Oct 11, 2010It is nothing major but the "Droid" audio no longer plays during the boot up cycle. Is there any way to correct this?

View 11 RepliesI just bought the car doc and was playing with the GPS while listening to Pandora. Every time the GPS plays an audio instruction to make a turn, Pandora shuts off. Same goes when I do a speech to text with Pandora running. Anyone else see this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a samsung galaxy s2 on AT&T running android 4.0.4. I have the bluetooth set up to play audio through my car stereo.
Everything was working fine until a couple of days ago when I accidentally booted my phone into safe mode. I re-booted it back into normal mode, but a lot of my settings got messed up after that happened.
The odd thing is that now, when I am in my car, the phone connects to the stereo over bluetooth - I see the name of the song, artist, etc information on the car stereo, and can do things like skip to the next song using the controls in the car. However, the sound actually plays through the phone speaker instead of the car speakers!
Okay so some of you have probably figured this out but since it took me so long and I finally ended up pulling apart the Jager .zip install file to figure it out, here's now you do it.
Go look at any tutorial you want for making a boot animation, I'm not going into those speciffics here.
Instead of putting your first animation pictures in the folder part0, put it in the folder 'android'
In desc.txt you need to change the second line from 'p 1 0 part0' to 'p 1 0 android' substituting your loop number and frame delay appropriately of course.
Now just make sure you push bootanimation.zip and android_audio.mp3 to /data/local (this is NOT on the SD card but you can push to it without superuser)
To check to make sure it's working, do adb shell and use the bootanimation command. You can get out of it with a control-c (the audio will play but the screen will probbaly still timeout so if it goes blank just hit the power button).
I have the following native source code that is supposed to display video. It plays 3gp file ok and I can hear the audio, but the video is not shown.
CODE:..............
Any way to play a sound file while the bootanimation is playing on CM11(specifically beanstalk, but being as it is cm based...) the reason im asking is because i would like the option to play a sound file of my own choosing rather then have no sound at all.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to get rid of the sound that plays when you turn on and turn off the phone, and the video too if possible. But I can't find the file on my phone to delete it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt's been 22 hours and I still have 2 bars. This is after my first charge cycle AND I have been using a little internet, some youtube, texting, 2-3 pictures, and lots of phone customization/tweaking. I don't even have TaskKiller or an Extended battery yet. NOTE Half of the 22 hours I have been in my basement (right on lake michigan) where Verizon has to FIGHT HARD for a signal - the bars are at 0 but I can still make calls without being dropped. ATT + T Mobile don't work in my basement at all but Verizon is able to squeeze a signal somehow. Doesn't seem to be killing my battery.

View 2 Replies View RelatedNo major issues, but my startup screen does seem to take a LOT longer before the phone actually loads, and once it does none of my buttons/widgets appear for another 5-10 seconds. Additionally, once in a while when exiting a program none of the buttons are on the home screen for 3-5 seconds, and sometimes a Force Close error pertaining to the home activity will pop up ... anyone else experience anything similar, or even just notice a longer boot time?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need some tips on how to kill the battery so I can cycle it to optimal usage. Thanks. I have the display on 30 minutes (max) and Pandora streaming music. I have gps, wifi, bluetooth, and google sync on as well.

View 13 Replies View RelatedMusic plays automatically at a couple of instances:
1) Whenever I turn on my car and it connects to bluetooth (not a big problem)
2) Whenever I hang up a call
3) Most of the time if I Ignore an incoming call
I was in a meeting today and answered a phone call. I hang up and BAM, the music starts playing automatically. Of course at this particular time I was listening to Opie and Anthony and the first two words were something I'm not even allowed to say on this forum. I had to defend my damn job after that. This happens with both the default music player and Audible and has happened with other 3rd party music players, so it's not just an isolated incident with one particular app. Only one app plays at a time, and it seems to be whatever app I used last? I absolutely love the droid platform and my Incredible, but I'm going to have to get rid of this phone if I can't fix this problem. I see no reason that a music player should start automatically after hanging up a phone call.
I am becoming sick of the Incredible's stock player, mainly because of its poor shuffle mode. I have looked at apps like MixZing, Cubed, and DoubleTwist, but these all seem like they won't play music from both the sd card and internal phone storage like the stock player. Are there any players that will do this, and perhaps find album art like the others?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have read many post on changing the boot audio along with the boot animation, but was unable to get it to work with my bionic so i did some foot work with my budy and we figured out how to change the boot audio on the droid Bionic.
1. Download and extract the bootanimation file.
2. Backup/Move your stock bootanimation file out of system/bin
3. Move the new bootanimation file to system/bin
4. Move selected audio (Must be mp3 format and named "android_audio") to system/media
I am working on a boot animation for the Droid X that features a clip from the 1986 animated movie of Optimus Prime blasting some Decepticons before his battle with Megatron. Just have to fix a few things before I release it for download. I am trying to add audio but am having a problem. I load the audio file into the /data/local/ folder (as an mp3 file) but it doesn't seem to play. Here is a video of the boot animation:

