View 2 Replies View RelatedHad my captivate for a month now(not rooted). I am really enjoying it as my first smart phone and the customization (Zeam launcher, Handcent SMS, etc) is really great. One thing that bugs me though are the soft keys. The way it is set up mainly. Why is the home key between the back and the menu button? and why do i need a search button. I understand the droid is google based, but really? why does it need a button dedicated to it. rooted phone can you change the function of the softkeys so i could have the search key do something different when pressed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a galaxy nexus and I am wondering if there is a way to permanently hide the Softkeys whilst retaining the status bar (yes I know about expanded desktop). I use LMT's PIE feature to navigate and I find it much more useful. I personally like PIE better so I have more screen space.

View 3 Replies View RelatedReceived my Ulefone U7 yesterday and so far impressed. Intention is to use in my car to replace the OEM satnav. To do this, I need to enable the softkeys/navigation bar as the physical buttons will be behind the dash.
I've rooted OK and have so far tried what I thought would work..
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 in build.prop
Xposed and as many modules as I can find!
Play store apps like softkeys enabler
So far, no soft keys
To enable softkeys on my Samsung Note 10.1 2014 I had to install a custom ROM. Do I need a custom ROM?
Thee Ulefone U7 is the same as other MTK6592 phones I believe, can I use one of those ROMs?
I'm using the Note2 with the TW-based Digiblur rom and am having trouble when playing HTML5 player videos in the stock web browser. Any time a video plays, instead of timing out like they are supposed to, the navigation softkeys on the device stay lit while the video is playing. If I pause or stop the video, everything goes back to normal and the keys time out like they are supposed to. The problem is not present in any video player application, including the stock YouTube client.

Question is, is there already some kind of IDE apk for our phones ?
Is there any way to turn down the brightness on the soft keys. Mine are annoyingly bright. Especially the menu key. The backlight on the menu key is really bright in the middle and fades out on the ends. I wish the used the symbol instead of spelling it out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHTC Sensation 4g which I love--but for just 1 gig of internal software, some of which is obliterated by bloatware...I keep clearing the overall cache and uninstalling apps, and every time I look up---space is disappearing again. No matter how much I seem to clear, it gets used by something.
At this point there isn't a whole l_ot left I can clear. I've moved everything I can to the card. The apps left on the phone that I control (the HTC bloat ware can't be uninstalled) are coming down to ones I want to keep.My theory is that it is three things largely eating up space: Facebook, G+ and/or gmail's contacts.
Now, all 3 apps I like and use, but in any event I must have Gmail and contact; it is highly desirable to have FB, and I really can't uninstall FB or G+ anyway with the HTC sense configuration. When I clear the cache of G+ and FB, I usually recover quite a bit of space--and then it's gone again once I use it.
So, is there anyway to limit how much data Fb/COntacts/ G+ download to my phone?
what is the way to determine what ROM / firmware is running on my Android phone? And what is the best way to determine what upgrades are available for it?
I have a Samsung SIII that is parallel imported. Looking at the About Device info, it shows:
Model number = GT-I9300
Android version = 4.1.1
Baseband version = I9300XXLH1
Kernel Version =

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Samsung Galaxy ACE which is rooted. Till y'day I was using CM9 Beta 8 ICS 4.0.4 and it was working well.
I installed CM10 JB for Galaxy Ace alpha1 from "hxxp://maclaw.pl/?page_id=180#comment-3642"
Now the problem is, JB doesn't have File Manager installed and I need to install TB to revert my backups.
Due to some unknown reason I am not able to access internet on my device either through GPRS or 3G connection.
I am desperately looking for a way to access my SDCARD wherein I have all my apk's which I can install however, without File Manager I am not sure how to install an apk.
I did some google search and came across topics about installing apk using Android SDK etc.. however I would not want to work on SDK as I feel its bit tedious job for me.
I also tried Android Injector however that didnt work even if I have enabled USB debugging Mode for adb + apps.
Now, I am hoping that, I can use the Terminal Emulator which is preinstalledo n my phone to install apk present on my sdcard.
However, I am not sure how to do that, what are the steps to install apk present on my sdcard from Terminal Emulator available on my phone.
Here are some of the screen captures [URL] ......

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone storage on my HTC Desire seems to be permanently full up, I know there's things like the Internet cache and contacts that are growing all the time but I should still have enough room for other stuff. I've installed and moved all apps to my sd card, I only have 35 or so and there all fairly small little apps but I use them all.
Yet I am always getting the phone is running low on memory message, so I cant install anything from the app store. Thing is I still have 11.55 mb of phone memory but I feel I should have loads more, there's only really a few things taking up memory from what I can see in my apps because everything else is on my sd card.
Contacts Storage: 17.34mb
Flash Player 10.1 : 12.39mb
Maps ; 7.75mb
Swype: 5.96mb
Facebook: 3.80mb
Voice Search: 2.57mb
HTC Sense : 2.30mb
Internet : 2.39mb
Everything else is all really under 1mb. Is there some other files or something lurking on my phone memory that shouldn't be there?
Has anyone noticed that their incredible gets bogged down and runs super slow from time to time? Something as slow as opening hand cent and writing a response message can take for ever, I type the word and 5 seconds later it will show up. I do not get why but it is really frustrating.
View 24 Replies View RelatedMy phone isn't jacked (yet) like most people have theirs. I do have the Motorola Droid. The only thing i've done to it was Trident's version of forcing the 1st and 2nd updates through the phone itself. So i do have the FRG22D build #. I've also changed the call quality setting. So there really isn't anything that would be taxing the OS of this phone.
