I Have a Galaxy note, and I wanna change the User Interface of my phone. How do I do that? I mean the way everything looks( musics, buttons, settings, everything.) I dont if I am doing the right thing, but I downloaded some PSD files of interfaces I really liked, but I dont know what to do next.

In Android, how can I replace the user interface of an emulator by my own interface? I would like to start my own interface immediately as the emulator gets started and that the user can't use the original interface but the original interface is on the background.

Is there a place where I could find open source examples of User Interfaces for android apps. Like a project containing custom buttons, isons, sound effect, a nice layout with multiple blank activities that serves as a skin for your app. Strangely I didn't find anything like this whereas there are plenty of themes.

It is about using HTC's Touch HD phone as a device in a museum with rich media/video about the art and the artists on it. Besides the videos and animation, I also want to show some content from a web browser. Now my biggestest issue. I do not want that the museum guest who pick up the phone for the tour get to see the standard Android user interface. Is there a way to develop a new user interface that would start up directly once the phone is turned on? It should then automatically start the app with the museum infos. Later I may want to add some GPS functions and even sms and photo taking, etc....
What do you think, how flexible is Android to allow that?

1. White background on "system settings" interface and not the default holo. Cant that be changed to default?
2. Ribbon effect instead of flash-light in holo effect, which tbh is quite annoying, because the ribbon effect is also quite large and in slower animation speed so that,s 1 second of frustation everytime i scroll to the end. (Yea, 1 second isnt much but, add those up and it gets annoying really fast)
How can these be changed back to default without installing a custom rom?
I need that my user interface haves 3 sections
NORTH SECTION: four textviews with info about a user MIDDLE SECTION: a googlemap view with the position of the user SOUTH SECTION: a textview with time of last position, and a button to actualice the position (retrieving it from a database)
is this possible? i can't find any information about that on google or android developers guide...

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs far as I understand, Android and the Galaxy touch screen is not meant to be calibrated; at least, there does not seem to be a user interface for doing so (this is also true of the tilt and compass sensors, and yet various apps include their own calibration methods.)
The trouble is that I frequently --perhaps 40% of the time-- hit the key to the right of the one I meant to type. That is, I get an "M" instead of an "N", a "Z" when I intended to shift into uppercase, and so on. One might argue that I just need to get used to this teensy keyboard, but I might argue that a good user interface should get used to me. Is there anything that can be done?

I bought a Galaxy S4 wit Android 4.2.2 preinstalled. In my Company we are allowed to sync with Active Sync/Exchange our Mails, Contacs and Calendar. But we are only allowed to use it with Windows Mobile and iOS!
The Sync with my Galaxy works perfect but when I check the sync protocoll in my Outlook Web Access Account they will see that I am syncing a Android device.
Is it possible to hide or change the User Agent for Exchange?
My company only allows mobile access to corporate e-mail through WIndows phone. As an Android advocate, i prefer my own mobile device.
My only two choices are to access through my Android Chrome browser or find a way to make my Jelly-bean Android mail app look like it is a Windows phone. ...or a 3rd part mail app that looks like a Windows/windows phone mail client
I prefer the mail client route as it keeps in sync with updates.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay so i have this really old phone (Samsung Captivate) with a really awesoem clock app. But its a system app and i want to install it on one of my other phones (Galaxy Nexus) as a user app.
They both are NOT running stock ROM. In fact the Cappy is on 4.2.1 and the Nexus on 4.2.2.
Not a big differnece, right? So i presume this would be possible.
Before you ask, i did do research on this and found nothing but moving one user app from one phone to another phone as a user app, etc. Nothing with moving a system app from one phone to user app on another. (My phone is dead at the moment)
Each time I send an email from my handset, using 'mail' not goggle mail app. My email address comes up as my user name. Does anyone know how to change this to a preferred user name instead of a mail address?

When you pinched in to zoom on the EVO browser, the web page would auto fit so that I wouldn't have to scroll left or right to read an article. I noticed this is missing on the X browser. I have Fit Web Pages checked on the settings but it won't fit to the page. Anyone know of a solution yet? Is there a way to change the User Agent like you can on the EVO?

In apps like Gmail and Franco's kernel updater, there is a new interface element that brings out a drawer on the left side on Phone DPI that on Tablet DPI is a split screen.
Is this something that has to be programmed into the app, or something that can be edited into older apps? Mainly I would like that interface in the stock Email application.

View 1 Replies View RelatedVery often I find myself needing to reset or get around someone's Windows Password, the easiest way of course is with one of many available linux boot cd's that'll edit the windows system hive. However most of the time I'm not carrying this around, I have a USB stick that can be used but I noticed earlier that while my Nexus One was plugged into the USB port on boot it is detected by my bios.
So the question is - Can the android USB interface act as a boot device? If so I assume it'd need a different partition since it's already got an OS?
(Also while I have your attention: 1) Did they ever fix the +1 area code problems with contacts?, 2) Why don't half my contacts show up in Send MMS dialogue (and others)?, 3) How do I tell if I have an SLCD or AMOLED screen cos sometimes the screen looks really crappy (dithering or off colour banding) AND FINALLY 4) can you set notification sounds differently depending on time of day (ie; I don't want a new gmail alert to wake me up at 2am.
