Anyone else having stalled Market problems? Orange Desire 2.1. Android market download blocked at "Starting Download" for any application/game.
Bought some days ago my Tattoo with Android, it works perfectly, Music, email, Facebook, weather etc... but not Android Market, which stucks at Startind Download for any application / game... How to solve this ? Another question, since i do not have a wifi connection at home, is there any noobproof guide on how to install applications via PC and USB Cable ?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have done just about everything I need on my phone except tethering. Since I only had Edge available, I had never bothered to look into tethering, but now that 3g is on the horizon for me (June rollout), I am looking to tether.
Now, I recall reading that tethering apps in the market are now blocked. If that is true, where would I go to find the tethering apps, which is the best out there, and how would I go about loading it onto my phone.
I did give PDA net a shot, but the auto installer will not load it onto my phone...
My company is looking at upgrading from WinMo Intrepids to possibly Android phones. We are with Sprint so only those phones are being looked at.Couple of questions from an enterprise mind.Android 2.2 updated exchange policy support so some of our concerns are being met.My biggest questions are relating to Sprint ID and the Android Market. One does anyone know if you can totally locked down Sprint ID? As in not allow other ones from being downloaded and installed. Basically to give us a way to lock the phone down with what apps we want.Next big thing is can the Android Market be locked down/Blocked/Removed?Remember these are going to be company phones mainly being used for exchange email, not personal phones to play around with eating up data.Generally just looking at ways to keep the phones secure from all the nasties out there. We are looking at the Optimus S which is why I bring up Sprint ID.For my side of it, I would generally be against this. I own an Evo and love tinkering plus I will be the one developing in house apps for us to use.

Sometimes it says unable to download or something similar. I've updated to 2.2 on T-Mobile and dont remember ever having this problem before. It's really frustrating.
I currently cannot download anything, either via wi-fi or Mobile network.

I cannot download apps to my DHD
Up Until two days ago the market app worked fine then for no apparent reason now only goes as far as starting download and goes no further. I have enen tried a factory reset losing everything but it still wont download anything. This is the same over wifi or 3g. Any one got any ideas? Does yours still work?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have had one of those "Starting download" errors in the market for almost 3 months now (!) and I'm starting to get tired of it.
I'm using a Desire with android 2.2. My problem is this: I can download from satellite network, but not via Wifi at home. However, it seems to be a 1% chance (or close to that) of successful download using the Wifi.
I have logged in and out of Talk several times, did a couple of factory resets, formatted the SD card, cleared cache from HTC checkin service, market, google talk and downloader (if thats what its called in english). I tried to set the network as only WCDMA, only GSM and both auto, still no results. Everything else seems to work using the Wifi at home, except market. I called HTC for some help, and the only thing I got to know was that it wasn't my mobile operator, or other settings on my phone that caused this problem, and they also thougt it might be the network at home, which I too thought before talking to them. So I did a little research about that, and tried to open port 5228, even though that seemed weird, as it sometimes worked downloading. I also read about the change from googlemail.com to gmail.com, but I never had a "googlemail.com" address, so I hope this isnt the problem. Now HTC wants me to tell them if I can fix this, and how I did, so they probably have no clue either:S
I have also tried other things, which I don't remember right now, but if anyone can list up something to try, I'll see if I have done it or not.
I want to be able to download and install my app from my website, but when i do this at the moment i get the error:-
Download unsuccessful - Cannot Download. The content is not supported on the phone.
After looking into this it became apparent that the PHP Magic, that handles the downloads from the website, recognises the file as a .zip file rather then a .apk file and sends the it a .zip, that the phone does not recognise.
Does anyone know a way to get PHP Magic to recognise the file as an apk so that file extension does not get changed and the phone can recognise it?
how can i transfer my contacts from my old sim (talkmobile). This sim seems blocked on t-moble HTC desire phone as i tried to insert into HTC desire and there is no network and menu to access the phone (say contact customer service), phone gets locked. 2nd way was via bluetooth transfer to PC. My current phone is nokia 6288, i transfered contacts to PC but I cant locate them (can access only via bluetooth menu in case i want to restore them to the same phone only)

I tried to install another app off the market, just to see, and out wouldn't install either....
Tried-
Clearing market updater
Rebooting phone
Removing battery and re starting phone
going to titanium backup and wiping market data

View 1 Replies View RelatedI know Google is quite diligent when it comes to Data Warehousing. Beyond the simple 'Active Installs' and 'Total installs' I am sure they have a whole treasure chest of useful information like active versions, Android Release version, hardware, and uninstall reasons (based on the prompt users see while uninstalling) It sure would be nice if we could see (even a portion of) this somehow. Example - Out of 524 ppl to install version 0.5.4 80% uninstalled saying "Does not function", while only 12% of those on version 0.5.5 uninstalled. Wow Sure points to a bug in that version(0.5.4), how useful or at least it would be if we could see this stuff.
