I have a rooted phone. Is there a way to remove Google Play but keep other Google apps?
I am looking for a way to do this manually (through adb/shell). Is it a file in /system/app?

I dont want to share my location information via google, but ı want to share my location information via forsqaure. But google lay down "if you want to use forsquare, you must run google play services and you must share your information to us". And I dont want to pay money for google's ads; any android program has google's ads and it consumt cpu, ram and gsm internet connection. As so, for any android software before run, firstly try to show ads, after software running.. How can I get rid of from google cartel? If I make root and ı use different mod os(cyanogenmod etc), can ı stop these google's spy softwares? Any suitable mod os?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted Samsung s6102 and I unistalled the google play store using linktosd thinking I can reinstall it on memory Card, but then I downloaded it and tried to install it. it installed but on opening it errors "force Close" I have tried many versions of it and it still doesnt work comes up with error "Force Clsose" I think it has to be installed in system. I don't know how to do this. In the meantime I have reset factory settings but still no sign of google play. I'm afraid link2sd must have deleted the relevant files. I also wiped cash memory but.........

i recently discover that i couldn't install google play services on my phone.when i try to install them it loads up to the end and when it says "Installing..." the following message appears:
"Incompatible with other application(s) using the same shared user ID"
How to use watch movies using Google play on rooted android phones.
1) Download app called ota rootkeeper from the android marketplace.
2) Open app and protect root.
3) Click "temp unroot".
4) When done watching movie go to ota rootkeeper and restore root.
Every time you want to use Google play you must do this.
I am new to android and i just bought the Huawei Honor II U9508 2gb ram with android 4.1.2 and with huawei's Emotion UI 1.5.
The problem is that Google play store didnt come with the phone and i have tried installing it with 4share but everytime i get an error that says u "Unfortunately, Google Play has Stopped" I have tried many things like deleting chache and deleting email. Do i have to Root to get it to work?
Another thing is that i really like to have my phone rooted.. as i said has android 4.1.2 and huawei's Emotion UI 1.5 (2gb ram).
Also i really like to get rid of the Chinese in for example browser (have it set on english but still alot of Chinese) and Youtube didnt work in browser at all. In the commericals i see Voice Assistant in english but i have it in Chinese (any way to change it).
I need to delete Google Play Service completely from my phone or totally disable it! Even when I disable it, using phone "disable feature" Google play service and all it's apps are still eating my battery 45% (Running). The only way to kill it it's root my phone? I can't find way to contact Google or Android there is no email on the internet! Many people want to delete Google Play Services I've seen a lot of threads but found no solution! I don't need Google Play Services at all.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI own HTC Desire (Bravo). I rooted my phone year ago or so, tried different ROMs etc. I dont remember when exactly, but my Google play store is loading pages really slow. I am not in US, I doubt its carrier based issue..
Currently I'm using CM..I think its 8 or 9, not sure of the version because recently my ROM manager app stopped working. (Will try to reinstall it when I get calm enough to open Google Play Store again )
On the startup it says CM 7 (mod) but I think it does so for all versions. I flashed CM using clockwork mod.
To solve issue I've tried clearing cash/data but it didn't work . Btw I use wi-fi mostly, but issue is the same whether I use mine or some other wi-fi.

I currently have an iPhone 4S and I am probably going to get a Galaxy Note 2 when it comes out for Verizon. In order to prepare for this, I set up Google Play Music to upload my music so it can be ready for me when I get my new phone (I like it better than Samsung's default music player). Only one problem: protected AAC files (or DRM) can't be transferred to Play Music. I tried converting my music with 2 different DRM converters, but they were free trials, and it only would convert 1:00 of each song and then stop. Is there any free way to convert each protected song completely, along with protected videos? Also, does music on Play Music eat up an Android device's space? I have over 12 GB of music and movies and I don't want to have barely any any space left on a 16 GB device if a 32 or 64 GB ever comes out, minus the SD card.
View 2 Replies View RelatedGetting "no connection" when I try to run Play Store app on my LG Optimus L9, rooted phone. I've tried everything I could find on various forums to fix this. Adjusted date/time, switched from manual date/time and back to auto from internet, deleted "hosts" file from the system/etc folder, emptied cache and wiped data from the app using titanium backup, and some other things I can't even remember now. I found a site where I could download a more current version of the Play Store app in an apk file and install it (AndroidPolice site). Is that likely to fix this "no connection" issue? I currently have android 4.1.2, and my Playstore app is 4.0.25. I've also wiped data and cleared cache and restored Google Play services. I haven't tried uninstalling either Play Services or Play Store because I'm afraid to do that. I did use Autorun Manager to make them not load on reboot, but that didn't change anything, so I set them back to automatically load. I also tried freezing them both and separately one at a time.

I rooted my Virgin Mobile Samsung Intercept and uninstalled all the calendar files but I can't figure out how to reinstall them. I have tried installing the calendar provider, calendar apk, and odex files that I download, but nothing will install. Is there a custom ROM that I can flash that will install google calendar again or another way to get back the calendar function?

I like using Google play music but the application has been changing my album art around and i cant figure out how to change it back.I saved a picture to my external SD card and Google music decided to tag all the Unknown Artists with the picture, but it only seems to show up in Google Music.
I have multiple media players installed and only some of them recognize the art and display it.I have tried editing the tags but its like the images are not there like since the image was in the forlder it pretty much overwrote things.I have cleared the cache and data for google music rebooted my device with no luck.What are my options at this point to get this picture out the tags and off my phone.
I was just surfing the Google Play Store on my laptop, just browsing some apps, when I noticed my phone HTC ADR6425LVW showed up 3 different times when it prompted which device to download the app, too.
I am rooted, I have the HTC Rezound and a couple days ago, the desktop Google Play Store showed 2 different versions of my phone. I didn't really make anything of it because I exchanged my phone for a new one during the 14 day return period. Why this would happen, unless it occurs when I flash new ROMS. But I've flashed at least 6 ROMS over the course of at least 20 different times. Would this cause warranty issues if I try to have a replacement done if something happens to my phone?

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I've been having an issue with Google Play Music where when I play a song, it plays for a second then pauses, so I have to press play to get it going again. This occurs repetitively which means I can't listen to music.
It happens on songs that are being streamed and on songs that are on the device.
Funnily enough, if the song is played through ES file explorer and the little play music popup window comes up, it plays fine.
I've got this issue on both my devices, a tf101 running 4.3 and a nexus 5 with stock 4.4 rooted.
Edit: just remembered, I've also got this issue with MX Player and videos. I can't figure out what's wrong.
Streamed videos played through the gallery video player work fine.
How I can stop update the google play version automatically ??
Because if I donwgrade them to 4.0 he automatically update to 4.3 !!

I've tried a bunch of apps that hide root, or temporarily unroot, and this game somehow can still see it. All I can find online is Glu Mobile is doing this cuz they think a rooted device is capable of hacking their game.....even though it's server sided. Any way to bypass this, or hide my root from this game?

I obtained an Android from a friend and created a second account for the Play Store. Now I want to remove the initial account (first on the list). It has as its ID a non Gmail account and I do not know the password associated with it.
I went into App settings and for Google Play Store clicked on Clear data. That did not remove either account.
What are the step to take to remove the initial account?
