View 2 Replies View RelatedOk time for the next issue with this phone. Has anyone noticed a general lag between touch screen presses and actions/sounds?
The best examples are:
1) I type fast, and keep the click sound when I type. I can literally hear about a 1/4 second to 1/2 second lag between when I press the buttons and when the sound clicks.
2) Download any free piano or drum up and try to keep a steady beat. There's a nasty lag between when you tap the screen and when the sound comes out.
For comparison, the keyboard and piano app on my old iphone (3G no less), work perfectly. And my iPad is wonderfully smooth.
Is this a software issue, or a problem with my phone?
Musical Lite is a good sample program for free if anyone wants to try this out.
I got pretty good guessing the touch buttons one they time out, but still annoying as I did miss sometimes.Well just now, I decided to do something about it.A real quick poke through the phone revealed a very easy fix.The path is here.Settings[Sound & Display[Keyboard timeout[Same as Screen timeout my screen timeout is 1 min.As we all know, and I verified this. The keyboard backlight only turns on when the slider is open. Now the touch-sensitive buttons will infact stay lit as long as you would need them, while the screen is on .Life just got a little easier B)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI like many of you have been waiting for months to get my hands on the epic. However when I bought one, the battery life was insanely unusable even after 4-5 days. So I finally returned it for a new on. Well find out over the next few days how the battery performs. But the new one has capacitive buttons that barely respond to touch. Particularly the home key and menu key. I've read of a bunch of people having similar problems. Are we just a few unlucky people who happen to be on the forums, or is Samsung having serious Quality control issues here?
View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have the same problem, I just got my Epic today and when I plugged it into my computer to charge it the touch screen doesn't work. Any workarounds that people know of?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else's touch screen become unresponsive when the Epic is being charged? My touch screen gets glitchy and only responds to a fraction of touches.
I just received mine yesterday and I've already spent more than 6 hours trying to troubleshoot this issue. Most of the google searches that I've found have to do with cheap 3rd party chargers, but I'm using the OEM Samsung charger.
I thought it might be the charger, so I went out and purchased 4 different chargers today, but none of them fix the issue.
I also ordered another Epic for my wife at the same time, and her Epic has the same problem, which suggests that it's not a defective phone (unless they both came from the same batch).
To confuse things even more, I've been able to isolate 2-3 outlets in the house where this problem doesn't happen. The problem also doesn't happen when I charge at work, through a car charger, or via USB from the laptop.
I'm inclined to think it has something to do with the outlets in the house. However, I've never heard of any issue like that and the house is relatively new (built in '98).
I keep losing root access for some reason. Foe example I can load any rom but after about an hour I cant use apps that require root. Like cache mate or titanium backup. The apps tell me I dint have the required credentials. So I go to better terminal and type "su" and wait for the "#" so that I know I have root but it gives me an error. So the only way to get root back is to reboot phone.

During a call, when I put the phone by my left ear, my ear and/or my cheek touch the screen, and though one would expect the buttons on the touch screen to be disabled during a call, when held against the ear and the face, I keep accidentally hanging up calls or in some other occasions, muting, having frustrated monologues to myself, thinking that the other person is ignoring me...
I mentioned using the left ear, because, it seems to have always happened when I held the phone by my left ear and not when I held it by my right ear.
I'm trying to find a more elegant solution, as dropping numerous calls is not an option. (today I dropped more than 15 calls). Any suggestions?
Is anyone else having a problem with the back button sticking down (physically, not a software issue) after pressing?

View 3 Replies View Relatedhow to update to a new OS since Google can seem to get it right (unless someone already has) . I've had two phones on two different carriers turn to crap after updating. When I updated to Gingerbread on my droid incredible, my bluetooth went to hell. When I updated my Epic 4G touch on sprint, my bluetooth, battery and bother things went to hell. All I did on both was click update. Maybe next time I should do a factory reset first? The crazy thing is that I even rolled back to gingerbread on my Epic 4G touch but my bluetooth never really recovered. Should I also remove all my pairings first?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI made an account just for this as I can't figure out how to get around having only "Vibrate always, never or only in silent or not in silent" when I go to sleep, there is no easy way to turn the vibration off. It used to be with phones you could use the volume rocker to bringer down to vibrate... then one level down to completely silent except for alarms.
On this phone, if I want the phone on full silent without vibration, I cant easily switch to vibration with no sounds. It's either vibrate in silent, or vibrate with a ringer, no alternative.

I currently installed CM10 Jelly Bean on my Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch. I understand it is still in beta and there are going to be bugs but for the most part everything works smoothly. One issue I am experiencing is when listening to music, whether via Apollo or Pandora, I set the volume to as low as it can go and it's still extremely loud. Here is some of my info :
Model Number: SPH-D710
Android Version: 4.1.1
Baseband Version: FF18
Kernal Version: 3.0.15 - CM-g0a65b27-dirty sbrissen@sbrissen #2

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using Launcher Pro and just yesterday I started having the issue where if you long-press Home and switch apps, you remove your default launch choice and then need to reselect it the next time you short-press on Home. It remembers the setting until I again long-press and use the app switcher. My question: how do I get this to stick? What 'app' is used to do the app switch by default, and is there anything else I could use to do this? I would hate to be stuck with this permanently, and I'm not thinking it is LauncherPro's fault. What other apps could conflict and cause this behavior?