I ROOTED MY HTC INCREDIBLE LAST NIGHT WITH UNREVOKED AND THEN USED A ROOT APP (Titanium Backup) AND WAS UNINSTALLING APPS LIKE SKYPE, CITY ID, VZW NAVIGATOR AND NOW THE PHONE WILL NOT BOOT UP. WHEN I TURN THE PHONE ON IT GOES TO THE "HBOOT" SCREEN AND I CAN'T GET PAST IT. HOW CAN I REINSTALL THE ANDROID OS AND GET MY PHONE BACK UP AND WORKING?
View 20 Replies View RelatedSteve Jobs has just posted a long open letter on flash, listing all the reasons why Apple has decided not to support it on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The letter is a clear, sober, in-depth view in all of Flash?s defects from Apple?s point of view, and while we?re sure it will be dissected over and over in the upcoming days (especially the part about Flash not being open), you have to admire its frankness.
In short, Steve Jobs claims Flash drains the battery of mobile devices; it?s not very good for multi-touch operation, and its performance, reliability and security are all shoddy. It?s also a proprietary system, and while Jobs admits that their mobile OS is also proprietary, he claims that web standards should be open, like HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. Most importantly Apple doesn?t want ?a third party layer of software (to) come between the platform and the developer.? Finally, Jobs concludes, Flash is a relic. ?Flash was created during the PC era ?- for PCs and mice,? he says, ?but the mobile era is about low power devices, touch interfaces and open web standards ?- all areas where Flash falls short.
My Incredible's battery only lasts about 4 hours. What can I do to make it last longer?
View 28 Replies View RelatedI know that you are supposed to initially let your phone charge for 8 hours, but is it a problem if you charge it longer? I should be getting mine tonight, and plan on plugging it in when i get it but just want to make sure it won't harm the battery to leave it plugged in overnight for longer than 8 hours.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to Froyo (Manual Update.zip method), the stock internet browser crashes on load of MULTIPLE sites....including Android forums here.
It loads up a little bit of it...you see some sign of loading...than before it fully loads...CRASH, just closes itself down. This is also true for most of any other forums I visit with the phone. I also noticed a crash from other sites as well. What's the deal? I tried clearing all my history, cookies, etc. on the browser...also tried a couple of battery pulls.
NOTE:
Dolphin Browser HD does not have this behavior....but I would much prefer to continue using Stock browser (It is WAY faster now). ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE.
UPDATE:
In short, it seems most flash DOES NOT work. Whats the deal?
I had heard Verizon was unable to allow voice and data usage at the same time. However, when I got my DI I was able to surf the web while talking on the phone. Then this morning Verizon pushes out some update and suddenly when im on the phone 3g disappears.from the top bar and I get an error message that I can't connect to the web. What happened and is there anyway.to reverse this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe clock/weather widget seems to no longer know my current location. All it says is literally "Current location". Prior to the 2.2 upgrade and even for a while after the upgrade it used to show the actual city or town I was in. I've played around with the settings under Settings -> Location but nothing makes a difference.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince i got 2.2 it is taking much longer to CHARGE my battery. Before the update, it seemed to gain about 1% every minute, so about 1.5hrs to go from 15% or so to full. I thought it seemed longer lately, so at about 11:20 i plugged it in with 17%. At 1am, it was at 66%. Usually it would be close to or at 100%. What gives?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd love some input from anyone before I take my Incredible in for service, please.Three days ago I realized that the charging light was remaining yellow long beyond the phone's usual charge time. Even after leaving it plugged in overnight, the next morning I was still at less than half charge, going only by the Settings>About Phone>Battery>Battery Level graphical display. Last night same thing, whether the phone was on or off, still a yellow charge light. Today for the first time since I got the phone, the battery indicator itself turned yellow towards the end of the day.Preemptive facts:Prior to starting a new thread, I did a thorough search and found nothing related to this specific battery issue.I have the OEM, red, HTC battery, and have never charged it outside of the phone, or with any charging cable other than the one supplied with the phone. When I first received the phone, I charged it fully, unplugged, and bumped charged before turning it on. For about a week afterward I would charge to green while on, unplug, turn off, and "bump charge". I have never had trouble getting through the day on a single charge, and no, I don't think I was training a lithium ion battery, I believed I may have been training the software of the phone itself.I have tried charging the phone fully both on and off, and have not seen green for over two days. This includes continuous charging for over 10 hours.I have had the phone for roughly seven weeks. The phone does charge- just now I have gone from @25% (as measured on the aforementioned graphical display) to @40%, but at that point it seems to no longer charge, although the "Battery State" says "Charging AC" and the little battery icon shows the charging animation.Have I got a dead battery, or am I missing something? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.
View 2 Replies View Relatedused to be that hitting the word "weather" on the weather widget would pull up the webpage to get more weather info. This no longer works. What did I do?? (from page 123 of the manual)
