HTC Droid Eris :: Softkeys - Adjust Sensibility Of Them?
Dec 10, 2009I'm not liking that you have to really press on the soft keys to work. Is there any way to adjust the sensibility of them?

View 2 RepliesAnyway I can reduce the length for the vibrate of the 4 softkeys (home, menu, back, search) I am rooted and I would love to have it reduced to 15 ms.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI did a search and didn't find this specific problem mentioned so here it goes.
The Eris in question (isn't mine but I'm trying to help the owner out), has of course, horrible battery issues. So, first thing I wanted to do was see if there was a built-in power-manager app like on the Motorola Droid. There wasn't so I downloaded one of the many brightness toggle widgets.
The first widget, when clicked brought up a small menu to select brightness. While that menu was up the brightness would change as it should have but would immediately change back to what it was when that menu closed.
After that I looked in options, disabled auto-brightness, and installed a new widget. This one is a simple press to change brightness in increments. When I push the button the brightness changes momentarily and then resets to whatever the slider in the Settings is at. I've tried moving that slider and that setting is what it always defaults to.
Right now the only way to adjust the brightness is in the settings menu and nothing else will work even though auto-brightness is turned off. Is there any way around this? I'd really like to be able to get it so it can be easily adjusted without having to go through so many steps.
EDIT: Playing around with it further, I tapped the widget to go to 100% brightness and of course the screen dimmed back down to 0%. I then went to the settings menu and as soon as I entered the "Sound and Display" menu, the brightness jumped up to what I had set it at with the widget. After that I can hit the Home key or otherwise leave the menu and the brightness will be properly set... until the screen times out. If the screen times out and I wake it up, it's back to 0% brightness.
I have to say I hate not being educated enough on the eris and then asking silly questions but. with that said a few more questions 1. had to replace my eris after 2 weeks some kind of screen issue no big thing but since I got the new one my Handsent has a very long lag time from the time i hit the widget to the time I am able to text sometimes up to 25-35 seconds So whats the fix? 2. I can't seem to fins a good bed time clock, had one but would not be able to adjust dimmer so got kaloer clock, i like this one but it shuts it self off in the midle of the night, I am guessing once the phone fully charges and the light turns green. since I always wake up i catch it. What is the best night clock out there? 3.notifications, two parter a. can I set dif tones to dif notifcations, cause I cant find the option just says set as default notifcation. I want 1 tone for e mail another for text another for missed calls etc b. is there an app or a way to quickly shut notifcations off when going to bed but keeping the phone ringer on. I get e-mails at all hours and the notifcation wakes me up but silent wont work cause I want to get phones calls that is it for now please help and thank you all for being so understanding with my newbie questions.

I use LMT's PIE feature to navigate and I find it much more useful. I personally like PIE better so I have more screen space.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a Droid 2 and I think the phone is amazing... except for one thing. I am amazed that the volume rocker doesn't function logically like any other volume rocker. I have heard brief mention of this being a common problem, but I can't seem to find any other threads on the issue. Here's what I want my volume rocker to do: (just like any other phone,) I want it to adjust volume level, then go to Vibrate (everything!) and then go to Silence (everything!) Right now, when it goes to silent, some things still vibrate, and when it's on vibrate, some things still ring--and it is driving me crazy! On a related note, it would also be awesome if I could set it up to silence all notifications beside phone calls, text messages, and the alarm, when I want it to, like when I'm sleeping. If somebody could humor me and tell me exactly what I need to do to get my D2 to function in these respects like a regular phone, but while not impeding its other awesome functions, that would be great.

This may not be enough vibration for me to notice at times while its in my pocket. Is there away to adjust the frequency of vibrations?

View 3 Replies View RelatedReceived my Ulefone U7 yesterday and so far impressed. Intention is to use in my car to replace the OEM satnav. To do this, I need to enable the softkeys/navigation bar as the physical buttons will be behind the dash.
I've rooted OK and have so far tried what I thought would work..
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 in build.prop
Xposed and as many modules as I can find!
Play store apps like softkeys enabler
So far, no soft keys
To enable softkeys on my Samsung Note 10.1 2014 I had to install a custom ROM. Do I need a custom ROM?
Thee Ulefone U7 is the same as other MTK6592 phones I believe, can I use one of those ROMs?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHad my captivate for a month now(not rooted). I am really enjoying it as my first smart phone and the customization (Zeam launcher, Handcent SMS, etc) is really great. One thing that bugs me though are the soft keys. The way it is set up mainly. Why is the home key between the back and the menu button? and why do i need a search button. I understand the droid is google based, but really? why does it need a button dedicated to it. rooted phone can you change the function of the softkeys so i could have the search key do something different when pressed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using the Note2 with the TW-based Digiblur rom and am having trouble when playing HTML5 player videos in the stock web browser. Any time a video plays, instead of timing out like they are supposed to, the navigation softkeys on the device stay lit while the video is playing. If I pause or stop the video, everything goes back to normal and the keys time out like they are supposed to. The problem is not present in any video player application, including the stock YouTube client.
