loving the phone my first android. was a toss up between that and the iphone, think i made the right choice.il get to the point my phone is locked to oranage uk but i need it unlocked tried a shop near me that unlocks phones but he says he cant get a code cos the phone is too new! so i tried foneszone and they said the same thing. anyone know of a website that can supply me with a code?

I have tryed many website (mobileincanada, cellunlock) but they still answer me that the didn't receive the codes for ''new'' Desires.I didnt ask a refund from cellunlock because he told me that if he doesnt have it, no one else will have it.so I'd better wait (1-3 buisness days) after 3 buisness days they still don't have it.I've spoken to an other admin from htccode dot com and they can 'give it a try'because they have acess to ''all' databases. I'm not into asking a refund from cellunlock and be stucked again with htccode.Can someone explain me the theory of 'new databases' Vs 'old databases'?How do these buisness work? How can they have to htc databases... why HTC give them access? Hopefully I will find someone here who's in my situation and will try to help out

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Desire with Android 2.1. I sync it with exchange, but it tells me I have to have a "phone unlock code" to sync with exchange. This more or less ruins the phone for me, as I have to type a password EVERY single time the screen locks (or go to standby). Only way I can see around it is forwarding all my exchange mail + syncing all my exchange contacts and my exchange calendar with g-mail, but that is a rather poor solution I think : I have g-mail sync running as well, and that does not require me to have a "unlock password" Does anyone know a way to get around this annoying "you must have an unlock code to sync with exchange" issue?

As was indicated by Verizon, FRG22D made some changes that 'improved security.' In particular the ability for Exchange admins to enforce security settings. Well, I have a hosted Exchange account (personal email) with 1&1. Post manual update to FRG22D, I am now required to have a PIN code to unlock the phone. No unlock code and the pattern are not available. So, every time my phone comes out of 'sleep' mode, I have to enter my PIN. Incredibly annoying...
Ultimately, it's an issue to work out with 1&1 to see if this can be changed. I see no setting in the options presented to me in the OWA settings or in 1&1's XAdmin panel. If anyone happens to know if this is easily changed... please let me know. Sorry for the partial rant, but I am incredibly annoyed.

(I know I can downgrade to 4.1.1 and unlock it via the hidden call menu but at this time I am not opting to do that). I flashed the 4.1.2 Root Injected Stock Rom. My question is, (which maybe I should have asked before hand) Will I be able to use the sim unlock code that T-Mobile provides me with despite being on the root injected 4.1.2 stock rom?

But just to point it out again the moment can be turned off or put on airplane mode even while its locked. This may be a bad thing if someone steals your phone and you want to use someones phone to either call or text it so that it will ring to find out who has it. All the thief has to do is put it on airplane mode or turn it off to deactivate ringers, sound, and gps.

I have an xperia X8 with some naa kernel and xperiadroidx 6.1.The thing is that with this custom kernel and ROM when i put a SIM from another network carrier, the question asking for the SIM-unlock code input is not showing up. (this appeared before when phone was in stock state).Is it possible to do it without re-flashing to stock?
...or i have to put back the phone to stock? What is the easiest/safest/best way to do this? using the restore option in "PC companion" SE app? Is it only needed to put the stock kernel and ROM, or Do i also need to re-lock the bootloader?
