i just got my aria and i still don't know how i can do anything with it except make and receive calls. i know it's a real waste of an expensive piece of equipment. i copy files via usb to my phone and it shows in my computer that the files are in the phone. however, i can't locate the files in the phone itself, no matter.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy searches all bring back ways to transfer files using my Windows Explorer on my PC Interface via USB and on Android "Es file explorer" using wifi.
I use ES file Explorer to view shared folders on my PC via wifi. I want to do the same thing only faster through USB. Similar to how you connect the android to your pc and it shows the internal sd and external sd in windows explorer.
For example... I want to browse my vast collection of "Justin Bieber's Monkey confiscated by German customs for excessive spanking" pics on my pc to find one that looks good as my android wallpaper. I dont want to use wifi and cant load the 74GB of pics from my pc on my 8 GB SD card on my Android to go through them.
So, as of today I have a Motorola Droid coming up for my old Nokia phone. I had BestBuy set me up with the Droid, but when they tried to copy over my contacts to the Droid, they said it failed 3 times and just wouldn't go. They said they COULD get the contacts off of my old phone, but it didn't seem to go over to the new phone for some reason.
Well, I called a number that I knew was in the contacts of my old phone just to test the phone to make sure the phone itself was working when I got home, and when I hung up the call I noticed that it actually showed the name of the person (not their actual name, but the nick-name that I gave them in my old phone) and also showed me the alternate phone number to contacts them with (their cell number). Sooo... it looks like SOMETHING was transfered to my phone, but when I go into "contacts" there is nothing listed. Even when I view the call log, it doesn't show their name anymore, only when I first hung up the call did it show me their name.
Is there a secondary contact list somewhere that they could possibly have been copied over to, and not the main contacts section? I'd really love to get all these phone numbers in there with out having to do it manually.
Kind of like filez for the palm OS? ive downloaded a few things I want to delete but I am unsure how to do so. I see a file manager program, anyone have an opinion on which is best?

I always end up having to press the Keypad button to get the phone keypad to display (checking voicemail or skipping voicemail greetings)Is there anyway to have the keypad be the default screen during phone calls? View 6 Replies View RelatedMy phone is notifying me that it is low on memory, which I assume to mean a portion of the memory that is independent from the SD card, because that has 1.75GB free. I would like to remove some of this data (it's probably because of my 500 pictures), but the only place I can think of to delete the pictures won't let me access them BECAUSE I have low memory. I've searched through the settings application, but can't find anything for manual handling of data.I'm pretty comfortable with technology, but this is ridiculous. Even my old Samsung picture phone had data managing tools. I hope I'm just not looking in the right place.I've got it plugged in to my PC via USB right now, but the folders aren't named very conveniently. I have no idea what is phone memory?
So I think by mounting the phone via USB, I am ONLY accessing the phone memory. In that case, I need to access the SD card, so I can move some of this stuff over. I'm very confused though, because when I open the drive in My Computer it shows it as being a nearly empty 1.84 GB drive, which the phone memory should not (as far as I know) have, especially if it's full. This leads me to believe that it is in fact the SD card, but AGH.
What is the best email program to use on the Aria?

What would be the best for yahoo & hotmail? I'd like to have it push the emails instantly, but I'm okay with it being like a 5-10 minute delay. I noticed that when I set my yahoo address up on their given email program, it doesn't always show the HTML pictures in the message so I don't always get the email the way I'd like it to. Some come up, others don't, its weird.
So I was just wondering what the best email program would be to use to get what I want?
I just recently purchased my Aria not to long ago and so far I like it...it seems to be a pretty decent phone thus far, I want to unlock my phone so that I can enjoy all the benefit of having a rooted device. I just don't know how...Ive done some research on the matter but just keep getting the run around ;-( Does anybody have a any clear and simple answers on how I can go about doing this to my phone?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAll I can say is damn, My phone fell out of my pocket today and the screen shattered. Luckily I bought it at bestbuy and bought the warranty on it. So I took it in and gave it to them. They gave me some shitty replacement phone and mailed mine off. I have to wait 3 weeks to get my phone back! I haven't had my but only 1 week and 3 days. I love my Aria but damn is it fragile. I do have one one question, I have always wanted a Nexus One is that phone better than the aria and is there any way to put HTC sense on it? If so to both then I will probably buy one unlocked.

I thought Google Earth worked on any Android phone with 2.1? Am I mistaken? Well, I am very close now to getting a new "comparable" phone from AT&T to replace my Moto Droid. The new phone that they will most likely be sending me is the HTC Aria. Anybody have any thoughts about this phone? Is it a good phone? Is it comparable to the Moto Droid? To be honest, I plan on switching back to Verizon after all this mess anyway. I am just curious (in the rare event that I might be stuck with the phone) as to whether or not this is a good replacement (even though nothing can replace my droid .... I love it so much).

Reason I ask is that I never entered area codes for many the contacts on my old phone, which are all on my SIM card, because I could enter my area code into memory.I just got my Aria, and when I get a call from a contact within my area code, their contact name, which is saved on the SIM card, does not come up.
