View 12 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to delete messages on the Droid without deleting them on the email server? My Curve would allow me to do this. My wife and I use the same email, and she gets bombarded with mail that clutters my phone. BB made it easy to delete only on the handheld, but I don't see any such option on the Droid.

On the Speed Test app, the highest speeds I get are 1.8m/bs downloads and around 500kpbs upload. However, those were at off peak times at night etc (probably when nobody is using the net).Generally I get anything from 0.3 m/bs to 0.9 m/bs though. Lately I've been experiencing some inconsistent internet speeds and reconnection attempts so for I've gone back to the default settings. Tbh though I'm not sure if it makes much difference.

The apps tell me I dint have the required credentials. So I go to better terminal and type "su" and wait for the "#" so that I know I have root but it gives me an error. So the only way to get root back is to reboot phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using Launcher Pro and just yesterday I started having the issue where if you long-press Home and switch apps, you remove your default launch choice and then need to reselect it the next time you short-press on Home. It remembers the setting until I again long-press and use the app switcher. My question: how do I get this to stick? What 'app' is used to do the app switch by default, and is there anything else I could use to do this? I would hate to be stuck with this permanently, and I'm not thinking it is LauncherPro's fault. What other apps could conflict and cause this behavior?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm new to my HTC Desire and Android in general, so please bear with me. At home, I have no Wi-Fi but my PC is connected to the web via ADSL. Is there a way to allow my HTC Desire to connect to the internet via USB using the connection my PC has to the internet (i.e. using it as a gateway)? I know that you can use the phone to allow the PC to connect to the web - but is the opposite possible as well?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI got my HTC desire to help me while traveling extensively overseas. I need the gps to get places and translators as well as the internet for booking stuff. On getting to Europe I can't find a prepaid sim that includes data. As my partner says all I have now is an expensive majong set. I can phone and text but what is the point of having translators if you can't use it overseas.
View 11 Replies View RelatedIs there an app that monitors what's using the Internet? I have switched everything that uses it but 3g watchdog still registers some activity. I have very little data per month and I want to use it efficiently. I even got task killer but no luck. should I remove my email settings? I have switched off sync and even updates
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhat is "Internet Data"? Is it ok to delete it via the applications menu? If so, what "data" will I lose?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an app that allows me to turn off/on my bluetooth and wifi with one click but can't seem to find one that turns off the GPRS data connection.
I've gone into turn off the Background data but i still get the arrow pointing away from the phone at the top under the "H" symbol showing that data is still being transmitted intermittently. I have set my facebook, email and weather etc to update manually.
the only way that i can stop the arrows under the H from flashing (i presume thats the gprs transfering data) is to have my wifi on then the "H" goes away. But I am trying to conserve battery so i would like to have wifi, bt and gprs off until i need it.
I recently bought a desire and I love it, the only problem I have with it is that sometimes I can be somewhere, like a train station I change at, and even though I have full signal my phone won't make/receive calls or receive/send messages? This only seems to happen when my internet disappears, I had it at a Stevie Wonder concert at the weekend as well, full signal but no internet which somehow prevented me doing the above?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently migrated from HTC touch HD to HTC desire, in my previous phone which was Windows mobile 6.0 I could easily connect to my Internet connection on my PC and update whether & GPS info without ever subscribing to a data plan on my mobile. Unfortunately I was not able to do so on my HTC desire phone I was kind of wondering if anybody know how could I do this without utilizing WiFi or data plan on the phone by means of some application or some settings.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHas anyone tried this yet? Will it just use the Internet through your pc?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSince a couple of days the internet on my Desire doesn't work anymore. (WIFI does) the weird thing is: When i have my phone in my pocket or on the table and my screen is off, it recieves gprs. But when i turn my screen on the gprs turns into 3g, then in HSPA and then it disappears. This takes about 5 seconds or less..
When i put my simcard in my old iphone 3g the internet works fine, so that means its my phone to blame and not the network
I recently rooted my phone and updated the rom to froyo and eversince i have been having very high internet usage so i have 2 questions!
1. Is there a way i can block certain apps from using the 3G internet?
2. Is there an app that will tell me what apps are using what amount of 3G internet usage?
I checked the other "no internet connection threads" but I don't quite see the same problem as I think I'm having. I have a non-rooted Desire (Swiss Sunrise) and I updated to 2.2. I'm going on a week's holiday soon and I wanted to see if my Irish sim would work in my phone because the data roaming rates with Sunrise are extortionate (13.90 Swiss francs per megabyte!). Lo and behold, I put the card in and it works no problem! I rang my wife's phone just to check.
There was an alert that came up, asking me to select my home network and I chose o2.ie and I think this may be where things went wrong. Now I can't connect to the mobile internet network even though I have selected Sunrise in settings->wireless/network->mobile network->access point names. Can someone tell me how I can reset my home network to Sunrise?
I' ve been using a lot my Desire these days and absolutely love it.I surf the Internet a lot and just wanted to make sure if I get it all right:
1. If I only use the Mobile Network Internet on my phone that means I am using the Internet my provider (Orange in this case) gives me per month. I have 1GB limited Interned each month and therefore surfing the web through the Mobile Network option means I am draining from that 1GB limit.
2. If I only use the Wi-Fi Internet (when Mobile Network is OFF) on the phone that means I connect to (in this case) my home Internet router and use it to access Internet and therefore do not drain any of the 1GB limit I have per month.
Is that right? I use Internet a lot and don't want to end up paying huge bills to Orange. And last question- what happens if both options (Mobile Network and Wi-Fi) are turned ON? What Internet will I be using- Orange's or the one from my home Internet router?
Got Orange panther 40 unlimited and tonight have had them confirm its 1gb fair usage policy. Although as good as they are it does keep changing. Anyway did a small experimentation with 3g watchdog and tonight I've scooted around a few forums and its used 7 mb seems a lot.
