Jul 27, 2011I had recently switched over from HTC's stock browser to Opera Mobile browser and I'm loving it. It's much smoother and just feels better but something that was really well done in the stock browser is Google's site; really easy to use and looks and feels great. However, in Opera Mobile, it's a really bad, watered-down version that just looks ugly. Is there a way to get the good Google site to work on Opera Mobile?

Aug 6, 2010I can't get a fully functioning data connection on my Galaxy S through my current SIM card. I can browse with Opera (which doesn't seem to care what the APN settings are) but nothing else works, (unless I get a wifi connection, which works fine). The problem may or may not disappear when I move countries soon (to Indonesia) but I'd like to understand what's going on.
I bought it in Singapore - it's got a SingTel setup (sticker on the back, boot screen, links on home) but it's supposed to be unlocked (and SingTel say they sell them unlocked too). A guy at the Samsung service center in Singapore said it was "locked" for other countries though because they don't yet have the Galaxy S - but once phone companies have the right settings for the phone it should be fine. I used it with a different Singapore phone company (StarHub) with a data plan for a couple of days that worked fine. I browsed and used the Google Maps app, no problem.
Then the problem. I came to Malaysia a week ago and bought a Maxis SIM card. At their service center they entered the APN settings (they already sell the Galaxy S), and the internet worked when I tested it on a few pages. 30 min later I tried again and got nothing, and it didn't come back. I returned to the service center, they made small changes to the settings, and it worked again... for a few minutes only. Then I discovered that I can browse in Opera - even if I use dummy APN settings (random numbers in one field and everything else blank or default).
However after I restarted the phone again, I couldn't repeat the success. I stopped unneeded apps, I uninstalled NimBuzz, I tried restarting over and over... but I get no connection other than with Opera. I've tried other internet apps (Maps, sync in GTasks, OkCupid, NimBuzz) and none work. Any clues as to what's going on?

Feb 22, 2013I have bought a new Tablet, karbonn ST 8 with Android jelly bean as OS. As I am opening YouTube. com in my browser, the video component is not playing, I can only hear the sound. I have used both the Stock Android browser and preinstalled Google Chrome.
Under setting > application, I can see Flash player 11.1 installed, but still, the problem exists. resolve this issue.

None could stream (flash) videos. They either weren't able to do it at all, or did it with lots of stuttering. What is the best way to play flash videos in web pages?

I have the following issue: For example I have A.html, and B.html. The content of B.html is larger than A.html, so the page is longer. When WebView load B.html, the ScrollView stretches its size to enable itself scroll for B.html, then if I go back to A.html, ScrollView doesn't resize itself. (The scroll area is exceed the content of A.html) What I want to have, is dynamic change the scroll area of scroll view to fit the webview's content.

I think I've screwed up my phone. I performed a format with SP Flash tools and flashed a new rom. Stupidly I didn't take a backup of my IMEI number or a proper backup of my rom! . Luckily I found a CWM backup of my MP0B_001 file in my NVRAM folder and have managed to get my IMEI number back!
I have a problem though, I cannot get a mobile network signal but I CAN detect the sim card. It detects the network name and my mobile number but not a signal. Please see the attached image.

Apr 6, 2014I recently bought a Pearl Touchlet X10 quad core (PX-8880-675) tablet, but it was full of mods and when i plugged in the charger i received the "plugged in, not charging" message. So i started to clean up the ROM. Finally it showed charging, but now i really messed it up, beacuse now it is not booting. The tablet was not factory software, another tablet software on it that has a volume rocker. To start the flash mode i need the volume up button, but this version of tablet does not have this button. I tried the home button version, but it is not working because of the different firmware.
Here's the thing:The tablet always starts recovery mode, no screen, but adb working. When i type "ls /dev/block" in ADB shell it shows loop0-loop7 and nandf, so it is not seeing the nand I have seen other forums that when I type "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/nanda" it will erase the nand, and the tablet is force booting into fel mode (flash mode), but it not erasing beacuse the recovery is not for this tablet and it not seeing the nand.

Feb 19, 2014I have this flash presentation of interior spaces on the site (url below) which I can see on my laptop/desktop but just unable to view on any browser on my Android 4.2.1.
For a complete story, I use Micromax Canvas 4 (India Product) running on Android 4.2.1. I have downloaded Flash Player 11.1.115.69 and installed on my phone. I have Dolphin browser ver 10.2.5 with the setup of "Flash Player" - "Always on" in the settings. I also have Firefox with settings - Plugins Enabled.
However, I am just unable to view the above content over the phone and am just frustrated with this right now. I have a customer presentation coming up for this and I do not know how to show the content over the smartphone.

