My Marketplace widget is not working after the update to 2.2 I am on 3 network here is what the message is when i press on the market icon on my phone - " The linked program is no longer installed on your phone"..

I've done a search through the threads to see if I can find the same issue, so please forgive me if I'm duplicating anything here. I have an HTC Desire on Orange. Until earlier today, my weather widget was working fine, it knew where I was and it updated the weather accurately. This afternoon it recognizes my location correctly but now says 'no weather data available'. It still shows weather for the other locations - London, Paris, etc, but not for where I am now. The only thing I can think of that has changed is that I just installed an update on an app I have (White Noise Lite from TMSOFT). Might uninstalling this app help? I tried to manually add in my location, wondering if this would work, but it is not available on the list of locations. I've tried removing and then re-adding the weather widget to my home screens. I've tried turning my phone off and on again, in the spirit of all IT helpdesk encounters I've ever had.
View 2 Replies View Relatedive the news feed widget on my homescreen and it just shows the headlines til the other day i just had to press the headline i was interested in and it took me to another page showin headline and saying press for full story. if pressed took you to the bbc site onto that story. now if you press it just does nothing. it flashes green so it knows its been touched but doesnt do anything. ive not changed any settings or anything

My second question is- where is the "Update all" button in the Market. I can not see it anywhere.I am running Froyo 2.2, Orange branded Desire, stock ROM.
Just updated to Froyo and tried to re-install Sling player from the market but it's not there. My wife can still find it on her 2.1 Desire so what the heck's going on?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince getting HTC's unbranded 2.2 on my Desire I'm no longer getting notifications about apps that have been updated on the Market. The notifications option is set to "Notify when items are updated" and I've tried various combinations of disabling and enabling it and rebooting the phone and still I'm not getting notifications for updates. I always got notified when I had 2.1.I've posted this a few times in the bugs thread, but it just gets lost in all the other talk, which is why I've started this thread.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having an issue with apps on my phone. Basically, over the past few days, I cant update apps from the marketplace at all. The market comes up tellling me there are new updates, when I go to download and install them, they all download fine, and then start installing, and then all of a sudden, it tells me installation was unsuccessful and nothing happens anymore. Its doing this for all apps I try to download from the market. Help would be much appreciated. Btw, I've got my phone set to install apps to mem card as default using the force apps to sd work around thing that was posted on the board.

One question though, the "standard" HTC clock widget, that includes the weather on it won't auto update. If I click it, then menu, then settings the only selectable options are "Update when opened" and "Temperature scale".
The options for "Update automatically" and "Update schedule" are greyed out. I've tried adjusting the sync settings in the main settings section but nothing makes a difference.
How can I get this to work? Frequently I will look at my phone and it will tell me my location but not the weather. And whilst it isn't vital, I jkust think the screen looks nicer with a sun or cloud or moon or whatever on it.
Has anybody managed to get the news widget to auto-update? Twitter is fine just the news widget.

View 49 Replies View RelatedGot my new desire a few weeks ago on o2, I am having problems with the HTC weather & flip clock widget (the one you get with it), when I go to the weather settings and set the auto update for every hour (or any interval) I do not save the settings, the auto update is always unchecked when I go back to check. Done the usual things remove the widget and added it again to the screen but still does not work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOk I'm not overly techy on this Android stuff but I've just done a system software update to software number 2.09.405.8 and after the update the HTC_IME mod keyboard was constantly going into force close so I unchecked to use the standard keyboard than checked to use the HTC_IME mod again and its having no effect just using the standard keyboard now don't seem to be able to get HTC_IME mod back.

HTC Weather Widget broken?
Mine worked for a day and now I get the location but no weather update.
All other locations display all info fine.
Im in Australia on Vodafone - although from the previous mentioned thread seems to be software related rather than carrier location
I can create a static widget without thinking, I can even create a widget like the analogue clock widget that will update itself, however, I can not for the life of me figure out how to create a widget that reacts to when a user clicks on it. Here is the best code sample that the developer documentation gives to what a widget activity should contain (the only other hint being the API demos, which only creates a static widget):

I have alot (and I mean ALOT) of apps on my Xperia, so I get around 5 app updates a day, which is now starting to agitate me because most of them are the same apps everyday needing updates.
Today I heard about an update for the market that includes an auto update feature for installed apps. But I, like many others, do not see this option on the market.
Does anyone have any idea how to get it? or if I can't get it, when can I?
Does it actually work? I still have to manually update the apps I put on auto update.

View 1 Replies View Relatedall my contacts are google contacts with several linked to Facebook accounts.When I access my contacts through the People widget, all's good, I only see the google contacts (I've deselected Facebookers in the view menu). However when I access the Messages widget all my contacts are doubled up for some reason. I realise this list is also showing facebook contacts as well as google contacts but even the non-facebook contacts are doubled up.

I go to search in the market, and type in dialer, it brings up all the customisable dialer choices, if i choose ANY of them, i go to pay, and everytime i get the error message "A server error has occurred,retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen" but it is only on the dialer packages.i can buy and download anything else fine,

After installing the 2.1 update onto a SE X10 mini the Android Market will not function. It opens, I can browse and select apps but when attempting to download it states 'starting Download', with a barber-pole bar, but the download goes no further. I have re-installed the update which seemed to work at first with one download working but then the same problem re-occurred. Based on info in other feedback on this blog I reviewed the app settings but there is no update to uninstall. how to get the Market to work?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo one of the cool things about Froyo is being able to check off Enable Automatic Update for market apps. So i have that checked off for like 80+% of my 80+ apps (that took a while to do let me tell you). Now i have had three apps have updates available since i checked off the box, yet they never actually automatically updated. I waited, hours, still never updated. Is there a setting i need to modify? Do i need to tell it what time of day to do it? Anyone else noticing this? I only really want it in apps that i don't care about reading the new features. But it is annoying that i have it enabled and it does nothing.
