As of ics when you move browser in the background, that is switch from browser to another app, the flash content on the web page gets paused, like the waiting seconds countdown on a file sharing website, it simply means you can't multitask, So is there a app that can prevent the browser from being dead in the background, or a floating browser will do the trick

I have a ics tablet, and I am getting really frustrated with Opera mobile keep reloading while I'm in another app or two. my tablet has 1gb ram. I tried autokiller memory optimizer, and auto memory manager to keep opera alive, but its not permanent. and V6 supercharger sounds wayy to complicated for me. and this tablet doesn't have a recovery (its rooted though), so the instruction sounds more complicated to me. so I saw one post in xda somewhere, that I can modify build.prop to set oom priority and it will be kept permanently.

I'm on 4.2.2 (old ROM and new ROM) and I don't seem to have any Flash binaries installed, but I thought it was built into browsers now since Flash for Android is discontinued.

I have a tabbed interface (one activity per tab) where one tab will be a browser view displaying a webpage. The application loads in a different activity / view, but I want it to begin to download the webpage in the background as soon as the app launches, before the user ever clicks on that tab and initiates that activity. How can I do this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've set the background image of a custom ImageButton I am building, as well as setClickable(true) and setFocusable(true). The button is able to receive focus when I navigate with DPad/arrow keys in the emulator, however, it does not flash orange when it has the focus. It does not appear to change at all when it has the focus, in fact. When I remove the background image, however, the ImageButtons hold orange when they have focus.
What do I need to do to be enable an ImageButton with a custom background image to flash orange when it has focus?
i'am trying to load an url in background using the default browser. So the user can switch to the browser whenever he finished reading the current activity and the page is already loaded. Is there a way to fire an Intent (Browser) but stay in the original Activity? I'am aware of the FrameLayout approach with setting the visibilty but this is not possible with the default browser.

I found this video on youtube and someone is having the same problem I'm having. Also whenever I plug the phone into the ac adapter to charge it, the memory card becomes unavailable as if the phone thinks I'm using usb to pc.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have Flashed the LeeDrOiD v2.2b ROM and when accessing the Stock browser it will randomly crash, it's a strange crash because normally a crash will mean that you will exit from the browser and next time it will load to the homepage, on mine though it will sort of crash but then load the page I was on, even if it wasn't my homepage, if I had any tabs open I would also lose all of those, which is how I know it's crashing.
This isn't specific to this version of the ROM though as I've had this since v1.4, when I asked in the XDA forums they said it might be to do with re-installing my backed up data, basically I went from Android 2.1 to 2.2 when I Flashed the ROM and they said that backing up data when crossing over Android versions could cause problems.
What I have done this time though is not backup anything, no SMS, no system settings, nothing! I deleted everything off my SD Card, cleared the cache, then cleared the Dalvik cache, did a factory reset, Flashed the ROM and then Flashed the radio but still this problem exists, I haven't backed up anything this time, although when I logged into the Market with my Google account it synced my contacts back onto my phone, as they're linked to my Google account somehow.
This is really starting to annoy me now but I can't figure out for the life of me why it happens, I've tried replicating it to narrow down the cause but I can make it happen one time doing it a certain way but then doing it that way again it'll be fine.
Has anyone got any ideas of how I can overcome this problem or how to Flash the ROM so that my browser will work correctly, this browser problem is the only problem I have with the ROM, apart from that it is superb.
Any help very much appreciated!
EDIT: Also, the browser can crash whether I'm connected to a data plan/Wi-Fi or not!
I just got the OTA 2.2 update and love the speed of Froyo...it REALLY is faster that 2.1. BUT its not fast enough to run flash properly on some pages. IGN.com is one site that its just to choppy to scroll around properly. I'd rather have speed and smoothness than flash and I don't see any options to disable flash.
Anyone know if it can be disabled and where is the option? And by disable it I mean give the static image....not the green arrow in the white box. The reason is because some pages do not render properly when flash is disabled. A HUGE white box covers a lot of the screen. One example is IGN.com.
Also on a side note, everything else to me was extremely fast on 2.1 and the reason why most people can't tell 2.2 is faster is because they are looking at the fast things in 2.1 and trying to decide if its faster...which you can't really do...you have to look at whats slow. Its like seeing a car fly by...was it going 90 or 100? Hard to tell....but I'm sure you can tell between a car going 20 or 60.
Below are a couple of things in 2.2 is definetely faster than 2.1 for me.
1. Scrolling through text messages is much smoother than 2.1
2. There was a slight 1 - 2 second delay in 2.1 when going to bookmarks (using the thumbnail option)...I guess to load up the images...it is now much quicker. Also, scrolling through the thumbnail bookmarks is a lot quicker.
Failblog.org is a daily visit for me. I have been enjoying the ability to play the videos on that site on my Evo until a few days ago. The video loads and it says it's starting to play then I get the big yellow triangle and clicking on it says "This content is not supported". It was supported. No more? What changed? Anyone else have this problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMaybe its just me but with this RUU and full flash, the browser scrolls a lot slower. I was running skyraider before and noticed this after I installed the full flash apk. Removed full flash and scrolling sped up like before.
Anyone notice this?
I'm temped to revert back to either skyraider or flash lite. The browser lag is quite annoying. Anyone know how to disable full flash in the latest leak (cant uninstall it). I imagine i could just rename something. Any tips?

I just installed Dolphin HD browser but for some reason it's not loading any flash content on any site. Anyone have any ideas why not? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and rebooting as well. This, this and even the mobile help page crash the browser (links included for you to try ). No force close, the browser just vanishes and I get returns me to the phone home screen.
I've cleared the cache and cookies and even restarted the phone to no avail (and no, I'm not doing a hard reset ).
iPlayer pages are OK as is YouTube.
Is this a BBC problem? Is anyone else having the same issue or is it just me?
Running stock browser on LauncherPro on FroYo.
Everytime I now try and view flash content my browser just shuts down. There is no error, or anything. It occurs after I tap on the flash content box with the green arrow. It is doing this for both Dolphin HD, and the stock browser.

Has anyone else had this problem? and if so, are there any solutions to this besides uninstalling flash?

I've posted a link to their platform requirements page which is way over my newbie head -- so if you are a bit technically minded, can you tell me if this would work on the Droid?
