I have an interactive image which uses OnTouchListener to get the coordinates. In doing so...if a user places their finger on the area it may hit it multiple times thus getting new coordinates within the area that plays the sounds...thus playing the sound twice. Any suggestions on how to clear up this issue?

Is there a app that plays random sounds from my phone with having any notifications? I just want to have a playlist of sounds that randomly play when i'm walking around.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't get my Droid to play anything but the stock sounds for notifications. If I try a custom sound I get this crappy digital phone ring sound. I have made all my folders on the root of the card. I have tried rings extended but it still does the same thing. It shows the sound I want. It plays it in the selection screen but when it comes time for the phone to play it all I get is that stupid bell. I even used sounds that I know work as ringtones by copying them to the notifications folder, but still that ring is all I get.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI wonder if ne one had an major issue with their touch screen before like I had with mine. So I decided to post this little story. Let me start off with a little background info. I got my droid november 6, 5 46am central time zone. don't ask me how but the vzw dude was letting me earlier cuz I had work. I was so happy that day leaving t mobile I did love my g1 but wen I read all about the droid I felt likt I had to leave her and move on. She did do a lot for me but time tells all and it was my time go and move on.Untill two months ago (Present time I'm talking in) I realized not everyone has the bubbly keyboard. I saw friends at my unit (I'm in the army reserves) that bought the droid a couple of months after me had flat keyboards n they were bitching bout how flat it was. I agreed with them since I was woth a g1 the keyboard was a bit flat but nothing to were its such a pain, so my friend shows me his keyboard and I looked shocked played with it was like wow and I pulled my n did a side by side side comprasion and this before I saw the bubbley keyboard thread on here. So unforunately my toucscreen starting doin its own thing like it was ghost writer and spazzing out. I had no control over it this happened monday nite and I was dreading it that I will end up replacing it. But it would not let me do nothing.I couldn't go ne where on my screen it would randomly hit different icons to the point were sum times it would call my contacts. I only had control over the physical buttons. So on Tuesday during work I fought the ghost writer to let get to setting a do a system restore. First minute of the set up was ok but right wen it finish and I was on the home screen again. I was like FUDGE I don't want to replace my rare Droid. After work I replaced it, I was real pissed I had the bubbly keyboard and (something I didn't noticed untill I got my replacement) the golden plated volume side button. I miss my precious rare droid. I was soo proud to be first non employee to have the droid in houston.

What type of object do I use for a shape that I want the user to be able to drag around the screen for instance using touch gestures? How do I tie together the MotionEvent, View and Graphics2D to make objects drawn on screen that can be interacted with? I imagine this will use ActionListeners / Handlers but I'm a bit confused at this stage.

Is there an app which can take into account the gap between the prompts and can automate the inputs. E.g. wait for 2 secs, then enter 1, then wait for 1 second and enter the phone number etc.

But I was recently having some GMail syncing issues and during the troubleshooting for that I uninstalled the latest GMail update and reinstalled it. As a result, GMail is now doing audible notificatrion sounds for new email when before I only had notification in t he notification bar. I can't seem to get it turned off. I still want calendar events and texts to sound so I don't want to silence the phone but I want email and GMail to be silent (Notification icon only).
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn a nut shell, when the app is loaded, it will play a short movie (maybe a few seconds at most @ 12-24fps). I will then have 2 buttons displayed on the screen, and depending on what button is pressed, it I will play another short movie (5-10 seconds). While waiting for the user to make a decision, the movie will be looping.
The movie source is stop-motion photography so it's already chopped up into frames. My question here is if I should use a Frame Animation technique, or if I should use a Movie player for this. All in all perhaps there's less than 100 still frames that make up the stop-motion. I was going to go the Frame Animation route, but I wasn't sure if having so many individual frames would kill the app so I thought I'd post here to see if anyone had any insight.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have SCOURED this forum - and others - in search of an answer for my problem and have simply not found it. I accidently set up a ringtone to be the default ringer. Which is no big deal, except that now none of my custom ringers work. No matter who calls, it plays the default ringer. I have tried to change the custom ringer to something else (contact, options - and it says the correct name...plays the correct ringer when demo-ed), and change it back to what I wanted originally - didn't work.
Tried changing the default ringer and repeating the above - didn't work. Tried using two different ringer apps from the market - didn't work. I do not use any type of task killer, and don't know the slightest thing about rooting or anything of that nature. I restarted the phone several times. Also took the battery out while still on...didn't work. After all that...still rings the default ringer EVERY time. I'm at a total loss.
Whenever I play the local newstalk radio stations on my android Moment, the streams start out ok, for like 1 second, then it sounds like the people are talking in slow motion. I cab listen to fm stations and some other am stations in other cities... anyone have this appear and maybe test 1530 & 650 in Sacramento, ca. Does it work for anyone else?

1) On my phone (OS 2.1) the standard alarm clock plays fine, but plays for only 1 minute before snoozing it self. Shouldn't it play the tune until I snooze it myself?
2) I hear everybody rave about Kaloer clock... so I downloaded it, and yes, very pretty and seemingly very customizable... but, of all the music I have on the phone (several gigs), it strangely only detects 2 songs.. why? The location directory for those two songs is the same as the rest..

I'm just trying to play a local video that is a resource with the MediaPlayer class in the most simple way possible. I have confirmed that the video works with players that I download from the marketplace, so I'm assuming that's not the issue.
The problem is that I just get a black screen with no video. There is audio from the file playing though, so I know that the file resource is being accessed correctly, it's just not showing anything on the screen in the emulator.
The one other note is that at any time whenever I try to access getVideoWidth() or getVideoHeight() I get this (non-blocking) error:
ERROR/MediaPlayerService(24): getVideoSize returned -1
Any ideas as to what I could be doing wrong?

Me and my brother bought the EVO and his gf has an iphone 3gs. So they both loaded the same mp4 file on their phones and played them back side to side for comparison. He said that the video looked better on the 3gs than the EVO.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a default ringtone for my contacts. That's all well and good and it will play the correct ringtone.
Now, the problem is, I go into my contacts and set custom ringtones for different people so I know it's them calling without even having to look. Probably about 10 or so people. The rest of the contacts, plus numbers not in my phonebook get the default.
All was well and good until last week. Now the default plays for everyone, no matter what. And when I went into my contacts and their contact page, it shows their ringtone as being the custom one I set but it's not playing. All the songs are still on my phone.
Only thing I can think of is I cleared data in ChompSMS, updated and downloaded a few apps. I've turned the phone on/off and took battery out but nothing.
