Apr 30, 2010I took a WVGA quality video and uploaded it to youtube. The video looks great on the phone but looks crappy on youtube. What am I doing wrong?

View 4 RepliesI've noticed that all of the official literature regarding the Incredible describes the screen as WVGA OLED -not AMOLED. Can a screen be OLED without AM (active matrix) technology - and if so, what will the difference be between the Incredible's screen and the N1's AMOLED display?
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe Evo's video sound quality is amazingly terrible - which begs the question...can it be improved or are we stuck with unusable "hi-def" video? I'm looking for why it's so bad. Codec/bitrate/compression issues or what?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have went through every option I can possibly think of and the quality looks bad. There is no difference upon selecting 720P than any other option. I have seen others test videos and mine is nowhere close.
Update: It seems it was a fluke. All is well with my Evo once again. You may tune back in to your regularly scheduled program.
I didn't see this asked anywhere and if it has been i am sorry; i have noticed that the video quality on my Evo has gone down after the Froyo update. Is it just me? Am i imagining it?I record a 60 sec video and it skips and freezes and the sound doesn't sync up.Any thoughts?
View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone noticed how the video quality such as on you tube is really bad compared to the I-phone even though the Desire's supposed to have more higher resolution? My bro's got the I-phone and I tested the desire with his phone. Went into certain you tube videos, using same wi-fi connection in same room etc etc and also tried using 3G (both on t-mob) and still his video quality on I-phone was miles better and clearer!
View 34 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that when I'm on my mobile network connection (Orange) the quality of the videos in the youtube app are extremely low. However, when i'm connected to a Wi-Fi connection the video quality is very high.Does anybody know how to change the youtube app settings so that I can keep a high video quality no matter what the connection type?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to digest every possible piece of information I can on the Evo, and have been very anxious to get one on June 4th. But something I'm finding very little info or comments on is how terrible the audio quality is on video recordings. It's surprisingly very bad. The video quality is looking good, but that makes the bad audio just that much worse. I've noticed this on every sample video I've checked out on You Tube. It seems that it is slightly better on the Incredible, but still pretty sub-par. If you watch video recorded from the Motorola Droid or iPhone, you can hear what a difference it is. Is this just a HTC thing, or is it something that can be adjusted?
View 10 Replies View RelatedThe audio being recorded is horrible. Will there ever be a fix for that because I'm considering taking my EVO back.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFrankly, I'm fine with the video quality. It could be a lot better but I don't use my phone for anything serious. The audio quality is horrid. I pulled a video into MediaCoder to find out why. That is 12.8kbps at 8,000hz sampling rate. To put this in perspective; A low quality MP3 is 64kbps at 44.1khz (44,100hz). That is 5 times the bit rate and more than 5 times the sampling rate.
A decent quality MP3 is at the very least 128kbps. The audio that the Evo camcorder app is 1/5th the quality of a crappy MP3. This is a rather simple software fix. I'm not a programmer but I know how audio and video codecs work and I see no reason for this limitation. The phone can record excellent quality audio. Just download a recording app and try it. HTC or a third party developer needs to get on this. The reason the video is a bit jerky is that it is recorded at 10.01 FPS...
I remarked to my wife that the video shot with my new EVO looked like home movies from when we were kids. I then saw that the EVO shoots at 24 fps which explains the home movie video look. Will/can the Froyo update improve the video and or camera quality? It's not a deal breaker but when you have kids it's nice to have a video camera with you at all times. I've got 3 more weeks left on my 30 day trial period. I know the i Phone 4 will shoot at 30 fps and the test images I've seen are considerably better than my EVO.
View 35 Replies View RelatedVery pleased so far. Still need to learn Android. I was wondering is the youtube video quality poor on the EVO or Android in general? I'm so used to my old 3GS that was jail broken, the quality was excellent.
But now they all look so choppy on the EVO.
I know the screen can show some really great images and videos. I want to know what format the videos should be in to get the best quality. I moved a few hours of family guy from itunes to the phone, its in mp4 atm I am sure. And I just had a standard did to video converter off the internet.

What's the best way to get the best quality movies on the Captivate? The T-Mobile Vibrant came with Avatar. If I wanted to do the same, what would be the easiest and best quality wise way to do this? I am not talking about streaming movies from the internet, but the best way to either buy and download or convert videos from DVD or Blu Ray to video files to copy to the player. Please share your finds. Maybe there is an app where you can buy and download (while on wifi or whatever).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI converted a movie avi file to mp4 using the free "any video converter". As the converter's website recommends, I set the frame to 1280x720. But when watching the movie, they're is some chopiness and the quality is not as good like when watching a you tube clip in hd. Is there anything I can do to increase the video quality?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy T-Mobile Desire received the 2.2 update a couple of weeks ago and on Saturday I thought I'd try some 720p recording.Unfortunately the result is really disappointing; stuttering/jerky recording, poor image quality, poor sound quality etc.Can you take a quick look and tell me if I've done something wrong (wrong setting perhaps?) or if this is as good as it gets on the Desire?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm going on a trip soon and wanted to put some movies on my phone. I found some DVD ripping software, ripped The Dark Knight as MPEG4, and was thrilled when I saw the picture- it looked fantastic. Then I put my headphones in. Where's my sound?
Before this, I had the movie The Book of Eli on my computer, MPEG4. I put that on my phone- sound, but not video. Converted to H.263, got both, but video was terrible quality. Near unwatchable. Should I try converting to a different format? I mean, there has to be some way to get good quality video.
From our android app I launch Youtube app with the proper video id. This works well across all devices. On Nexus One the youtube app defaults to using low quality video. I have added &fmt=18 in the url (for eg: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsjadfLYnD4&feature=youtube_gdata&fmt=18 , see this blog for details http://blog.jimmyr.com/High_Quality_on_Youtube_11_2008.php) which should have forced a high quality video but doesn't.Anyone know a work around for this ? The screen resolution on nexus is really beautiful it saddens me that I can't make use of this to play hq videos.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI wasn't having much luck with the video recording, but saw a thread on how to improve the quality with a few modifications. Thread here: http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/39706-higher-quality-video-recording.html. It suggested that I change the bps from 300,000 to 800,000. I couldn't really figure out how to do it, so I never did. I eventually installed the Sholes ROM from the Market and noticed an instant improvement in video quality. I checked my Astro file, (in the system/build file as in the link posted above), and noticed that it is now set to 900,000 bps, rather than 300,000 obviously this was changed automatically by the Sholes ROM. Just another confirmation that the Sholes was a great decision, for me at least. Here's a couple of videos to show the difference. This is a breakfast/storage room and my dog, Riley, who never knows exactly how to behave in front of the camera.
