Android :: App Plays .wav Files?
Jul 15, 2010I get emails with .wav files from my home phone provider for voicemail. When I try to open it, I get "can't play". What can I use to play these on my HTC Droid Incredible?

Android :: Only Plays Default Ringer
May 13, 2010I have SCOURED this forum - and others - in search of an answer for my problem and have simply not found it. I accidently set up a ringtone to be the default ringer. Which is no big deal, except that now none of my custom ringers work. No matter who calls, it plays the default ringer. I have tried to change the custom ringer to something else (contact, options - and it says the correct name...plays the correct ringer when demo-ed), and change it back to what I wanted originally - didn't work.
Tried changing the default ringer and repeating the above - didn't work. Tried using two different ringer apps from the market - didn't work. I do not use any type of task killer, and don't know the slightest thing about rooting or anything of that nature. I restarted the phone several times. Also took the battery out while still on...didn't work. After all that...still rings the default ringer EVERY time. I'm at a total loss.
Android :: Iheartradio Plays In Slow Motion
Jan 13, 2010Whenever I play the local newstalk radio stations on my android Moment, the streams start out ok, for like 1 second, then it sounds like the people are talking in slow motion. I cab listen to fm stations and some other am stations in other cities... anyone have this appear and maybe test 1530 & 650 in Sacramento, ca. Does it work for anyone else?

Sep 29, 2010I have an interactive image which uses OnTouchListener to get the coordinates. In doing so...if a user places their finger on the area it may hit it multiple times thus getting new coordinates within the area that plays the sounds...thus playing the sound twice. Any suggestions on how to clear up this issue?

Android : Alarm CLock - Plays For Only 1 Minute Before Snoozing Itself
Jul 30, 20101) On my phone (OS 2.1) the standard alarm clock plays fine, but plays for only 1 minute before snoozing it self. Shouldn't it play the tune until I snooze it myself?
2) I hear everybody rave about Kaloer clock... so I downloaded it, and yes, very pretty and seemingly very customizable... but, of all the music I have on the phone (several gigs), it strangely only detects 2 songs.. why? The location directory for those two songs is the same as the rest..

Android :: MediaPlayer Plays Sound But Screen Is Black / No Video
Feb 14, 2009I'm just trying to play a local video that is a resource with the MediaPlayer class in the most simple way possible. I have confirmed that the video works with players that I download from the marketplace, so I'm assuming that's not the issue.
The problem is that I just get a black screen with no video. There is audio from the file playing though, so I know that the file resource is being accessed correctly, it's just not showing anything on the screen in the emulator.
The one other note is that at any time whenever I try to access getVideoWidth() or getVideoHeight() I get this (non-blocking) error:
ERROR/MediaPlayerService(24): getVideoSize returned -1
Any ideas as to what I could be doing wrong?

HTC EVO 4G :: Iphone 3gs Plays Mp4 Better Than
Jun 7, 2010Me and my brother bought the EVO and his gf has an iphone 3gs. So they both loaded the same mp4 file on their phones and played them back side to side for comparison. He said that the video looked better on the 3gs than the EVO.

Nov 22, 2010I have a default ringtone for my contacts. That's all well and good and it will play the correct ringtone.
Now, the problem is, I go into my contacts and set custom ringtones for different people so I know it's them calling without even having to look. Probably about 10 or so people. The rest of the contacts, plus numbers not in my phonebook get the default.
All was well and good until last week. Now the default plays for everyone, no matter what. And when I went into my contacts and their contact page, it shows their ringtone as being the custom one I set but it's not playing. All the songs are still on my phone.
Only thing I can think of is I cleared data in ChompSMS, updated and downloaded a few apps. I've turned the phone on/off and took battery out but nothing.
Samsung Moment :: Music Plays By Itself?

When i connect it to my pc, the phone will automatically start playing a mp3 song from my sd card? if i let the song play for a little bit, then unplug the usb, the song resets and starts over from the beginning???? There is no way to stop the music once the usb is disconnected, short of removing the battery.

The thing is, my music app wasn't even open (in Task Killer) and when I did open it, I could still select another song and play it on top of the Springsteen song - so it wasn't a Music app bug. The only way to stop it was to open the task manager (swiping to home screen down) to identify the message. Aug 4, 2010I just activated replacement Eris number two. Upon plugging it into my PC, the phone started playing a loud music track at maximum volume. When I went to adjust my volume, I found that this sound was being controlled by my ringtone volume and not media volume (interesting). I did a reboot of the phone and was greeted by the sound as soon as I plugged it in. The sound's duration is about thirty seconds.
I've plugged it into the other computer here and had the same issue. I've had it plugged into my computer for about an hour, and I have heard the music start up without notice twice so far. I did a google search as well as a search here and haven't found another user with this peculiar (if amusing/irritating) issue. I can upload a video/soundclip if wanted. I was considering rooting but I don't want to have to go to the trouble if I'm going to have to send this phone back to Verizon.
Media :: Droid Only Plays Stock Notification Sounds
Jan 2, 2010I can't get my Droid to play anything but the stock sounds for notifications. If I try a custom sound I get this crappy digital phone ring sound. I have made all my folders on the root of the card. I have tried rings extended but it still does the same thing. It shows the sound I want. It plays it in the selection screen but when it comes time for the phone to play it all I get is that stupid bell. I even used sounds that I know work as ringtones by copying them to the notifications folder, but still that ring is all I get.

1) Whenever I turn on my car and it connects to bluetooth (not a big problem)
2) Whenever I hang up a call
3) Most of the time if I Ignore an incoming call
I was in a meeting today and answered a phone call. I hang up and BAM, the music starts playing automatically. Of course at this particular time I was listening to Opie and Anthony and the first two words were something I'm not even allowed to say on this forum. I had to defend my damn job after that. This happens with both the default music player and Audible and has happened with other 3rd party music players, so it's not just an isolated incident with one particular app. Only one app plays at a time, and it seems to be whatever app I used last? I absolutely love the droid platform and my Incredible, but I'm going to have to get rid of this phone if I can't fix this problem. I see no reason that a music player should start automatically after hanging up a phone call.

Aug 15, 2010It doesn't matter what profile I have selected not that I have chosen which notification sound I want, it just starts playing a random song from my music collection. That in itself isn't so bad but what winds me up more than anything is that I have to interact with the phone to stop the tune from playing. Anyone got any ideas as to what it could be. Mar 14, 2013I have a samsung galaxy s2 on AT&T running android 4.0.4. I have the bluetooth set up to play audio through my car stereo.
Everything was working fine until a couple of days ago when I accidentally booted my phone into safe mode. I re-booted it back into normal mode, but a lot of my settings got messed up after that happened.
The odd thing is that now, when I am in my car, the phone connects to the stereo over bluetooth - I see the name of the song, artist, etc information on the car stereo, and can do things like skip to the next song using the controls in the car. However, the sound actually plays through the phone speaker instead of the car speakers!