When I try to install it, all goes well until I reach 10% of the installation, where everything just freezes and then boots me back to TWRP. When I reboot, I'm still on my ICS firmware, like nothing has happened. ?

Sep 29, 2012This is the first (and only) time that I have try to root my phone (with the AAHK). After alot of reading I managed to ROOT my Desire HD and it says S-OFF.
The problem is that I am not able to install a costum ROM. I have tried the following roms:

2. TrickDroid_v2.0.0_C2
And I allways get the same error. It says status 0. I found in some other threads on XDA-devoloppers that the problem is: "Wrong update-binary".

Aug 30, 2012i tried the Indonesian I8160DXLH2 firmware, i agree that its fast and stable and better RAM management, the only problem I face is the modem.bin.md5 from the Indonesian ROM wont flash on my phone or my phone responded "CUSTOM Modem Binary!" , so what I've done is I extracted the modem.bin.md5 from my i8160ZLSG1(hong kong variant) and rebuild a single package .tar.md5 flashable ROM, Odin flashed the ROM perfectly, but as soon as I enter the on screen set up, my SIM card is not detected and I have no access to GSM/3G networks, bluetooth and wifi works fine, all the software part works fine, stable and fast, also, the IMEI code will not show up, unless I revert back to the Hong Kong region specific ROM. I really like the Indonesian ROM because the Hong Kong firmware had severe scrolling problems in menus and apps.
PS: my phone is rooted, my sales code(CSC) is THL.

Jan 26, 2013i am not able enter flash mode in my X10i device i wanted to flash kernel.
I followed all the procedure:
1) by holding back button & plugged in USB cable.
2) my phone got recognized in the flash tool. Got a message stating "Device connected in flash mode"
3) then my device did not stay much longer in flash mode (less then 10 sec). After that it automatically booted to phone charging screen.

General :: Unable To Flash CyanogenMod After Flashing Stock Android 4.4 On Nexus 4
Nov 20, 2013Last week, I flashed my LG Nexus 4 (16GB) phone with stock Android 4.4 (Official Image), before that I was on CyanogenMod 10.1.3 Stable.
Now, for some reason I didn't like the stock 4.4 and tried to Flash back my CyanogenMod 10.1.3 from CWM "Install ZIP" but the problem I'm facing is that it CyanogenMod doesn't boot, hangs on "Spiral Splash Screen". Then I tried Flashing CM 10.0 stable, still loops into boot forever and at times boots (after 15-20 minutes of booting on spiral splash screen) and doesn't recognise SIM card, Camera, Storage, WIFI or anything.
Then after getting fed up with this I tried flashing MIUI V5. This also takes a 15-20 to boot and fails to recognise - SIM, WiFi, Camera etc.
So lastly like a loser I flashed back my Android 4.4 it works fine.
I've my boot-loader in unlocked state.
and Yes before flashing CM or MIUI, I did - wipe data/factory, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache from CWM Recovery.
So I want to get back into CyanogenMod 10.1 stable.

May 5, 2010A problem with the tmobile content lock. i have had the content lock taken off, and it seemed to be fine, however i turned my phone off and it came back....this happens until i connect my phone to wifi and then if i connect with 3g its fine until i turn my phone off then it will be back on, this is recurring. May 15, 2010I am a bit of a novice but have managed to work a lot of things out about my HTC desire through this website but I am struggling with playing online TV and videos as well as downloading films onto my phone. Firstly I am a fan of channel 4 on demand and I tried to watch something a box comes up which says- 'shockwave flash- there is not enough free memory to display this flash content' -
Does this simply mean that I need a bigger micro SD card as I have only got the 4GB one enclosed with the phone, if it is as simple as that then could get an 8 or 16 GB microcard? Next problem is watching online films (for example from blinkbox.com), I can watch these on my laptop but my phone wont play them- do I have to install a special player to get these to work?
And finally I am right in thinking there is not an app like the iphone in which you can click and buy movies on the HTC desire? If not how do I download movies onto my phone or maybe download them on my laptop and transfer them to my phone?
