fps
I tried searching all kind off applications for this but dint find to my expectations. I tried for Vplayer, but it says, cannot install. Iam using an X10 Mini Pro.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI looked into this forum and in Google but with no success so far. Yesterday I bought HTC Desire and can not understand how to play the supported video formats- mp4, wmv and 3gp on the device. I am not trying to stream these files from Internet- I have them already downloaded on my PC. I want to copy them onto my Desire and somehow play them. I have several questions: 1. Do I need to re size the video files- do they require specific resolution in order to be played? 2. Do I need to copy these videos to a specific folder on the device? Or I can just create new folder through my PC and dump them there. 3. How the hell can I actually play the movies once they get onto the device? I can not see an application which launches movies. There is a music player but not a movie player. Do I need to download a widget or an application which runs movies? If yes- please recommend a good one.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Vonage account sends me a .wav copy of each voice message via email and I used to be able to listen to them on my Dinc. View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to get the data: address, postalcode, country ect. in different country formats.
Like in Great Britain:[recipient][street name][postal town (town/city)][postal code[country name]
And in The Netherlands: [recipient] [street name] [postal code] [postal town (town/city)] [country name]
I now use the ContactsContract from Android 2.0.1 and tried the ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.StructuredPostal.DATA1 (FORMATTED_ADDRESS). But this seems to give the data as follows (no matter what country settings): [street name] [postal town (town/city)] [postal code].
I have SCOURED this forum - and others - in search of an answer for my problem and have simply not found it. I accidently set up a ringtone to be the default ringer. Which is no big deal, except that now none of my custom ringers work. No matter who calls, it plays the default ringer. I have tried to change the custom ringer to something else (contact, options - and it says the correct name...plays the correct ringer when demo-ed), and change it back to what I wanted originally - didn't work.
Tried changing the default ringer and repeating the above - didn't work. Tried using two different ringer apps from the market - didn't work. I do not use any type of task killer, and don't know the slightest thing about rooting or anything of that nature. I restarted the phone several times. Also took the battery out while still on...didn't work. After all that...still rings the default ringer EVERY time. I'm at a total loss.
my Moment just started doing something weird today. When i connect it to my pc, the phone will automatically start playing a mp3 song from my sd card? if i let the song play for a little bit, then unplug the usb, the song resets and starts over from the beginning???? There is no way to stop the music once the usb is disconnected, short of removing the battery.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Magic plays a song from one of my albums on my SD card whenever I plug it into my pc and I'm not sure but I think whenever I connect it to my car cd player using the adapter as well. I'm not sure if this is a setting that needs to be turned off because I have not found it yet. The music stops whenever I unplug it. I have USB debugging enabled as well.
