I have an HTC Desire rooted with Open Desire. Today I just woke up, opened my device and I always got an Android system error message, and nothing would load. I tried rebooting, I took out the battery, I put a different SD card, I restored an older backup and I wiped all the data! Now it's always stuck at the green hTc screen.

How do you reboot? I seem to have lost the original home screen and I'd like it back. Will it return on a reboot or reset. Will I have to reinput my email settings etc? Been waiting a long time for Desire but totally new to smartphones and Android.
Upgrading from a Nokia and a Palm T5.
My phone soft reboots every few seconds, gets as far as "HTC, Quietly Brilliant" and then reboots, anyone had this before and know of a solution? I've googled around but most people with a reboot issue it is random, mine is constant and has been rebooting constantly for over an hour, only way to stop it is yank out the battery but still can't boot afterwards.

When i Turn on my Desire i will be prompted to enter the pin. When i dont enter anything the system loads and i just can make emergency calls.
So the question is how to enter my PIN afterwards ?
My phone is playing up, particularly signal and reception wise. So I want to 'format' the phone back to its factory settings and start again. However, I have a few questions. Firstly, I have noted what apps I have downloaded. Apart from the ones on the SD card, will I have to pay for the paid apps again in the Market? Will my phone revert back to 2.1?What's the best way to reboot the phone?

Only directly after such a reboot one can set the phone discoverable without fear of another crash. Terrific!
Is there any place where could one report that bug, where Google and/or HTC would be listening?
A few weeks ago I registered for that network thing, back then I was using the HTC Hero. At first it would work, then if I turned my phone work, it would say "Sim can not be registered to this Network" and when I searched for other Networks, only Orange would appear.
When I got the Desire, I can never seem to get this to work still. Orange has terrible signal in my area although there site says its amazing. I never have network in my own home. and Im not sure I have ever saw full bars on my Desire.
So my question is, does yours work 24/7 if you have it. Does anyone else get the sim not registered thing after a reboot and how can I actually set it up properly cause I may be doing it wrong. p.s I have roaming n etc on
I was just sending a text and all of a sudden i had the black screen of death and then the phone seemed to reboot itself with an image of a red triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle of it
I proceeded to try and turn the phone off but it gave me lots of options with a white screen, i couldn't get it to do anything so i took the battery out and then it started normally.
So, I'm new to Android and this whole WORLD of things lol. How often do yall restart/reboot the phone? Kind of on-topic, but has anyone had any issues turning the phone right back on after turning it off? I've had this happen twice, where the phone wouldn't do anything, power button useless. This is after the phone shuts down and I try to turn it back on. I have to pull the battery to get the power to turn on.

The widget id is the key in the database.Everything works on most devices, but I got a bug report a couple of days ago. A user said that the widget never worked after reboot. The REBOOT permission doesn't show up in the list of permissions for my app even though other permissions do. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have one specific text message that I sent to a buddy of mine last week that gets re-sent to him every time I reboot my phone (Incredible). It's always the same message and it always shows in the messaging app as the last message sent to him, but it only shows once. The previous occurrences do not show. Seems as though it is not getting a confirmation that the message was sent, so it retries it on a reboot. But my friend gets every one. I have uninstalled Handcent and it still happens with stock messaging app.Anyone know a way to clear pending/unconfirmed SMS's?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy rooted Evo keeps hanging up after I try to reboot into recovery. When I rooted my Evo I had used a bat file from my desktop to get into recovery after original root. My question is will I have to run this file again from my desktop with my Evo connected to get into recovery mode again to flash fresh Rom. Will there be any issues with running this recovery file again. Or Am I missing a step to get into recovery. Power off hold volume down while power on volume scroll down to recovery press power button.

I had Fresh 0.2 on my Evo, and now I'm trying to flash Fresh 0.5.3 I get through all the steps (ClockworkMod recovery, wipe data, wipe cache, install zip, reboot), but then the phone keeps loading the white HTC EVO 4G screen for a few seconds, then rebooting. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do?
View 8 Replies View RelatedEveryday I go to the gym and turn on my Motorola bluetooth headphones (Amazon.com: Motorola S305 Bluetooth Stereo Headset ) and then click on the Bluetooth widget on my EVO and after two beeps, I start hearing the phone through the headphones.
When I'm done, I tap on the Bluetooth widget and the phone freezes and then reboots. Sometimes it comes up with Bluetooth still turned on and when I tap it again, it reboots again. Every single time.
When I go to Settings>Wireless and uncheck Bluetooth it often does not reboot but sometimes it does.
Since it takes for.freakin.ev.er to come back after a reboot, I'd like to streamline my process and skip the reboot part.
(Not rooted. And I've never used the Bluetooth function for anything but this one headset. When not using headset, I keep Bluetooth turned off.)
I installed CM using CWM onto my HTC Deluxe. I tried 4 different nightlies and the 10.2 stable and after installing any of them, I get this... it reboots into the white htc screen with a quick vibrate. Then it goes black for a second and reboots again. No CM screen or anything!
I've tried flashing it multiple times, doing factory resets, clearing cache and dalvaic cache. I am at a loss as to what to do next. with the 10.2, instead of rebooting it just gets stuck at the HTC white screen!
This procedure can clear a large number of problems and should be tried before a Hard Reset.
1.) Turn phone off remove battery WAIT for at least two minutes.
2.) Power On Phone while Holding MENU key Until ALL actions finish from Powering on phone At the bottom left corner of the display in transparent text will be the words "Safe Mode"
3.) Power off phone again battery out wait two minutes
4.) do a normal power on
My HTC Incredible shuts down and reboot different times. This happens at all different levels of battery life.
