View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter unlocking my phone's bootloader and flashing the kernel:
When I power off the phone, it gets into a state where I cannot control it by itself (black screen, no charging light if connected to a power source, does not react in any way to any key).
However, I am able to access it via adb over USB. Using adb, I can put it into some other state (reboot, reboot bootloader, etc) and again gain control over it (also through its own keys). When I select the "power off" function of the bootloader, it enters this state again.
I can even reboot the phone (also into recovery/bootloader/fastboot) from any state
So I can use the phone, but I can't power it on by itself, which isn't a good situation when I don't have a computer around.
device: HTC One S
ROM: CyanogenMod 10 (device is officially supported by CM10; I used the version I found in the Wiki.)
kernel: The one included in CM10 (had to be flashed manually via fastboot because of restrictions by the device; I flashed the kernel before flashing the ROM)
im not sure why or what ive done but when i try and shut the phone down it just hangs at the "shutting down" screen for hours. it went 4 hours lastnight without shutting off. the only way to get it to stop is to pull the batt or it sometimes works to plug it into the computer with the usb cable. ive also noticed that mixzing wont read the sd card, keeps saying memory card is unavailible. could it be the same thing in both cases? the memory card is having issues? ive only had the phone for 2 weeks. i can save to and read from the card when mounted as a disc drive and i can shoot and save pics and videos as well as double twist reading from the card just fine. is there something im missing? this is driving me nuts im on telus, android 2.1, not rooted or modified in any way.

I know there are apps out there that do it but all I've come across are ones that require a program to be installed on the system ahead of time.
basically I am looking for an app that acts just like matcode's remote shutdown program.I've tried searching but but the results are too flooded with programs that require software to be setup ahead of time.I am rebooting windows 7 computers and have an atrix 4g phone
I have problem with my funbook infinity. After I uninstalled busybox X from my device it gone crazy. When I try to shutdown and turn it on then it shows the reset page, even I complete the reset process (e.g fill up my name, date-time, google account) then I goto Settings-->Storage there I saw that my zero size internal storage. I think this is because of busybox am I right ?? By the way my funbook is running ICS 4.0.4 . I can't do any root work because i unrooted my device after i uninstalled busybox. I also cant re-root my device because after the reboot by root process the device shows the reset page.

With some ROMs I've flashed (including the current one) my phone somehow stops shutting down automatically when the battery reaches <1% (btw I still get the Low Battery warning at 15%), what happens is that, when it runs empty, suffers a hard shutdown (duh) and when I put it charging and I try to turn it on (even hours of charging later) I get a black screen (attachment) with a battery icon, some green bars and a hourglass. And a Bolt (no pun intended)
I really wanna stay with this ROM, so another 4.2 ROM for this phone.
Just remembered the red notification light switches on/off from time to time 30s-1m(maybe)
I have a MK802 Android PC dongle on its way. It has no on/off switch so powers up when it is given juice and is shut down by pulling the cable. This is the same as pulling the battery and is a pretty violent way of doing it.
Is there an app available that does a gentle shutdown and allows Android to clean up before it goes? BTW, apparently the device comes already rooted.
Hey Guys, I just replaced my blackberry 8310 for an incredible (wow). Is there a way I can move the data over? I did have google sync for my calender installed and working; but since I mainly work on office 2010 beta, gsync doesnt work. So, i hadent noticed the gsync wasnt syncing with my calender. That being said is there a known way to get the data over? Phone service is terminated so it has to be done tehtering to the PC somehow..I was able to get contacts no problems there as I had them in many locations, but would like the notes also.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHere's my current setup which I'm assuming I may have to modify. Current Phone: Palm Centro I have an external email account and a Gmail account. My Gmail account is setup to check my other account via Gmail's POP3 system. I then use MS Outlook to check my Gmail account. All my data is in Outlook. Calendar, Contacts, and emails. I'm getting a new Android phone and need to get the same contacts and such onto there.
Technically, the same emails that are in Outlook are in Gmail so that's not a problem.
I also use Google's Calendar sync program so my outlook calendar is also in Gmail so I assume that wouldn't be a problem either. This leaves me with my contacts. Is there a preferred program that will sync my outlook contacts to Gmail like I do with my calendar? Or is there some other way that people have used that works just as well? I will continue to use Outlook as my primary contact/calendar management program but just want everything to sync across to the phone.
I read through some articles in converting .dex to .jar.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay so i have this really old phone (Samsung Captivate) with a really awesoem clock app. But its a system app and i want to install it on one of my other phones (Galaxy Nexus) as a user app.
They both are NOT running stock ROM. In fact the Cappy is on 4.2.1 and the Nexus on 4.2.2.
Not a big differnece, right? So i presume this would be possible.
Before you ask, i did do research on this and found nothing but moving one user app from one phone to another phone as a user app, etc. Nothing with moving a system app from one phone to user app on another. (My phone is dead at the moment)
I have been trying this for hours without success. http://replicaisland.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ I have added the repository and successfully downloaded the project into the workspace using the option "check out as a project in the workspace" calling it replicaisland. I tired using the option "check out as project using the New Configuration Wizard" but when I selected and android project I had to enter details that I don't yet have. I right click on the project and select "convert to Android project" which gives me an error. Code...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have about 50 gigabytes worth of audio books I have purchased from iTunes over the years. I have read numerous things about people burning mp3 CD and re saving them this is completely impractical for this vast amount of data. It would take months. I have seen I can get a virtual CD drive and do it artificially. Is there a free one that works properly?
Also is there any plans for google play to allow larger file upload for audio book support? it took my cd converted books just fine.
and lastly, Is there perhaps a site I can upload the books to be hosted instead of converting them?
Is there any way to install an .apk that is meant for ICS OS on my Gingerbread device?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy fiance's phone automatically converts my contact information into my [URL] contact, which makes the SMS convert into MMS. This slows down everything. We have deleted the entire thread, and all of each other's contact info, and tried to start over, but it just continues to default to that number. When I type in her tmomail.net number into my phone, it keeps the 2 threads separate (her tmomail and her phone number).

View 3 Replies View RelatedIf I need to paste text from another app in my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy SII, O2, Jelly Bean), like from Google Keep or Docs, into a text message it tends to convert from an SMS to MMS. This leads to a charge for me as my SMS messages are included in my tariff but I have no allowance for MMS messages. I presume that this might be something to do with character encoding or other formatting data that is pasted in, but that is only a guess.
Is there any way to stop short messages from being converted to MMS messages like this:? I couldn't find any 'paste clipboard as plain text' option in Android Jelly Bean.
