I'm getting a text message each time someone leaves me a voicemail.I don't see any reason for the message, as the icon in the notification bar at the top of the phone already lets me know I have a new voicemail.Is there any way to deactivate the SMS message notifications?

I tried the apps "Handcent" and "Sms Popup" and set them to automatically display a popup on the lock screen when there is a new sms (similiar to the iPhone).Both apps, however, only display the popup after the lock screen.I guess this has something to do with this "great" touchwiz overlay Samsung is using. Any way to fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI searched the market and the forum but found nothing like this.I think SMS popup is a great app and would love something similar for email that would pop up a box telling me I got an email, who it was from and the subject line with an option to open or ignore.I plan to email the SMS popup developer but I was wondering if anyone else had come across something like this or if anyone else would be interested?I'm going to link the dev to this thread, so if its something you'd like chime in here so he knows there is interest.

View 18 Replies View RelatedI got the Droid yesterday, and I'm trying to use Google Voice *just* for voicemail. However, it seems like I never get notifications about new voicemail, unless the app is open. Also, recorded voicemail is very soft when it's played back, almost too soft to hear.

View 3 Replies View RelatedUp until yesterday, the pop up screen would always come on, whether the phone was locked or not; it's how I had to do in the settings. Now, all of a sudden, if the phone is locked, the pop-up screen no longer comes on. The screen turns on, i see the notification in the status bar, but the pop-up screen no longer shows until i unlock and use the pattern to unlock. I changed nothing at all and the settings are as they were.

I am really digging this phone and have no intentions of going back ever. I see the little indicator at the top of the phone but I wanted something more noticeable or annoying.is there anything better?Figured I would ask you folks what you use or recommend for this phone. View 8 Replies View RelatedI just loaded up bugless beast 0.4(2.2) and noticed that for the default messaging app I was getting a pop up window every time I got a text. I found no way to disable this. So I finally decided to just load Handcent and use that. So I disabled all notifications for the default app, and set up Handcent. The pop up options are not selected yet I still get this stupid popup!
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to get more than one popup window in the browser?Popups are accepted in settings.We are using a website in my work that redirect first to one popup (and thats ok) but from there it redirect to another popup and its here the phone blocks the popup with the message tah one popup are allready open.Before 2.2 the first site open as a new site and not as an popup and the second as a popup and that was ok.I have tryed original browser, opera and Dolphin with the same result.

It had a pop-up, but a different one.I also have Missed Call installed, but do not have SMS configured, nor do I think it even has an option for pop-windows like this anyway.

But now i want that when i click on the list item i should have a kind of popup which has three options and depending on the option i click a new activity should be launched. I was thinking this was a Vodafone problem, but I just installed SMSPopUp the other day and have started to notice that some messages that appear via the Popup notification are NOT appearing in the actual Messaging App (I'm still using the HTC Messaging app, haven't installed any 3rd Party messaging apps aside from Popup as yet). the phone isn't rooted or had any messing about with the ROM and technically it's a T-Mobile G2, but I had it unlocked to use/keep my vodafone number.
Has anyone heard of or had similar problems? I just want to know wether I should be contacting Vodafone to enquire about my missing messages or wether it's a fault on the phone?
One of the really cool things about Inc is that it includes web browser support video streaming. The flip side is that if you use this on sites where it's offered, you will likely get annoying ad popups! Why is it then that neither the Marketplace nor Appbrain offers any software to control this? I realize that Firefox software tweaks, which control everything from popup ads to cookies, script control, and much more, are called addons but with Android the browser would be Google Chrome. Is this the problem, or can I get controls like this in Google-world too, specifically for Android?
Suppose I changed the default browser to Firefox, would I be able to use most of it's addons (I already know most of them work in Linux for PCs, but Android hasn't quite impressed me so far with much PC-like tweakability). How would I go about doing this, anyway?
