I just got the HTC One and was wondering if it is possible to answer a call with voice without using the car app and without connecting to the internet?
Is this function built in to the phone or is an 3rd party app required?

One thing I've noticed with my HTC Hero (Sprint) is that I have a very short period of time to answer an incoming call before the caller is directed to voice mail. When I do answer the phone people are routinely telling me that it rang 4 or more times before I answered even though, from my perspective, I answered it rather quickly. Could this have something to do with using downloaded ringtones? Perhaps, while the phone should be ringing, instead, it is loading the ringtone off the sdcard.

Is there any easy way to answer a call? I just got my first android (4.2) phone and find it a complicated procedure to answer calls.
When I get an incoming call I get a white phone symbol which I have to press and hold to get the red and green phone symbols to appear and to answer a call the timing has to be exact as if I release the white phone symbol before I have started the slide to answer it fails and I find it about impossible to reject a call with this method.
I thought there might be some setting to alter this like the lock screen but can't find anything.
I just got my new Nexus yesterday and I have wi- fi that is working. when it says Select wi-fi I click on the connection that I use for my lap top and it won't connect. I have a ipod, phone and laptop that connects.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S4 Google Edition with Stock 4.3, and my husband has a Galaxy Note 3 from T-Mobile, with 4.3 as well. He usually listens to Pandora, however, the music from Pandora doesn't stop playing when he receives a phone call. So he hears the music AND the phone call at same time. He uses the Samsung headphones that came with the phone. I use the Google Music app to listen to my music, and the same thing happens to me. I get a phone call, and the music keeps playing. Our friend, has a Galaxy S3 from T-Mobile with Android 4.1 (I believe, could be 4.2) and he says his music stops when he gets a phone call.
Is this a 4.3 bug? Is there anyway to make it stop playing music automatically when answering a call? If it's a bug, is it fixed in 4.4?
I am using Sony Xperia Neo L with ported Paranoid CM9 rom with CM9 OC Gov Net kernel. I have used it for a few months until today, I can't receive phone calls but can still make phone calls. When somebody calls me, the phone will just vibrate for less than a second. I can see who is calling me in the call logs. There isn't a screen for me to answer the call: with a call icon which can be pulled left or right. The caller would just hear my neo L's voicemail greeting or like forwarding to another phone ( i know that because the beeping sound is different.) I have checked the forwarding setting already.

I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..
Few Asus Transformer Questions. I have been looking for something I can browse the internet with, watch video, and take notes in class all while having the capabilities of a tablet. My girlfriend works nights at a sleep lab and has an extremely terrible wifi connection at her work. The only way for her to connect to the internet is via cable. I'm thinking that the Transformer (with dock) is our best option but I was wondering if a simple cable to USB adapter will work on a Transformer for connecting to the internet?

I have no problem with giving out a different number, and my placed calls seeing the GV number in caller ID.
My question is, does this affect how the call is actually connected, from a quality standpoint? I tired a call both ways, and the sound quality seemed a little bit different. But then, I am an obsessive compulsive weirdo.

This has happened a couple of times: I have the phone in my pocket and it's screen is locked, I get a call and the slide to unlock screen is there, but nothing will work for me to answer the call. No sliding in any direction will work, if I press a button it just sends the call away. I end up having to call them back.

Vringo and other apps does answer the phone by pressing a button on their app, so there must be a way to do it.

Is anyone using or aware of an alternative way to answer calls? The 'swipe down' mechanism doesn't work well for me since I often end up inadvertently hanging up while taking the phone out of my pocket. I think the Droid/Nexus One had answering screens that let you swipe sideways. Is there such an app available for the Inc?

I tried to slide it to drop the call and nothing happened. I then mashed a bunch of buttons in frustration and think i rebooted my phone. It did it again to me today, though after about 10 seconds it finally allowed me to answer the phone. I have weatherbug going without GPS as that killed the battery, also have pocket empires going today.
