Up until yesterday, the pop up screen would always come on, whether the phone was locked or not; it's how I had to do in the settings. Now, all of a sudden, if the phone is locked, the pop-up screen no longer comes on. The screen turns on, i see the notification in the status bar, but the pop-up screen no longer shows until i unlock and use the pattern to unlock. I changed nothing at all and the settings are as they were.

I just got a "new" samsung galaxy s3 a few days ago and the only problem I've come across so far is that none of the sms pop up apps I download work. I've used SMS Popup on my previous phones in conjunction with Handcent SMS with no problem. I'm frustrated because I can't figure out why NONE of the apps, SMS 7, Popup Notifier, or SMS Popup, will work. And when I say doesn't work I mean I can open the app and change the settings, but nothing ever happens when I get a text - no popup, no notification, no sound, no LED light. But I've tried the Handcent pop up and it works just fine?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI tried the apps "Handcent" and "Sms Popup" and set them to automatically display a popup on the lock screen when there is a new sms (similiar to the iPhone).Both apps, however, only display the popup after the lock screen.I guess this has something to do with this "great" touchwiz overlay Samsung is using. Any way to fix this?

Just wondering if i need to install the May update in order to see the upgrade to 2.2 popup window. My firmware says its up to date but i know thats a lie did i screw up my phone somehow?

The flip side is that if you use this on sites where it's offered, you will likely get annoying ad popups! Why is it then that neither the Marketplace nor Appbrain offers any software to control this? I realize that Firefox software tweaks, which control everything from popup ads to cookies, script control, and much more, are called addons but with Android the browser would be Google Chrome. Is this the problem, or can I get controls like this in Google-world too, specifically for Android?
Suppose I changed the default browser to Firefox, would I be able to use most of it's addons (I already know most of them work in Linux for PCs, but Android hasn't quite impressed me so far with much PC-like tweakability). How would I go about doing this, anyway?

What does this mean and how can I fix it?
I'm getting a text message each time someone leaves me a voicemail.I don't see any reason for the message, as the icon in the notification bar at the top of the phone already lets me know I have a new voicemail.Is there any way to deactivate the SMS message notifications?

I can't get it to install. It says not enough space when installing via astro or any other file managers while i have hundreds of mbs free. I am rooted but everything is stock others reported the same thing when trying to install. I tried to install via adb but i am not positive on how to do it. Has anyone gotten this to work on the incredible.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my Incredible last week. Along with it I bought the HTC car mount from the Verizon store. When the phone was placed into the mount the touch screen would not work. The phone works fine out side of the holder, and fine in the holder but not when the holder is attached to the suction cup arm. It's like the phone is squeezed or something... it wont even unlock. I took the holder back to the Verizon store, the tech support girl was confused as well. We pulled another holder out from the back and it did the same thing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust a heads up that your Cox POP email might not work properly on the incredible.I just set up my cox POP email on the incredible's email client and I can only read incoming mail from the POP email server but can not send email via the SMTP outgoing server. The same issue occurs if you use other android email clients that you download.I spoke with Cox, Verizon and eventually HTC tech support about the issue and after several hours of research (the last 1.5 hrs done by HTC) it was discovered that the incredible is unable to connect to the Cox outgoing smtp server for the west coast (smtp.west.cox.net). The HTC support team was able to use different mobile devices on the Verizon network to connect to the cox outgoing server (which means the server is just fine), but they were unable to get any incredible to connect to the cox outgoing server. (They tried a couple of incredible phones).
HTC support was fantastic. It took a very long time to get a support person on the phone but when I eventually spoke with someone they drilled deep into the problem and drug in many others on their team.HTC informed me that they are going to elevate this issue to the next level of support (which could take up to 14 days). Hopefully they can resolve this or I'll have to ditch the phone and head back to my old phone.if you use smtp.west.cox.net as your outgoing server keep an eye on this thread
Can anybody tell me how one is better than the other? At the risk of sounding very 'Apple', I want something that just works. Its funny how if you search enough for app reviews you always find somebody who has bad experiences.If you uninstall either of these apps, do they uninstall clean and put everything back to the way it was? *default messaging app*

I am really digging this phone and have no intentions of going back ever. View 8 Replies View RelatedI just loaded up bugless beast 0.4(2.2) and noticed that for the default messaging app I was getting a pop up window every time I got a text. I found no way to disable this. So I finally decided to just load Handcent and use that. So I disabled all notifications for the default app, and set up Handcent. The pop up options are not selected yet I still get this stupid popup!
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to get more than one popup window in the browser?Popups are accepted in settings.We are using a website in my work that redirect first to one popup (and thats ok) but from there it redirect to another popup and its here the phone blocks the popup with the message tah one popup are allready open.Before 2.2 the first site open as a new site and not as an popup and the second as a popup and that was ok.I have tryed original browser, opera and Dolphin with the same result.

It had a pop-up, but a different one.I also have Missed Call installed, but do not have SMS configured, nor do I think it even has an option for pop-windows like this anyway.
