General :: Getting Device Manager Working On New Galaxy S5?

getting Device Manager working on my new Galaxy S5. If I recall, Device Manager looks at GPS position first. If that is turned off, it rolls to WiFi. If that is off, it rolls to Cell communications. It worked well on my old Galaxy S2, even when GPS was off, it still found the phone within a certain range.
With my Galaxy S5, it doesn't seem to work when GPS is turned of. WiFi or Cell signal will not allow device manager to find the phone.

As you may have heard Android Device Manager has rolled out to 2.2 and above. To activate it, go to settings and then tap Device Administrators. There should be an option to activate Android Device Manager.
To track it and wipe the data follow the directions: Go to [URL]... log in and then click the settings gear under your account info. There should be an option for Android Device Manager.

I'm using the Note 2 with Cleanrom 4.7.0 and Nova prime. I've searched the forums but can't find a solution. My task manager randomly stops working (press and hold home) at least once a day. I will get haptic feedback when the home button is long pressed but nothing will come up. Sometimes I'll long press the home button and the task manager will show up for a split second and then disappear. A restart usually fixes the problem but it's getting annoying as this happens a couple times a day.

I upgraded my HTC One Mini from android 4.2.2 to 4.3 and eversince I get multiple times a day annoying notification in top bar, that permission is requested for my google account and when I click on it, toast appears saying that google account manager has stopped working.

I have Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Duos. I installed an application related to ROM DEVELOPMENT. It had an option under 'task manager' to make it a 'User App'. I mistook it as something else and selected it. Now the Task Manager in my phone is disabled. Not shown in anywhere in the phone. As i press my home key long, it shows recent apps with a option "Task Manager". but m not able to select it. as i click it, the phone hangs and is rebooted.

I have just bought myself a THL W8 and so far I am very happy with it.I am not clued up enough to do the gravitymod2 rom flash yet.Is there any other way I can get 3g working on my device. I can get edge,hsdpa and hsdpa+ but no 3g.I have read up on the other threads but havent found a solution.

I have customer, who has crashing app on his phone. Previously we use to use aLogcat application on the phone. So user was just instructed to extract log from this application and send logfile to us. But unfortunately aLogcat is not working since Jelly Bean update.
How can I get logcat info from his device without asking him to install entire Android SDK? Any simple software on the phone or on the Windows computer can do this trick?

HTC Sync (with cable to Outlook on my desktop) worked fine for a few weeks after I got the Evo and doesn't work now. Trying to start it brings up an error message "Unable to create device manager instance". I've searched the web and forums and have tried every suggestion, none of which work. Has anyone here had this problem and actually solved it?

Yesterday, i installed the Cyanocream rom in my GY, i did not like and i uninstalled, i back for the stock rom with the CWM Backup, my phone says it is charging when it is desconect from the charger and i have problems with the USB conection, the phone does not recognize the USB, on the pc shows: "USB Device Not Recognized" i have the samsung drivers installed in my pc, i want conect the phone USB to restore it with the CWM

I kind of figured ROM manager was a clockwork thing but after I flashed the latest MIUI build and the English pack #2 it started to boot into Amons recovery instead of clockwork. And yes I didn't change my recovery to Amoni it even said on the program that clockwork. 2. 5. 0. 1 was my recovery. But that wasnt the worst part.Now when I try to flash one of my other Rom backups it says Rom manager has superuser permissions but then it just sits there. I finally was able to get into clockwork... did a backup via My backup pro, but I couldn't do a restore of one of my saved Roms manually it gives a MD 5 or a MIDI 5 mistake something like that.

I'm writing an android application that depends on network activity and the alarm manager sometimes waking the phone up from a sleeping state. My question is how can I reliably test this on device? Ideally, how can I force the phone into a full-on sleeping state. Failing that, how can I know for sure when the phone has fully gone to sleep? How do you test your Alarm Manager / Wake Lock / Sleep handling code?

there was a way to enable the Device Policy Manager without getting the users consent? The examples I've seen say to start an activity with intent DevicePolicyManager.ACTION_ADD_DEVICE_ADMIN which results in a window being popped up on the handset. Is it possible to enable the Device Policy Manager without a popup window?

I'm using Android Virtual Device Manager with an AVD Android 4.2 installed. The AVD configuration is like Whenever I clicked on the app Camera, I got the following error message
Unfortunately, Camera has stopped.I tried various solutions. I was thinking [HIGH]Menu->Manage apps->All tab->Camera->Clear data[/HIGH].should be able to solve the problem, but failed as well.
The only thing now I can think of is whether I need to change armeabi-v7a to armeabi or not? Should I use armeabi specifically for the emulator, rather than the real phones?

I want to use my Galaxy Note 2 as my video camera. Then use a 2nd portable handheld device (like another phone or tablet) to act as a monitor so can see what my Note 2 is filming. I would like to know if this is possible somehow either wired or wireless.
Could I purchase a small portable router like the TP-Link router. Then connect it with usb to my Galaxy Note 2. Then create a wifi connection that a 2nd wifi device can connect to (like an HTC One or tablet). Then use an app of some sort to see what my Note 2 is filming? I have found the team viewer app but I think is only for mobile to pc. how to use a mobile device to act as a monitor for my Galaxy Note 2

I am having a problem getting my galaxy tab 10.1 to recognize a usb flash drive I have connected via an adapter. I know it works because it detected a wireless mouse I connected to it, and it shows up when I use dmesg or lsusb in the terminal. The thing is that none of the file explorers I've used (Es, Astro) are able to detect the files I have on it. The usb drive is formatted to fat32; would it be more likely to detect it if I formatted it to ext3 or ext4?

Since rooting my Desire using Unrevoked 3.21 yesterday I've downloaded the rom manager from the market.
Having successfully flashed the leedroid 2.1a rom to my phone I then found I needed to partition the sd card for A2SD+
When trying to use rom manager to partition my sd card in preperation for A2SD+, I get a white triangle with an explanation mark in it and the android icon beneath.
With the text,
E:failed to seek in /cache/update.zip (invalid argument)
E:signature verification failed
installation aborted
Then when trying to reboot, the phone was stuck in a boot loop and with a wiped sd card
Managed to get my nandroid backup back on the sdcard and reflash to stock, then when trying to partition again get the same error....thankfully reboot on stock rom works
Any ideas on why my rom manger isn't working?
(I also had a similar error when trying to use the "backup current rom" option)

I was trying to get calkulins DE03 on my moment tonight, and since I've put dd03/dd10 on, I thought it would be easy but I obviously messed up something. i have the new 2.1 rom flasher, i have joeykrims 2.1.3, those dont seem to be the issue. the issue is now when I place the phone in download mode, I no longer get a data connection. I just get something called m900 under the Other Device category in Device Manager. i have no idea what driver I need to make this happen, and I certainly dont remember this from flashing it the previous two time. I tried to install the drivers from the Technica YT video, but that didnt seem to solve anything. when the phone is in Normal Mode, I can mount and do all sorts of things via USB, so clearly, this is a Download Mode driver issue.
